Ether war is probably one of my most favorite flash games but sadly, ESD doesn't cut it out for me even though I'm usually a fan of defense games. Although the spiral pattern is new for me, I have some few quirks that makes the game unlikeable.
*not being able to view the whole map and needing to scroll just to place towers here and there are kind of tiring. Zoom mode would be appreciated.
*music is too loud. I'm quite saddened that I have to mute the sweet explosions together wth the music.
*nostalgia about using a spaceship. I really wanna go out and not just wait for those creeps to come close to my towers.
*there's some more but meh...

If the developers can’t even figure out how to make separate controls for music and sound effects, they deserve to have their games rated 1/5..

Some tips. **At very first lv, don't forget you can buy/sell turret for FREE, remove shield if you don't need its. **At later lv, upgrade your shield regularly making ur shield regan health faster and also become tougher. Also more turrets surround shield means more damage shield'll get from exploding ethers. **Always save some ethers, you don't know what'll be sent next.

Definetly slower paced then the previous Ether Wars. Fans of tower games may like this, but for those of use who perfer piloting one soldier with a who war around us, this is a bit disappointing.

The game is good, great idea, but you should make a speed button, maybe speed x 2, x 3 or x 3´5. More variation in skills and towers and improove the upgrade system. If you do it the game will be much better, and i think you can make a splendid game ^^

tired of tower defense being considered strategy. there so linear and boring! i would much rather play, say, even a turn based game because you can actually use you BRAIN a little. idk. just my opinion and your entitled to yours.

what happen to my favorite game, come on don't you read the comment sections we loved the old ether, you should of just made some improvements and went from there, i feel like i am playing my daughter games. please rank up if you think the same and tell the maker what you really want from ether

Probably the reason that I don't like this is because, 1: It isn't really a tower defense. You can't maze, or do anything. You just lay towers down. And 2: It isn't an ether game. Or i don't think it is, it's just, like I said, laying towers down.

Not as good as your other games, gets boring fast and is unbalanced. Micro-managing defense turrets is overpowered (rebuilding free turrets after they explode). Needs better balanced weapons, for now i'm overly depending on radiation modded bombers with free defense turrets

its sad like all of you sad abow. i have 1 more thing. the waves are totally random if you loose 1 you cant improve your strategy because next time there are totally different waves. that sucks i mean give us a chance to improve the strategy

About 30 minutes or so of play value. 2/5 Strategy: build a group with 1 of everything on each side. Build lasers to the counterclockwise of your groups. Towers cost nothing so you can lose as many as you want while you level up your main towers. Nukes work well. Had 4 nuke towers by the end, and I still had 9 nukes left over. I would like to see all of the gun's range increased by about double so that you could move them further away from your main base. We have all this area, and we only use a tiny bit effectively!! And you have to wait so long for the enemies to come to you! I think that it would be a lot better if the game was zoomed out quite a bit too, you can't see very much of the play screen. Needs way more unlockables. 4 with only 1 good one isn't cutting it. And different colored backgrounds isn't really enticing me to want to play this lesson in drudgery again. The tutorial? Don't need it... would have figured this out in half a second.

first i couldnt remember where i heard the name "Ether" before... then i read the comments and "oh yeah, Ether War!" and then i thought this was actually good... you could at LEAST of the LEAST of the LEAST have put a manual turret to actually make the player PLAY the game instead of just staring at it.... and made it more like Ether War with a Station with Platforms you build on... and put something so you knew wich Grid you were clicking at instead of a little to the side of it so you put up a Turret the wrong place... and then you couldve added some kind of information for the turrets, like the VERY BASIC thing.. i dont know if you heard about it, but some games put in some information about how much the Turret and Upgrades COST, so you spare the player the confusion of mathing it out themselfs....

another thing to add to this is a grid on the map and not only on the mini map. just for the ocd ppl :) and make it so you can toggle it to :P

Having to move around just to interact with turrets that right next to the base is a major pain. Having smaller objects or a larger viewport is essential, and since Kongregate limits the viewport width, this game either needs smaller objects or to be played elsewhere.

There should be ether war 2 Including: More upgrades Being able to customize your ship Multiplayer: coop and versus Ether war has so much potential so please Will you make Ether war 2?

easy way to beat it without even having upgrades: Use bomb towers, upgrade them to radiation towers. eventually get 3 defense towers, one for each "section" around your base, and then just keep getting more radiation towers and upgrading your bomb towers. I lost one or two towers at the beginning, and didn't struggle at all with later levels with this strategy. + to keep alive if you wanna beat this game easily

this is boring crap T.T im probably gonna get minused for this but like 2/3 of the time is just waiting.1/5 for waiting like two thirds of the time

In my opinion, this game is lacking 1 thing, ships, in the origional ether game, everything was moving, everywhere, and in the second ether game, you had your own helpers, that would be everywhere, like a universal force of help, but this is simply enemys that barely think about there movement, and towers that sit and defeat the "offensive" feel of ether. So in simple, this TD is too much of a TD.

Ether War is a game with a fairly rare concept and was well executed. This is just tower defense. Ether War 2 would be much better.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Maybe more of a challenge, the first ether game was actually kind of hard. In some circumstances I'd lose, this game I beat every time without even thinking. Get a speed up button, more upgrades, more towers, and mostly more skills. 3/5

i like them game in general, what annoys me though - and that is a fault many games like this have - is the missing grid...it is quite hard to position the towers perfectly aligned...otherwise nice one

they should make new game about ether war.....that game is AWSOME!!
this one is little boring make fast botton please....3\5

It really needs zoom. Besides that, the enemy effects are much too random and game-breaking. Given how slowly you gain new turrets, and the fact that you lose ether every time you sell a turret with upgrades on it, and that you don't know the enemy effects/patterns/speed until the level starts means you essentially have to tear down you entire turret net every wave and rebuild it in a few seconds once you learn what you're up against. Having so few turrets means you can't really put in one or two turrets with certain abilities 'just in case', but have to orient your entire net for the current threat - which the gameplay (limited update currency and strong negative-sum sellback) doesn't support.

First, need to zoom out. Everything is all up in my face. I can't even give any more suggestions, because I refuse to even go through the intelligence-insulting Tutorial without being able to zoom out.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Why are tutorials nowadays insulting to player intelligence? I'd have liked to try and figure out the controls for myself.
