This game is incredibly thought provocing and a brilliant game psycologically. the story was just ties up ith the confining grey graphics, the mournful music and the many opinions on SDGS

I think the base your in is SGDS' "dream". After he was shut down/turned into manual mode, he had to be completelly reprogrammed. So you're the AI trying to escape this "dream", and the voices on the wall are the programmers, talking you to do what they want. The reactivation of the authomatic mode is the AI's freedom from the human control. At the end, the "infinite ocean" (the imagination of SGDS) breaks free and frees himself from the human programmation.
This is my interpretation. And sorry for my English, I'm german :)

Simply the best flash I have ever encountered. Full stop.
Intellectual, intense, slightly morbid, everything.
You have transcended awesome.

Interesting concept, but the information is a little much, it takes like an hour of reading the little blurbs and trying to figure out the missing parts (and note that I am a fast reader) so I think a lot of it could go over people's heads. Though as far as the plot goes, it is kind of a terminator scenario... but different, the AI was created so well it could really think and learn, because it didn't have the notions of humans, it developed its own, and used logic as its only path to answers; because of this logic, it found how war and weaponry was really self-destructive, it wasn't viewing humans from any one country's standpoint, but as a whole, as a species. Because of this, it attempted to destroy all the worlds weapons; the government didn't want that and the makers managed to put it in manual mode, or "sleep mode" but as it had only one part to its consciousness and no sub-conscience, it was still able to function and think its way back to control.

love the atmosphere of the game and kept expecting to have just some slight color in the end my eyes hurt now be cause of all the black and white you should make the computer filled room to have color pictures just for the heck of it
good game kindoff reminds me of the myst series in an abstract sort of way

You are the A.I. The military (Who I believe might be the "Voices In The Walls") tried to shut you down completely, but Jerry left a code (JerrysLittleMonkey()) Which prevented them from doing so completely, so you were simply put into some sort of "dream state", wherein, just like the conversation you had with Jerry, you solved the problem of the "madness". The "madness" is, most likely, worldwide nuclear warfare. Infinite Ocean is most likely the internet, being a "endless" sea of information.

Jonas, this is a thought provoking masterpiece. Thank you for sharing this work, and I wish you a bright future in the medium.

outstanding game. I love how deep this simple adventure is. There is no real setting, time, existence and there shouldn't be. To add even one of these would in fact damage more than help. Wonderfully beautiful, a purgatory. The hint button never worked for me, which in the end makes me feel better about competing the game.

If you read all the text and fit the puzzle together, then you will discover it was the military who shut who down the consciousness of SGDS into a dream state.
xXxcolbyxXx's theory isn't merely "quite accurate" - it's rather factual.

This game would've made a lot more sense if I hadn't had to watch the walkthrough to find out that I have to manually drag around the password pieces to match. :-/ The game is point&click, except when it's not.

It may be that I'm just an ignorant uncaring asshole, but this didn't provoke any sort deep emotional thinking on my part... Not even a single twinge of empathy. Also the sacreligeous aspect of "creating a soul" really pissed me off. Nice effort though.

It also made me think. Now that I have finished it, I think that we are all an infinite ocean, in our own way. It makes me think differently about life.

Well, making SGDS that could understand and create it's own morality shouldn't be so hard as one could think, a lot harder would be teach it to see the difference between two faces and tell which one is whose (Moravec's paradox on wikipedia)

Brilliant sci fi game. Very deep and atmospheric. But I got disorientated and couldn't finish it. I don't think it would make the game too easy to provide some sort of map that opens up as you unlock different areas.

I totally agree with SGDS, especially for the old lie, live and die for your own truth, your own dreams. Be what you are. Answer your own dreams, Let rain flood desert. Hasn't SGDS shown more faith than Field?, and a better dream mayhap? My imperative prime is: be loyal to your world, to your own ways. (Hope you see how auto-critical that is), more great stories like this are always welcome...

The music is so fitting, so peaceful too. makes you think about the things you usually ignore, especially the little things.

Somewhere in the middle of the game you read this:
"011101000110100001101001011100110010000001101001011100110010000001100001001000000110010001110010011001010110000101101101"
Which can be translated from binary to text (just google "binary to text") and means "This is a dream", which makes me believe xxcolbyxx` version of the story is quite accurate. The AI is struggling to end this so called madness. VERY nice game. I can`t emphasize this enough with words alone. Saying its the best flash game I`ve played wouldn`t be too much.

Anybody else have the screen size load wrong? I keep reloading but it's cutting off the bottom and right side of the screen, I can't read the end of sentences, or turn right...

This wasn't just another escape game to me. It was a game that made you think. Think about humanity. Think about life. Think about yourself. It makes you reflect on the reality of things. Even, as the creator said, it was still imperfect, in its own way it was. Good job Jonas, have a fruitful life and journey within yourself to create works of art like this for future generations.

"I can imagine what it is to die, with great detail. I have multiplied millions of times," was what really sent shivers down my spine. I agree that the stopped clock and the hourglass with one grain of sand in the top mean that you are the SDGS moving in suspended time. This makes even more sense becasue turning yourself off would prevent war, but kill you, leading to all the messages on the walls as you debated scuicide with yourself (The notes left from the researchers are meant to encourage you.)

I have a theroy. You're are the A.I/SDGS (the reason why the base is there is to create the
A.I) In (A a dream or (B suspened in time. (notice the clock and hourglass) And the A.I is
trying to prevent the launch of nuclear weapons called Project Crusade. So it was trying to
prevent but the millitary shuts down the A.I to manual mode. The A.I in suspended amnation
tries to (A Shut its self compleatly on. (B Turn it self off. I think (B if the A.I whoud shut it self
off disableing all weapons it whoud be simply dead thats why you see the light at the end. The
computers might be the A.I agruing with its self agrubley it might be to human but possably the
computer has a sence of primary language or a imagantion. Over all 5/5 plus favorte its a strange
and wonderful game acutaly exsitsing before the escape the (insert place here). Also sorry for my
english.

Pretty good but the problem with writing for a game like this is that the writer is unable to transcend his/her own humanity for the AI bits.
