great game, but the only real upgrades are sound, graphics and Muti-player (not that those are easy). I was really hoping for more cards than the 6 extras, which prove not so great at the end because you cant get enough resources to cast them. All and all an excellent game, I'll give it 4/5 the first one got 5/5 but I expected more from 2.0. :)

UI is much more annoying than the first game, there's no guides or any form of help for building a deck, getting the unlock cards doesn't help in the campaign because the computer gets them too, difficulty curve from "Easy" to "Medium" is huge... Overall, this one feels tedious and clunky instead of simple and fun like the first.

Perhaps some more options, cards or otherwise, to spice it up would've been great.. Giving it a map, and having the information on it that you did was nice, but all it was for was 'click on next card battle', and it would've been simpler to have a 'next' button between them. I found that the stats of locations didn't really matter in where I went next, and having only 3 teams, with only your turns doing anything was less than stellar. Perhaps increased number, enemy turns, and alliances would have improved it, though that is quite a bit more complicated. Even something as simple as options on what to do on the map, like a 'battle/scout/talk' option would have improved it greatly.
To be concise, this feels like a remake of the first, simply prettier. Add on more options for a sequel, and it'll be a better game.

@Slay60 This is one of the easiest games on this website. The card information isn't well set out but it is adequate. The idea is that you customize the deck to go for a specific strategy. You can win by getting your castle to 100 or reducing your opponents castle to 0. So your deck should specialise in one or the other. If you try a few different strategies out you will find that the game is not difficult and can be quite fun.

i liked the graphics and all the only 2 thing i had a problem with was the resource counter and the info setup but other than that it was alright and the castle growing deal is alright i mean come on lokk at what it looks like when you only have a castle size of 1 compared to the castle size of 30 let alone 100

card info is a mess. Computer gets too much ressource from beginning vs what you have, then it's almost only luck to beat it, all the more than the lower card limit is 75. No strategy is then possible !

Yeah, this game has gotten worse. Im very disappointed. I still play the old castle wars, and ,love it, but this interface, and the castles diminutive size just makes this crap sorry.

uhm... seriously... where are the improvements? campaign mode = cop-out... new graphics = bleh... hard to see resources = WTF... barely new cards = oh gasp / pointless

its so unfortunate that this game had to get worse, it is just the same game with a worse user interface. this makes me sad

This is pretty much the card game from Might and Magic series. I think it could use more special effects etc to make the card play more exciting. Also, having to click card info to see the special card is annoying. Having an info bubble would help.

This Acromage-clone would be a hell of alot better if you went back to basics and redid the original game only with better graphics, or if you aim for it to not be an Acromage-clone, then stop using towers to increase the castle at least. :P

fun gameplay, if only one could enjoy it. easy campaign was FAR too easy, and medium mode pretty much equals discarding your entire deck because you never have enough resources to do anything. 5/10

It's a brilliant game up until hard difficulty. At that point, Curse ruins the game. You already start off with extremely low resources. When the computer starts off with two to three times what you have, and more than enough to cast Curse right from the start, there's no way to come back from it. Yes, you'll always get at least +1 every turn, but that just doesn't cut it when they start with +2 and +3, and the ability to cut yours down any time they rise.
Even this would be fine, except we're limited to only 5 of any given card, meaning we can only get so many resources before the computer cancels out every resource boosting card we've got.
Both of these mechanics work, but not together. Starting the computer with significantly higher resources is well and good, if you give us the chance of increasing ours. But with no resources and no chance of raising our resources, the game becomes not so much fun as frustrating.

Good game. But it is still another version of arcomage from might and magic. Not a lot of originality but the graphic are a nice addition!
