Description (Game published on 2009-01-12)

This is a variation on the Mouse Avoider theme. A little trigonometry, a little music, and a lot of fun, slowly turning into frustration.

You are the Justice Dispensing Cerulean Avatar, tasked with destroying an infestation of Trigmoids. See how many you can take out before you are overwhelmed.

Updates

090113 UPDATE: Wait time for creatures to appear has been greatly reduced.

090113 UPDATE 2: Wait time for creatures has been reduced even more, and you can toggle mute between games by pressing “enter” or “m”.

090126 UPDATE 3: I just uploaded a tutorial on the math used in this game. Click on my profile link to see it. Enjoy!

Instructions

Move the mouse to move your avatar.

Drain the Trigmoids health by touching their hearts.
Knock out the green spheres to weaken their defenses.
Touching a gray sphere will damage you.
Draining a Trigmoid’s heart will heal you.
Beware – Trigmoids will try to protect themselves.

Toggle Mute between games by pressing “Enter” or “m”.

Also consider putting a timer, indicating how long you've survived? Or maybe a combo counter, like "How many Trigmoids destroyed without being hit" type thing. :D

Very nice game. :) I agree with Everet, it does need a pause button, and maybe changing backgrounds as the difficulty increases? Power-ups and bosses sound a good idea. Powerups eg: Invincibility, destroy all on-screen Trigmoids.. Also, include Kongregate API for high scores next time. :) (There a tutorial on API at www.kongregate.com/accounts/kongregate) Overall, very nice. 4/5. Oh, and, a variation of music would be good, eg: In the pause menu, be able to turn the music on/off, but also select different music.

Fun game. After lvl 40 I started clearing the green dots and not eating the reds because of the difficulty increase. IE: a field of health as you take on 1 object at a time.

Interesting game. Simple, but fun. I will agree with the comment that was made before; at times, they tend to cut across corners or skirt the edge of the field, making it hard to do anything about them. On games where that happens, when they do start running through the field later, the difficulty ramps up as you're facing the mobs you couldn't deal with before. Still, good concept for an avoider-style game. Looking forward to the next version.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I added Mute capabilities between/before games, and I have tightened up the enemies' boundaries as much as I can. Any more and they will magically appear out of nowhere. I am already planning TriGaVoid II, and I have some ideas for how power-ups and bosses will work. Thanks again for the feedback!

Actually, this was a lot of fun. I was playing this and it was great. Mute button needs to be added but your use of cardioids and other geometric equations are quite cool. The ability of the stuff to run off the screen was kinda nice, kind of a pain in the butt as it gets really annoying to wait for that one that you need again. Great job.

Enjoyed this game a great deal! A few comments: -Pause would be helpful! could include instructions on a pause screen in case someone wasn't paying attention at the start. It would be great to have a way to bring the instructions back up once you start. -I would find it worthwhile as trigmoids advance through their variations to be able to track what the most complex trigmoid i've faced (or defeated), or alternately what level each trigmoid is presently at. -Finally I agree regarding trigmoid screen time, and i personally found it frustrating when they would merely cross a corner of the screen so i barely had a chance to see the pattern let alone attempt to touch the green spheres.

I'd certainly be interested in a tutorial on the math.

Thanks again for the feedback. You will see some of your suggestions - including a mute button - in TriGaVoid II: The Revenge. A question for you folks: Do you think it would be worth my while to post a tutorial on the math involved in this game?
