I want to like this game. But it is way too hard to judge the distance.
If you press delete it will put a cog back to the panel, and it will delete the spoke you can place cogs on.

It's the wrong way round. And so? It's a game, and a nicely written one. Only obvious bug is that the DEL key will delete *everything*, which is trivial.
I've got to level 12 and haven't cracked it yet. The first 11 levels got a little harder each time, exactly as they should.
A very nicely written game, good graphics, good music, one (very minor) bug. Well done authors! 4/5 :)

nice game! and I dont know why people bother about "this is not how windmills work" IT'S A GAME! it doesn't need to be realistic!

I this it's very well put together. The art style is beautiful, and the concept is fun. However, it's difficult for me to tell that the gears are meshing when I place them, or if they are just really close. There is an OCD part of me that wishes they really meshed well together, it would be much more satisfying for me.

This is a poorly disguised attack on wind power generation by the big-oil tycoons! Of course they'd have you think the only real source of energy has to be dug up.... I'm on to you!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good concept, poor execution. It's very hard to whether gears will move each other in certain locations or not fit at all without actually trying different combinations. Making this more of a trial and error exercise than a thinking game.

A nice game! What's cool and kind of funny is that my Physical Science class is reviewing on simple machines, and we're on gears right now! lol

This is completely reversed. The windmills should be the gears which are turning, and the one which starts turning should be the goal. Apart from that really jarring mistake, it's not a bad puzzle.

Im probably the only person who knows how wind works before you read this, who played this game soo far. Wind works through the sun heating up ground, cause the air on the ground to heat up and therefore become lighter and rise. Then currents are made in the air from the forces. The background to the game is light therefore these people need to get some air.
Other than that they use gear trains etc properly and it was quite enjoyable to sit back and play with the music. 2/5 game.

very good game i like this kind of mind games but i think it should be harder i mean there is always a level that u can't pass or spend maybe an hour trying but its not in this game.....but 5/5 GREAT GAME :D

Along with the other energy issues (needing wind power with perpetual motion machines) apparently the gears themselves require light to exist. If you remove it, gears in dark areas just disappear.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well obviously the windmills being hooked up to the gears are supposed to generate more wind, so the wind can then drive the windmills again, winding the gears back up for the next time they need to use them to get more wind.
Makes perfect sense.

just wanna say i entered a level (7) and not all holes were there - returning to menu and reopening level 7 showed all the holes.

Very original games, but it isn't very logic. If you had a wheel that started turning by an underground river, it was better. Especially the forge wheels are original. You should make a level pack with a few updates and maybe without power from wheels under the ground, but by reflecting the sunlight?

"I think that part of the preface of the game should explain that a rushing underground river was discovered, and that is being used to turn a gear which is to be used to turn the windmill which is used to power the town... (instead of just directly powering the town itself...) Solar alternative much?" - Developer
Then they should have made use of hydroelectricity, they're most the way there already. Is this the village Rube Goldberg came from?

Obviously you, sir, are a kindred spirit. I remember when MY windmill seized up and all the wind in the world stopped blowing. My only qualm is the simplicity of this game. Obviously a machine as complicated as a windmill takes more than a few gears to create the wind for a village.

Nice game, just needs some tweaking. Especially controls... it got little bit tedious with handling the wheels. I wouldnt mind the forge wheels handling kind of thing (but you could only create preset number and types of wheels, no change there), then there is no need to always painfully select new wheel in case you pick the wrong one. Also... there could be more forge wheel levels, those were the best.

Ah, I get it! The villagers need income from tourists. And tourists want windmills that look like they work properly and don't stand still. So, the villagers bought one of those experimental small nuclear reactors, hid it deep in the ground and power the windmills with the power it generates. Clever! ;)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why dont turn it around? that the village needs energy and that they've built windmills and you need to do the gearwork?! That make's alot more sense. + if you agree!

Beautifull little game. As others said earlier, the story doesn't make mutch sense, but I don't think you realy care mutch about that. The artwork is magnificent. I find myself dissaponted every level because I can't explore these lovely caves. :)

I enjoyed this game thoroughly! just need to improve it, slap on a few badges so more people will play it, and increase the difficulty a bit! ( it wasn't too easy, it's just it got easier as it got on ) congrats on this enjoyable game! ^^
