there is very much to improve, but the graphics and performance is alright. More Upgrades, Money Magnet, different Ship visuals.
Especially the Money Magnet!! 99% of all hits I got came from greedyness!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
needs non weapon upgrades! like inc speed and hp and money magnet. also needs money magnet and lives for a level. so like you die 2 times before losing
and you can upgrade how many lives you have. excellent game otherwise. if you add all the things i recommend, than your game will probably be legendary! by the way, im 9 years old coming up with this :D

"Freeze Time" should mean enemies slow or stop moving, not 'the screen goes blurry and you slow down so they can kick your butt faster'. This game has so much wrong with it it's a joke. If you buy the wrong weapon, you can't sell it AND you can't make more money for new weapons until you beat the level you bought the wrong weapon for. There's no way to know ahead of time because the damage stat is a secret. You can't replay levels to grind either. Just start over.

Would be a 5/5 if:
1) you didn't have to be so precise when trying to pick up cash... like really, it's just tedious
2) you could replay levels you've already beaten for more cash
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Cool enough game, but like the others said, we need replay or else we need a little better cash system than trying to pick dimes off the ice rink while fighting.

I know I'm not the first to point this out, but this game has two things I think horribly cripple it. 1: You have to be ridiculously close to debris to pick it up. 2: There's no replaying past levels in case you didn't pick up a decent amount of money, except by restarting the whole game.

FFS! Is it really unreasonable for all flash games, at least those with frantic action, to have the setting so that the game pauses when focus is lost from the gamefield? I'm sick of my character suddenly freezing and being open to attack because I leave the play area for a second. The obvious answer would be to lock the cursor until pressing pause/escape/etc (is that possible?) or making the game fullscreen so that there isn't anywhere for the mouse to go... seriously this should be a standard thing by now.

weapons to purchase(in order):Arc Spread,4 homing,Big laser, rail gun, lightning,short shield, duck.
Tips-in levels with a single type of slow enemy that bunches together, wait for them all to spawn then kill en-mass with rail/laser for MASSIVE cash
In levels with multiple types of enemy's do not worry about getting cash, thats what the slow levels are for, just concentrate on living. Secondly most later levels and some early levels lighting/shortshiled are about all you will need, use up your lightning then use short shield during recharge
ANY BOSS(including last): sit in them and use up lighting, then finish with whatever, they will die almost instantly and even the last boss will have 7/8ths of its life gone.
Level 29 Lightning/rail gun/big laser hit the right side first, then go to the bottom/top and get rid of those, use lighting in corners as it will hit 4-5 turrents at once, rail gun also does mass damage to turrents and if you line up 2 in its site it will hit them both.

Another problem i noticed is that you cannot take a weapon away from the assignment from a number, which would have helped with the function of the Q button because the scroll also affects the page

Yeah, the game starts out pretty good. But after putting some time in it starts to suck as is so typical these days. Around level 45 I started losing interest as Heavy Weapons started becoming less of a game and more of a job. Weapons are now inadequate, you stop accumulating money so you can't advance. Game over, game over, game over...screw that. So game over then. Time to look for something else a little more fun.

Short shield is strong, but kinda tricky to use.btw, never buy duck death,it's a waste of money and you can't replay level
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The duck is OK… maybe not worth the cost, but there seems to be a bug where it's will be fully charged but I can't fire it.

The best way to beat the last boss is to use Shortshield and Lightning. Jump on top of him, spam lightning until it's almost used, then spam shortshield until that's almost done, and keep switching. The boss will be dead in around 5 seconds, he won't even get to his other phases.

No magnet on a collection game is inexcusable. Can't replay levels, but for some reason each one has stats, "Fastest Time" "Best Score" "Most Cash", as if you are supposed to somehow be able to increase them.

On level 5, I was using the sprailer and ricochet, I wasn't paying attention to my kills, eventually I died, and it played the WHAT THE FU-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM thing.....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not a great game. A good idea, yes, but the execution ends up making it not so fun. For those having trouble on level 58: use lightening, then time, then shortshield, and repeat (credit to Mr. Undead). It makes that level a piece of cake.

Do you guys remember when the BotD was chosen for a high quality game that was engaging, fun, and well developed. I do. That is why this game is being rated 1/5 by me. Kong, if you are reading this, have the person responsible for selecting the BotD actually PLAY the games before making it official!!

Can't replay lvls, no magnet, can't keep the money I earned b4 I got killed, now I'm stuck on this fricking lvl and no way to finish the game, and no way I see to reset the game. If I'd known this BEFORE I started playing I might have made more thrifty purchasing decisions..... this game is a fail.

Fun game, lots of balancing issues though. Like the Arc Spread is useful until lvl 40's, while more expensive things like Reversal are completely useless on almost every lvl. If you just use lightnings entire charge, it kills more than the duck of death. Which is more than 5x as expensive. Still pretty good though, I guess.

Farming:
If you really want to be ready to farm for money, get a large aoe weapon that can take out a large group of enemies at once, at one spot. Vortex + Bomb, or even bomb alone can be good. When you're close to the goal, get a ish ton of enemies following you, then blast them at once and grab the goodies before the timer runs out.
Strategies
Obviously vortex + bomb is nice. The Lightning weapon has immense damage at about the exact spot your ship is. You can sacrifice a hit to jump on top and blast the heck out of a spawner. The last weapon is a fun weapon. It can attack only one enemy at a time, but if it kills it, it will seek out the next target automatically. You can fire then switch to the next weapon directly after. Sometimes better to die rather than win with very little money gathered. The Ricochet is a solid early weapon. I prefer crowd control over aiming. I keep the lightning weapon for its versatility, energy homing missiles, and the last weapon.
Good luck!

jeez level 58 took me forever. I didn't have to try any level more than twice (the final boss took about 4 or 5 tries), but level 58 was so cheap. literally took me over an hour. The giant sphere weapon the key to beating 58 for me, and Duck + Big laser + lock on laser did the trick for the final boss.

lets see... you MUST pick up money, which WILL disapear very quickly after it drops AND you don't get any money if you lose AND you can't replay levels until you beat the game.
Basically, if you want the best weapon in the game as soon as possible, you gotta suffer through many levels with crappier weapons to save.

Just got the hard badge. The trick is to use the BFG, the energy homers, and the duck, firing the first and last of them whenever they're ready and using the homers while both cool down.

This game is the main reason why you playtest things before you publish them. After a certain point, your weapons slowly are outmatched by the sheer flood of enemies rushing into your ship until you are completely unable to deal with half of the things that pop into existence all over the level, and you spend a good chunk of this game being hit by enemies with health you can't lower fast enough coming from places you couldn't see at speeds your crappy ship can't deal with until you hit game over.

I noticed references to the Boxhead games, Space Invaders, and Geometry Wars.
I love the way the space invaders have choppy animations, looks like they're from an 80's music video lol.
