So... when are you going to get the multiplayer working?
Because that would make this the most playing thing on Kong. Guaranteed.

I lost so many days to Quake even years after it was released. To think that I can now play it in Flash...
Damn, technology has moved on.

More console commands, typing...
"Give 3-8" will give you weapons
"Impulse -1" will give you Quad damage
"Give 999" will give you ammo, must put shells, nails, rockets, or cells in place
"God" no damage taken

would be nice if we could play it in fullscreen, then we wouldn't have the issue with that stupid mouse --> +Mlook doesn't work…
Just wondering if somebody could add that frigging button…

@matteson - This is not the first FPS game in existence, for the real grandaddy of them all, check out "Wolfenstein 3D". That was the groundbreaker that catapulted the FPS genre into prime time. Quake was the first one that made multiplayer FPS games a playable reality. For that it deserves its place in computer game folklore.

There are four reasons for me to play this game right now: First, I haven't played the original, and I would be a failure as a gamer to not even try this classic. Second: The original was an awesome game, and I could go for some more fun right now. Third: It's awesome to see that flash is finally starting to get these capabilities. And lastly: This must've taken you quite a bit of work to port this into flash, and I'd be ashamed of the entire Kongregate community if that work wasn't rewarded.

Good port, but honestly pointless. There is no reason to play it in flash. Also kongregate does not allow fullscreen which hurts this game a lot, since the mouse goes offscreen quite a bit during turning.

The control system needs one change that can't be done in game as is. The mouse should pan without holding the left button, so that button can be fire. Makes for much more natural control. Having to hit ctrl to fire requires using the same hand as for movement (because mouse panning is indispensable), and that just feels awkward.

I've only played 1 level and it is already better than modern warfare 2!! Just needs to keep the mouse in the game screen for it to work properly in flash version.

Quake dwarfs the other games here, with graphics in the Kongregate sector. Unable to deem this as a dwelling in the past. Kongregate is use to charming graphics and function that are not that professional as Quake. That is a huge step forward from the mundane that Kongregate surprises the base users in a good way. Which raises the value of Kongregate and the fan database. Does Kongregate a lot of good, these model advances.

This medieval fantasy 'quake' world brought to kongregate and loaded and interpreted at last. Is in working condition which is unprecedented, sees the light as it should and one of ID company best ideal saga in its series.Truly beautiful.

Actually you do need to aim, in Doom you don't need to point up or down, but its different in Quake. Now for Quake 2 to be put here :).
