Under rating threshold (show) So much backtracking for such a linear game, and it's not always clear where you're supposed to be headed next. More than once I was out of main quests and there was nowhere obvious to go. The worst was after getting swim. You should indicate that the player is supposed to go way back to the northern checkpoint and swim west from there. Also, the teleportation gimmick at the end to make the player do the same cave twice was stupid and pointless. People, in the last cave, DO NOT TAKE THE LEFT SIDE STAIRS, THEY TAKE YOU BACK TO THE ENTRANCE! But you can bypass the "kill 20 red slimes" quest if you just swim around that island. The maze is crap, the game could do without it. Remove the poison mechanic (it's crap) and balance the monster HP. The map is way too small to see anything worthwhile, and the layout is totally unnatural. If you give the player the ability to swim, let them swim for F's sake! The book mechanic is pure player hate.

Under rating threshold (show) The UI for this game is kind of annoying. If you're going to make the majority of the controls on the keyboard then you should be able to navigate EVERYTHING with the keyboard. Having to switch from both hands on the keyboard to the mouse and back is really annoying.

Under rating threshold (show) Not a terrible game overall considering some of the awful, tragic game design. There is no indication of which stones you can move and which you can't making the puzzles a matter of guesswork. No locations are labelled making it hard to find where to turn in quests and where to go next, which might not be such a problem were the map not a totally unintuitive smattering of random crap. The enemies are really annoying in all the worst ways with guaranteed kill poison (carry antidotes, lots of 'em, always!), enemy spawns at the very edge of the screen where they can hit you during a scene transition, and very tough enemies that require no strategy. Given all that, the rapid leveling is pretty satisfying. Character build: 20 points to Student, 20 to Swords, 20 to Natural Armor, 3 to Axes, rest to Berserker.

Under rating threshold (show) It's strange how bad this game is. It uses the same tried and true button mashing top down 4 directional scroller formula made popular in the original Zelda and successfully modified into modern games that include Hero's Arms, also badged on Kongregate. But then the developer makes what has to be a conscious decision to make it really terrible. Slow move speed, low damage, minimal sense of progress...and that's just things that can be fixed with trivial numerical tweaks. Of course there are the more complex game elements like having any characterization at all, or making a good story, but these come later. It's very possible that even with significant improvements, this game would still rate no higher than a 2. So 3.47? Kongregate badges games based on rating. MMOs get badged because they have a dedicated following that rates it high if no one has to get badges, so it's unfortunate, but understandable. What's the excuse for these badges?

Under rating threshold (show) This is going to sound very harsh, but I am only being so critical to try and give you some useful feedback on your game. So, grain of salt? :\ Here's what your game does badly. The EXP System: The main problem I find with this game is all the grind, but the grind is there because you need exp to get levels, and beat the bigger monsters. Why is the EXP system in the game at all? The build choices are very very shallow, and almost unnoticeable as you level up. If you build incorrectly, the game will punish you for it, but there's very little to cue into to figure out if you're doing it right or not.

Under rating threshold (show) There's the skeleton of a good game here, I know it. Enemies bypass "tough" into the realm of "gratuitously beefy," even building fully strength and grinding for the best possible weapons. The writing is shaky at best and abysmal at worst, often unclear and certainly never compelling. The graphics, which have been taken wholesale from Zelda and RPG Maker, clash horribly with each other. I found myself just glazing over all the text and just skimming for however many of what I needed to kill, which I NEVER do. This game could use a lot of improvement, but it's got a good base system to work with.

Under rating threshold (show) The one thing that bothers me about this is the pushing feature. You make some items pushable and not others, and then you can only push them one space at a time. The inconsistency and limitedness of this is really annoying and irritating, especially because if you mess things up you have to leave and come back to a screen.

Under rating threshold (show) There's lot of grinding, but it's doable. I went for axe as it seems it's the weapon which gives more damage (raw dmg + poison for the best one). Stats full strength, and skills max Axe Mastery and Berserker Hit. Allow 5 to 10 points in Money Collector and Student to help for grinding. Then put 3 points in Sword Mastery and give all the remaining skill points in Natural Armor which gives a nice boost to health. As soon as you can, get the best axe - remember that you can sell the equipped one for 90% of the purchase price. Get vitality equipment when it's challenging. The best vitality item is the ring +10. Otherwise get strength equipment for faster kills. Hope it helps!

Under rating threshold (show) It's an ok game from what I've played but there are so many sprites literally /RIPPED/ from Zelda I'm already wary of the game. The fact it uses topdown, fixed camera like Zelda but uses RPG effects makes it difficult to play at times, especially the short invulnerability period after being hit doesn't help when you're backed into a corner early in the first level. I know it shouldn't be hard to control and it's basic fighting but honestly, your first five times you level up, upgrade strength and sword, should make a difference. I upgraded strength every single time along with the sword skill and I rarely see damage done over 2 (the highest I get is a 3). I would suggest making beginning enemies a little squishier or leveling up a little more gratifying. I'm no stranger for grinding to level up but it shouldn't be a grindfest in the very first level. 3/5 so far but score may change later.

Under rating threshold (show) This game is quite boring, so I'd like to share a glitch which can teleport you into the last room and end the game. (My english is not very good:P) 1. you need to have a swim skill. 2. go to (1,7) of the "MAP" (there are 2 yellow crabs in 1,7) 3. go to the (1,10) on the "SCREEN" (There are some glass in the water blocked the path, (1,9)/(2,8)/(2,9)/(3,7)/(3,9) etc...) 4. hold the "W" key, then press "A" to switch the map into (1,6), then press "D" to switch back into (1,7). 5. repeat step4, until you passed though the glass. 6. Then, swim to map(1,2) 7. Press "W" to switch the map into (0,2), once you get there, you'd find that there are two computer on the screen. 8. Talk to the "Purple Man" and end the game.
