Step 1: Google "phoebe tristram reuben kaeli"
Step 2: Look at first Link
Step 3: Facepalm
How can you spend so much time making this game and then copy paste all the character names from FF mystic quest...cmon take 1 minute to think up some new names its not that hard. Down to 3/5 for from 4 for being lazy.

I really, really like this game - fantastic job. I never did figure out how the battle order works, but no big deal. My only real complaint is that aside from the hard and expert levels of Zombie Defense, I felt that it was far less challenging than a game this good should be. 5/5 anyway.

Random order of characters during battle, no equipment stats, stupid skill system, no possibility of set up characters in any kind of array (tank in first line etc.) - that's why i hate jrpg...

2 things i would like to see mabye a full monsterlist of monsters u have battled during the game and last not least some Badges plz Awesome game tho 5/5

I think the difficulty on Expert is a tad overdone, I mean to the point where winning isn't a question of skill anymore. I'm kind of a veteran of these swapping games, and I can barely keep up with the zombie spawn pace. If you don't swap instantly AND get frequent doubles you'll lose out to spawn, but you won't win just by swapping instantly. You have to get at least two big chain reactions to win, thus the luck factor. Had to post this after the second time I've swapped for three minutes straight, then noticed the boss had the same amount of health as he had about 5 seconds after I started (after free hits from pre-spawn).

what is the level cap? cuase i would grind to 90 for all the abilities :p i just hope it isn't 50 :/ 60 is ok though :p
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Should be noted that this game is EXTREMELY easy. If you're looking for a challenging RPG, look elsewhere. Some of the aspects reminded me of Exit Fate, which is a pretty challenging, free and MUCH longer RPG.
Not that you should add more grinding to make for a harder game, but money comes way too easily, items are constantly showered on you (honestly, once you get the right purples that help your characters' abilities, you just need to upgrade them every level), and there's not enough monster diversity and 'scare' factors to them to make the game a threat after... well, ever.
Regardless of that, I had a fun time, but it wasn't something I could sit down for more than an hour and want to finish. I felt I needed to put it down 5 or 6 times because it felt tedious from how easy it was.

i get achivements in game but i cant view them? Nice game tho 5/5 already 7hours playing :D

There is a small bug I encountered.
I was being attacked by a monster and during the fade-out for the fight I tried to access my backpack. The screen went black with just my character there and I couldn't do anything.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So I keep getting poisoned even though the attack "misses." Maybe if the game checked for a miss before checking to see if status effects are applied?

Hey guys, Lan here. I have been hearing a lot about lost saves recently. I think you can back up the file I'm not sure. The save file location should be in (win 7) C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\\chat.kongregate.com\gamez\0012\5281\live\rpg.swf
Oh I messed up the address... let me try it again. The file name should be rdgDataSlot(number). C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\(somenumber)\chat.kongregate.com\gamez\0012\5281\live\rpg.swf

I think we need a Spell Video, like u choose to use "Thunder Bolt". The screen becomes black for 1 second, then u see a little videclip that it makes show a part of the attack. It would be fantastic, because that reminds me Final Fantasy ^-^

What did you use to make this game?,i think you used flash but there is another program that i know that would easily be capable of making this soooo.....?

There is 50 level's in Crystal Story. The first 25 levels are to do with the main story quests and side quest's, while the last 25 are optional. Reaching Level 50 will give you an optional Boss. Vote this so everyone can see please. ;]

That was a good RPG, especially for a flash site. It's a little too easy to beat without leveling (I beat the "final" boss at level 16) but it was a good concept. I especially like the ability to mix and match character classes if you so desire.

wow great game gave u perfect 5/5 and i think you could make this game into a great ds/3ds, wii or arcade game for XBOX live. maybe you could ask the newgrounds team to help make it to onto a console like they did with alien hominid/castle crashers/meatboy i bet it woul be a smash just like one of those

Good game, pretty simplistic though. After the first few boss fights there's not a lot of challenge left; would've liked to see more bosses along the lines of Dargon. Similarly, some of the birds/werewolves/occasionally samurai could be a threat but otherwise most enemies are a joke. The fights are more challenging if you don't thoroughly clean out each floor for money/experience, but that also makes navigation really inconvenient since you miss out on maps and portals.

Bagh, and my saved game is gone as I switch computers... lordy, if only kongregate would let you search for games based on how you saved games were kept (locally or if they actually kept your save files). This is such a disappointing and disaticfy trend that seem to be striking all of the rpg's on this site. Not everyone is just going to live at one computer all day.

And finally something funny: In the last battle, Reuben had to be revived twice by Kaeli (what coincidences are there - he was revived by Kaeli because she was the one from the three others who were not very efficient against single enemies).

Then some advice.
1. Healers are unnecessary. It is cheaper to buy potions and use them than to heal with spells and use Aether.
2. My characters were: Tristam was a Fighter, Kaeli a Rogue, Phoebe a Fighter and Reuben a Mage (interesting that it was all influenced by my first epic weapons). Soon it became evident that Tristam and Phoebe were the most decent against single opponents (Phoebe's Shockwave is extraordinary, though), and Kaeli and Reuben against more (interesting, Kaeli's Scatter Shot is very cost-efficient and often dealt more damage to each opponent to the Double Shot altogether - same for Reuben's Icy Chill and Ice Bolt).
3. Buffs were only useful in the very last battle, against Dargon. I didn't need them any other time.

Here is my opinion and advice (this will be long).
The game is great, simply 5/5. First, I'll tell what I did not like (everything else was epic, some of these I'll detail later).
1. What Rurreck said: A table of strike order would've been great.
2. Too short.
3. The One Ring. I know, it raises all stats, but for highly specialised characters (just like mine), this was not very good
4. Slightly slow character development towards the end of the game.
Now to the good points:
1. This game seemed to be some sort of 'blend' between Monsters' Den and MARDEK in my eye; merely that made it great.
2. The Armoury - it was a unique and original idea (at least, I've never met anything like that before).
3. Skill System - I really liked it.
4. Balanced Characters - I'll detail that in my next comment.
5. Entertaining characters and storyline (however, Phoebe was a bit cliche for me, but the others were fun).

I wish some clarification. Does Koeli's skill Double Shot benefit more from a physical based weapon or a magic based weapon? Since the skill Double Shot consumes Magic points, is it considerd a magical attack then? I would appreciate any clarification on this matter.

How the HECK is kings league better then this!? All you do in kings league is put guys on a field, they run and kill each other. You don't get to control them, you can't customize them, you just press a few buttons and watch.

Great so far I'm loving it! The music, EPIC! I mean this is the best RPG so far I've EVER played! Keep up the Awesome work!

Oh one cool thing i just thought of would be the ability to go deeper than your current level on the random dungeon generator. So if your level 20 you beat it you could be asked if you want to go deeper (aka lvl 21)with the opportunity to decline. This way it can get increasingly more challenging because leveling up with creatures of you own level is so slow.

Two small things i would like to see is when there is only one enemy you shouldn't have to click him to target him. This would save a lot of clicking. Second is selling or feeding if you have multiple pages of items. Every time you sell or feed from a page other than page one it goes back to page one which is really annoying. With this goes the need to be able to arrange items and spells as well. All in all this is the best flash rgp i have played in a long time.

Great game, however somethings could be improved:
- General information on stuff. Spell damage, whos going to attack next, how speed affects turns ( sometimes someone gets 3 turns in a row other times they take forever to attack, with the same speed), description on what some RS do( like fury) without the need to use them
-Be able to upgrade things in our inventory (equipping and un equipping them for the sake of upgrading can get annoying)
Still awsome game ,5/5
