I just want to point out that we're almost up to five straight years of EBF4 sitting on the front page of Kongregate. That is quite the testament, Matt. I'm proud to have seen you come this far.

Let's be honest here.
Some Kong devs are heroes among the Browser game community. But Matt...you sir, are a Legend. You (along with a few others; Pseudolonewolf comes to mind, and so do several more) have made a true masterpiece in the RPG genre. I tip my hat to you and give you my utmost congratulations. You have more than paid your bill for life, and from the looks of it you plan to do even more. Here's to another good game and another 9 long years of brilliant, amazing and hilarious games.

It's great games like this that make me wish kong had an account save feature, so you coud access your save game on different computers like armor games does.

Anyone who has played EBF3 before invariably spends the first 10-30 minutes nosing round town trying to pick up freebies before going anywhere XD

I didn't believe it was possible, but this game actually exceeds the third part by far. I particularly like that the fourth character can switch into the battle anytime, instead of just watching his/her comrades being slaughtered. You're also a good man for replacing the single inn of the third game with the rather abundant slime bunnys - walking the damage off or teleporting to The Town was often annoying. 5/5 and favourited!

Since the bestiary is a bit tough to navigate here's a list of all the monsters that drop stat boosting food. HP - Yellow Wasp, Red Wasp MP - Beach Crab, Cave Crab Attack - Brown Bear, Chimera Bear Defence - Evil Tail, Evil Worm Magic attack - Fire Elemental, Thunder Elemental, Ice Elemental Magic defence - Flame Wraith, Frost Wrath, Spark Wraith Accuracy - Big Green Bush, Big Muddy Bush Evade - Big Snow Slime, Big Sand Slime. HP,MP, Defence and Magic defence foods have 1% drop rate, the others have 2%.

Hm, I need an axe to get past this bush. Oh, look! A shop! I'll have that axe, please. What do you mean you don't sell axes, I can see one right there! Behind you! That axe right there! Oh, never mind... if I just wander around long enough I'm sure I'll find one. Right?

Some minor interface updates for version 1.0.9:
• Damage numbers now change color if damage is effected by resistance. Red-ish for super effective, dark gray for not very effective.
• The option to disable tips is back.
• Equip type is now shown when buying at a shop.
• "Sell All" button added to item shops.
• Added some links to my new site.

Are you suppose to get curse from wearing equipment that randomly curses you despite having 100% resistance to curse?

Just a small suggestion, maybe you could add a text backwards button, or/and an option to view the most recent text. Sometimes when you're roaming around you're spam pressing the space bar looking for hidden treasure, and suddenly some text will appear and disappear as fast as it came. It's a bit annoying, since I like the story, and the tips can be helpful sometimes.

I went really hard for EBF3, and when I saw this on the front page of Kongregate, I was incredibly excited, but wary at the same time. Could a sequel to such a good game [EBF3] possibly be better? The answer to that question is a definitive YES. This game is wonderful, incredible, exciting, fresh, and pure brilliance. kupo, you have made the best game in the series to date, let alone probably one of the best games on Kongregate nonetheless. Thank you so much for the time and work you put into your games; they're absolutely beautiful and a joy to play for hours on end.

I can call upon the power of the heavens, draw upon the blood of the dragon, call upon the earth and soil... but I can't seem to crack this boulder without a hammer.

"TIP: Use attacks to hurt enemies. Defeat enemies to win."
Man, four hours in and NOW you tell me! Ugh I've been doing this all wrong!

Just a tweak, but items in the shops should say what they are (flair, bow, sword, etc.), as it isn't always inherently obvious.

Instructions for copying file from one computer to another: Search the computer for "EBF4" without quotation marks. Files named similar to "EBF4file1.sol" or "EBF4file1" should show up. Each of these represent a savefile. Copy this file to a USB or however you like to share files. When on the other computer, play the game and save it. Then search for "EBF4" on that computer as well, find the file and replace it with the one you brung from the other computer. This method can also be used to backup your save file. Hope this helps.

So I have all the quests done...
And I have a piece of Bacon left over.
I can only assume the Bacon is God Cats weakness.

"Who needs biodiversity when everything is trying to kill you?" I think that statement applies to any action adventure game, haha.

It would be nice if we could make marks on map squares where there are things we need to come back for, so we know where to backtrack to with new items.

oddly enough ive looked on google for a slimecat plushie adn cant find one, not even a fan made one ( idea for a small fund raiser?)

Thank you for another great game! My only suggestion would be to allow for continue of play after godcat so that we can go back and get all of the items/areas we may have missed. And why receive loot from the boss if you can't use it? :)

I'm still trying to figure out what causes the bug related to dead slimed-players. All I know is that sometimes slimed-players don't revert to human form properly when killed. I haven't been able to reproduce this, so if anyone sees this, send me as much info about it as you can. Including what skills you were using when the player was slimed, what killed them, and what animations played when they died etc. (a video of the battle would be awesome).

Updated to version 1.0.7!
The only difference is that I've changed the compression method to something older. This means the game is slightly bigger, but it might fix some compatibility problems. Most people probably won't notice a difference though. If you do, tell me plz.

Dude, I've been following you since the "Black Mages" flash-cartoons I found on Newgrounds years ago. I can only say not only has your artistry and style improved GREATLY, your ability to make engrossing AND addictive games is IMO nearly unmatched in the freelance RPG-genre. Epic is hardly a word for this game in particular lol. When are you going to port games to an actual console I wonder?

Just uploaded a new version! I've fixed Revive's power, made sure Oak doesn't buff himself more than once in a row, possibly fixed a counter-attack related bug, made music transitions faster, and fixed the Slime bug... I probably made other changes, but I don't remember them. I also added a feature where you can easily transfer saved games to Kongregate from other sites, though you won't see that if you only play here. It should say version 1.0.1 now.

I'm sad that no-legs name didn't get introduced in the introduction where they introduce people. No-Legs is my hero ~T-T~

Just uploaded version 1.0.5.
Your options should save correctly now, and the level of the monsters in the bestiary should be correct in Newgame+ now.
