At first I thought a dumb minesweeper ripoff. However, quickly understanding the rules I had a lot of fun. This game makes a truly original, addictive, and fun spin at a classic game we all love.

Really great adaptation of the minesweeper mechanic. I wish I could give this game 5 stars, but the game is just too unpolished for that. 4/5.

I think there's a mistake in experience levels: to reach level 4 you need more exp than that provided by killing all level 1-3 monsters. So a perfect game is impossible: you wil have to find a level 4 monster and get hit for 4 HP.

It's an amazing game, a highly underrated puzzler that makes you think. Once you understand the mechanics you're golden. I have this on iPod.

This game is awesome! I remember when I first heard about it and I had a lot of fun playing it on the original website even though I had to use chrome's translate feature to understand what was going on. I'm glad to see it's on Kongregate now. 5/5

the level of a monster will be the number,except if there are more around it!a block localisates 8 blocks.upper,upperleft,upperright,right,left,downright,downleft,down.(not itself when u have beaten a monster already),it works like that:monsterlocalisated level+monsterlocalisated level+monsterlocalisated level = number.

@Elroar Well ofcourse when you are lvl 1 you deal 1 damage per turn.
you deal 1, lvl 4 enemy has 3hp left
he deals 4 you have 6 left
you deal 1, lvl 4 enemy has 2hp left
he deals 4 you have 2 left
you deal 1, lvl 4 enemy has 1hp left
he deals 4 you have -2, you die.
Good game took just like freaking 1200 seconds to beat the first time xD

Interesting game. I found myself clicking squares that I thought had a moster, yet it didn't, and then I realized there was a moster nearby. It made me think differently, which for a mindsweeper spinnoff is VERY hard to make. GOOD GAME.

Once again, Hojamaka has demonstrated lots of innovation with this variation on the theme of Minesweeper. It really was a lot of fun, although I found it to be pretty easy. (As long as you don't click on a dragon when you start!) For example, if you are Level 2 and you see a square that says "1" or "2", there is no danger in clicking any of the squares around it. It is ESSENTIAL to mark the squares if one intends on beating this game. As others have said, once you figure out how this game is played, it is a LOT of fun!

I don't get this, how do I know where the monsters are if numbers correspond to their level? a 3 could mean 3 monsters of 1 lvl 3 monster...

Once I got the point of the game, I couldn't find myself stopping. It's a rather addictive game that puts a new spin while still being very simple to play. It's a great time-waster than Minesweeper itself. 5/5

I love this game- if I had kreds, this is where they would go. My absolute favorite game on kong, and that includes some of those great games like pixel legions or hexiom connect.

Awesome game, once you understand the game its extremely interesting and still challenging. Kudo's to hojamaka. But I would suggest better instructions in the future. Maybe an interactive tutorial?

Btwguys, you can mark squares you haven't uncovered with the left and right arrow keys (or A and D). Hover over a square with your mouse and hit the right key to mark it going up from 2 to 5. Hit left to mark it going down from 5 to 2.

When you click on a tile with a monster in it, a battle begins.
First you attack, and deal damage (equal to your level) to the monster.
On the next turn, if the monster is still alive, it attacks you back.
Your attacks alternate until one of you dies.
You don't see this, though -- the battle plays out instantly after you click.

Coolest minesweeper game ever! In some ways it is easier and more forgiving than the original version. I love it, love it!

This is a game that I could lose hours of my life to. The one suggestion I could make is, perhaps, make an in game shop. When you uncover one of the blank squares, you get a gold coin, and you can spend that to buy armor which would give damage resistance, or a weapon that would deal more damage, or even health potions. The game's difficulty is right on there with minesweeper: which is to say, still a little too hard. It's fun regardless.

Much improved over minesweeper. Though instructions are horrid as possible. In addition to working your way from clear spots, this version has you going back to get more exp to level. There's also more math involved. Once you figure out how to play, especially if you are proficient in mine sweeper, then you'll be at ease.

This game is awesome. I love Minesweeper and I love RPGs; I love the combination of logic and taking out the low levels first then building your way up. Excellent game.

Look people, it's like this: it's exactly like minesweeper except: (A) Some of the mines are worth more than 1 point (they range from 1-5 points). So an empty square next to a 1-point-mine and a 2-point-mine will display a "3". (B) You have to reveal ALL the squares to win, including the mines. You start at level one, and you can step on mines so long as they are less than or equal to your current level -- so you can step on 1-point-mines right away. Stepping on mines increases your experience, and once you have enough experience you advance to the next level. If you step on a mine greater than your current level, you lose some health, depending on how much greater it is (haven't figured out the exact formula here). Click on a square.
If a monster inhabits that square you go through a battle agenst it.
Click on a monster icon to display the cumulitive level of all monsters bordering that square (not including the monster that is in the square).
It is possible to mark a square with [A], [D], or the arrow key.
When you push [Left] or [A], the square sequentially decreases from five.
When you push [Right] or [D], the square sequentially increases from two.
To start a new game push [Clear], and then confirm [OK?].
Status
HP: Hit points. Game over at 0.
LV: Level.
EX: Experience (total).
NE: Experience needed to advance in level.
