the puzzle element was fun and creative, but the poetry on the bottom didn't make much sense and the overall "art game" feel seemed kind of unnecessary.

That was pretty neat. I think it's interesting when you finish each level and the pieces sit themselves together, and as it turns out, it would have been an insanely easy task had they been oriented right in the first place. Scattering the pieces like that makes things a lot harder than you would think. Good work, man.

I hope and pray that I will find
The child that I have left behind
For as I hear the madness gloat
A frightened scream rips from my throat
A child's love, with blind ambition
Against my paniced admonition
Into the heart of evil's lair
I battle on, without dispair
And search and wander as I might
I see no ending to my plight
There is no point in searching more
For I'm the one he's searching for

I love the concept. It's difficult, but not frustrating, and it really makes you slow down and think about what you're going to do.

This is just amazing! Nice music, great concept, great storytelling^^ I'll have to write that poem down on a piece of paper on my next playthrough :P

I love the concept of this game but i think there should be more and harder levels but i guess level difficulty is kind of hard to predict with a game like this great game though im hoping for a sequel :D
Difficulty, especially with this mechanic, is exceptionally hard to gauge. Some people just "get it" instantly and are flying through every level while others are struggling by level 3 because they don't realize how the background props are giving them hints.

A pause/Menu/Level Select game would be awesome. I was already in the extra levels, had to reboot and... Start all over again? Not good... :-(
It was pretty tricky making the levels. I had to lay out a normal platformer level while also keeping in mind of where I wanted things to be cut in half. It was pretty painstaking and a lot of levels were left on the cutting room floor when the end result was too easy.
There's no game without players. I'm highly appreciative of everyone taking the time to comment and share their feelings. There's not enough communication, especially in the AAA industry, between developers and players and that's something that needs to change.

Great refreshing new mechanic for a platformer! The only thing that bugged me a bit is that it seems that you recorded the poem in individual sound files, one for each level, rather than recording it all in one go and splitting it from there. The poem loses the flow it should have, and thus, a lot of the beauty of the rhythm and sound of the poem is lost. Even if it's done deliberately as part of the Fractured metaphor, I submit that the game loses little by redoing the recording for those lines of poetry, but gains so much beauty.
They were indeed done as separate takes. I really like how disjointed it becomes. Every line has its own little inflection and meaning completely different from the last. I'm glad you picked up on that; very keen.

A metaphor for the shattered mind of a child who has lost his mother. Very deep. Excellent gameplay. Tragic poetry. Never has a platformer made my eyes moist with emotion. Thank You.

Such a great game! It's spatial reasoning aspect made it a nice refreshing change to the average platform game. The story fragments were a real clever addition and made the title "Fractured" even more validated and added a sort of reward for solving the puzzle. The story was short, yet held such emotion! One of my favorite games! 5/5

By some reasons, a game window does not fit the player. This cause the "Play Game" button to disappear. For those who think the game doesn't load, try zooming your browser out a little bit.

great game. its like a brand new take on a classic platformer, and was really enjoyable. also liked how it actually took some thinking to figure out
5/5

That was surprisingly easier than I was expecting ^^ I was a little disappointed because I was hoping the bonus levels would reunite them, but maybe this means there'll be more chapters or something?

Adorable! It's so amazing how once again a total new concept can come out so succesful, so creative. I read all the comments and agree with almost all of them. It always bothers me when there is no save function, but I finished the game all at once so I didn't even noticed :D Thank you for such a nice game!

This is VERY original, not based off of anything (I'm looking at you hanger) and you SHOULD feel proud of yourself for making this.
I wonder why so many people are having problems. Are you using Chrome by any chance? I wonder if they pushed out an update that broke it. Having problems with any other games?

wow, this game is a bit mind boggling. I can see what Dinochaur means when he says it doesn't have a lot of puzzle functions, but the screen fracture really makes this game a fun challenge even without a bunch of levers and buttons and such.
The screen just wasn't big enough to fit too much more. As a developer, you know how restrictive the dimensions of a Flash game can be some times. I wish I could've added more too. I'm glad you still enjoyed it though.
