The controls are pretty ugly and even the first level got boring about halfway through, because I had gotten all sorts of towers fully upgraded by then, nothing new out there and tons of waves left. The tower targetting AI is silly and the fact that you can't change it makes this a bit annoying to play. The pathfinding AI sucks, because if you trick the first penguin with the build & sell strategy, all the rest will follow every single one of the first ones footsteps, even when it's obvious there's no path that gets closer to the finish in that direction.

Needs Hotkeys,Next wave button,Badges,More enemies,Shorter waves,Speed up Button,They need to say what upgrading a tower will do,Better how to instructions, and some fixes to some bugs.

These maps are ridiculously long. The first 20 or so waves may be a bit of a struggle, but I could just zone out after that - I've always got my maze built and enough missile turrets in place to take care of everything. If you're going to have such massively long maps, the difficulty ought to be scaled up so that the final boss doesn't die the second it enters the screen. I'd prefer if the maps weren't sequential (you didn't need to unlock them) - a shorter story/campaign mode makes sense, but 50-70 waves per map and no way to send waves early makes for a lot of tedium in getting to later maps. The clear button being "c" throws me off - and lack of hotkeys, as someone else has mentioned, is pretty distressing. For the pathfinding AI - it's pretty funky. Juggling is laughably easy and at one point I had a dead end from updating my maze - and all the penguins went into it! After a few waves they stopped - but it was still fairly bizarre while it lasted.

I was surprised to see this made the front page. There is no information - you can't see how much damage towers do or how much an upgrade will affect them other than increased range. After the first 20-25 waves, you can pretty much put the game on auto-pilot as it doesn't get much harder. Just buy heat towers, upgrade, win. The 'achievements' are a very weak addition and give you very little incentive beyond just beating each level. No keyboard shortcuts hurts too. Either be able to hold a key to place multiples or hit a numeric key to trigger each building. In this flooded genre, 2/5.

Remembered this game and scrolled through a bunch of old Kongregate TD games to find it.... man, my memories of it were really much better. The top comments really sum it up, playing it now it's really basic and poorly designed - still, it greatly entertained me as a kid, so I guess that's something.

It actually doesn't even matter what towers you build. get through level 26 and you are going to beat the level. read the comments... play another game. whatever you want.

Good concept (pinguins <3), but the actual game is not worked-out at all. Absolutely needs hotkeys + more information about damage, range, fire rate and how upgrades affect them. Also more variety in enemies would diminish the boringness (e.g. immunity, fast..). Speed up button would come in handy too.

yeh it needs a next wave button and make it so like when u hold on SHIFT u can keep clicking until ur dun building. im also writing this while my fkn over powered heat ray towers are killing everything :P 4/5

no keyboard control ? i have to click tower icons thousand times... pretty annoying... and - the game is boring... i give 3/5 because i like the graphics style...

A decent TD game, might be a tad too easy though. Getting all perfect waves even first try is a little worrying :P 4/5.

performance seems ok. Occasionally I'd be unable to place towers if the game had be paused for too long.
It needs more levels, I think, and a better save system. Everytime I close the browser, I have to start all over again.

You need to up the complexity on this lots before it'll be a fun game, Show damage towers do, stop missile towers from targeting air, difficulty needs to go way up, Towers need to be more distinct, and there needs to be a lvl indicator on the upgrade button, some of the towers look to similar between different levls at differnt angles
and really really really really nerf missile towers, 6 of em can beat any mission with some slow

i've played every Desktop tower defense game on kongregate.. thats good anyways. this game needs, quick upgrade keys while selecting a unit.. like U for upgrade and S for sell... also needs a increase game speed option, and also achievments togo along with getting every medal..and most important needs SEND NEXT WAVE NOW button.. gets boring waiting :P and getting perfect on every single wave.... cant think of anything else right now.. but add those :D please

coolcat said it earlier and a couple other people, but we'd all love our shortcuts:
s - sell; u - upgrade; shift - place multiple towers. A speed multiplier or a next wave button would be awesome.
Also, if you could put in what an upgrade does to the weapon, like +5 damage or +5 speed. And finally if you can put a way to see how much health an enemy has left, like a number when you click on the enemy. I hope that's not too much but lots of TD's have that capability.

love the animation the overall game design is good all around nice but it doesnt have the feel of a Tower Defense map kinda easy for my taste but yes u need hotkeys and stats help us (The players) to see how much the upgrades help us

Very good concept, poor design 2.5/5...but with a few minor tweeks here and there could easily be 4.5/5. Just add a speed up button, hotkeys, grid on/off button, and a few more upgrades...and make it more interesting...such as adding elemental damage to the towers and resistances/immunities the the enemy wave...this would make it much more fun...and stratigic

I'm not sure whether this is part of the game, but on Lvl1, there are tiles were I can't place a tower. It shows as red, and when I click to place, it just doesn't place!

I still really want to like this game. A little more constructive criticism compared to my last post...
Performance: stellar.
Controls: When I place a tower down, it should start shooting IMMEDIATELY.
When I click on a tower type, I can only mean one thing: "I want to place this tower type, not what I had selected before". Please honor my wish, don't make me actually press 'C' to cancel my previous selection. (Sure, I have a way to get what I want, but interfaces are either smooth or annoying. Don't annoy us.)
Let me shift-click to drop another of the same tower in a new location. (It's annoying to have to mouse back to get the next tower.)
There are other similar complaints, but you get the idea. Smooth out the interface, the graphics and performance are fine.
Difficulty level: it's pretty easy until you get to level 70 of the last maze.

hrmm, i actually built up a maze on level 2 upgraded some stuff, and spent about 10mins reading other peoples comments on this game, to scroll up and have everything still working fine around wave 60... ?? lol needs to have harder enemies or something

Noticed 1 thing; when A level ends you're able to sell all your towers and that adds on to your final Money Bonus (x5)
