I agree with the major complaints - a lot of the main elements of the game are just badly designed. It's obvious a lot of work and craft went into the game, but the inventory, save system, pet death system, battle/movement system and isometric view all make the game far more frustrating to play than it should be.

Take me about an hour to collect all the sand beetle shells, but right after I get about 50 one after the other, Complete an utter Bull-spanky.

Tip: Fighting two enemies at once is better than fighting one. You can switch who you are attacking between them. When you switch who you are attacking you will attack that enemy right away. So by doing this you will be killing two monsters at the same speed as killing one. But, I would not suggest doing this until you are a little higher lvl than the monsters and also not against ice creatures. Hope it helps.

Big sailor dude: Help us destroy these beetles!!! They will destroy us all!!! (Your character whacks them with a stick) Yay you beat them up we'll do anything for you!!
I think the game needs an explanation for why a big sailor dude doesn't know how to pick up a stick and whack beetles himself.

so, hard badge is done, this game is a little difficulty(but i like it) and the pet is not that usefull(can die to fast, i was most time run alone and let my pet stay behind to get free xp, but with this fact the pet was even more useless :/
the inventory is big, but with all gear parts you can use you have mosty only 4 spaces left for Qitems, food, potions and maybe a Castaway Feather. Antidote is waste of space and useless, because it can fail and most enemys just hit and poison you again (1 hp per sec is not that strong)
i give the game a 3/5

Movement should be automatic upon mouse-click like when attacking monsters. This will make the whole game mouse only.

I know there's a new version of this game but it would be fantastic if you could fix the minor flaws, such as inventory space, in this one

Well, knewred, I guess the main complaint with the pet is that while your character has the ability to get equipment and abilities to improve, the pet has no such, so I guess they seem to die quicker that way... but I have thought about it. Maybe one is supposed to branch out with pets that way. And the reason the poison seems like a failure is that the efficiency of the poison does not increase with either your level or the enemy; it's more like something to overcome, I guess. And, despite what convincing arguements you possess, the drop rate for quest items is really frustrating.

its a great game in all but the thing is finding shards can get annoying, we need more inventory slots, and the pets die way to fast and the pets take way to long to hatch

Useful exploit: When you use an ability, click the enemy immediately afterward. If timed properly, you'll execute the same ability twice in a row.
Also, just some areas of improvement...when I try to put a space in my pet's name (in my case, "Big Red") the game doesn't recognize capitalization in the second word ("Big red"). I'd also like to see a hotkey system for abilities (haven't played Castaway 2 yet, so idk if you've done this already).

1.The castaway feather takes too long to use, i died several times because of it 2.Should add a pet breeding system, pet armor, and better pet potions instead of berries for the whole game, including revival potions for your pets.

Sandbeetle: Ummm sir, theres a dude in armour charging us. What should we do? Other beetle: Just let him attack us and force the 1 getting attacked to fight. "but he has a really strong pet! "bring in the sand snakes"

also the game needs some sort of rest option that makes your hp regen faster but makes you take more damage wile your resting as a side effect

There's so much good about this game that I'm conflicted. The art and music is excellent. However, there are many minor things that detract from the overall experience. No semi-transparency on props means that I can end up fighting monsters I can't see. No arrows on exits means there's no easy way to tell where they are. It's ok to have both the keyboard and mouse control the character, but why bother why the keyboard if everything else is done through the mouse (no hotkeys, no way of attacking without clicking on a monster). I'd rather just see it be entirely through the mouse.

-(1)- click on a creep not near you -(2)- hit the special attack you want to use [you will move and use that attack on the targeted enemy] -(3)- after your special hits but before your character makes an auto-attack, click on the enemy you're fighting [this will perform the special attack on the creep a second time as soon as you click] -(notes)- this can save you tons of HP and time, especially if you have a pet that can freeze and have the ice sword (5th generator onward)

Pets are underpowered. No gear, slower leveling since they don't gain it from quests, and die very quickly. I kept having to save my first pet and would restart when I lost it. Why? Because it's cool looking and cute. Also, enemies need to be a tad weaker, for I always gotta get a level or two higher than the next area or I end up doomed. Also, what's with the slow health regeneration only for YOU and NOT your pet? + if you think pets need to be better.

The freeze debuff is painfully inconsistent. sometimes it will prevent me from moving. sometimes it won't let me attack. on occasion, both will happen at once. This debuff is so terrible, it made me want to stop playing all on its own.

Rested at the Inn to full health, saved the game, went to Castaway Beach and then died to the first beetle on the first quest. No thanks. It's a shame, the game looks like it could be pretty decent and a lot of effort went into it but there are some pretty glaring problems that everyone else here has already mentioned. Obviously, I didn't get far enough to notice an issue with the inventory but I can tell you keyboard movement was extremely awkward. For me anyway, I felt like the controls should have been rotated counter-clockwise 90 degrees as that seems to be the standard. Then again, it should have just been click to move anyway.

Hit level 4 just doing the first 8 beetle shell quest. That should tell you everything about how bad your quest droprate is. To turn around after that and get a 20 shell quest? No thanks.

ok, so i see a serious problem(s). first, every time i get hit by a snake, i get poisoned, sooo not fair. second, when you buy armor and weapons, you have to wait until you get in the field to change equipment. third, your pet is stupid. he always goes around the long way and by the time he gets back, the enemy is dead.
