Player base is too small for that I guess. I confirm that most best players are not buying cards. I agree that some rares are strong, but as you can get them without paying real money I don't really see the problem. 25 cards a day is defintely doable, especially with all those new achievements bringing extra gold. I could buy 25 packs (125 cards) right now, not even counting reselling cards to get more coins.
And if you want fair mode there is forum where you can suggest draft mode. Although I would rather see existing alpha modes enhanced first.

Be serious. Your best players *are* buying cards. +25 cards a day is not achieved by grinding for 8 hours, esp. if you are engaged in tournament matches (see Soularmadyl). So perhaps consider a fair ranking system where *all* players (incl. newbies) have a real chance to compete and advance by being matched to those with similar stats (e.g. tournaments won, matches won, cards owned, etc.).
Since I'm the developer, I know very well if people are buying cards or not. :) We are currently losing money to keep this game running for you guys, so please don't be quick to criticize our cash system. If you don't like the tournament, I recommend standard pvp mode - you can find a player with similar rating in chat and set up a match that way. We don't have many players online at one time, so it doesn't make sense to implement automated match-making based on rating at this point. But I appreciate the suggestion - I hope we'll be able to implement automated matching in the future, and I agree that our tournament system (still in alpha) has much room for improvement.

Your so called Tournament PvP is a complete misnomer. It should read MASSACRE - PLAYER WITH THE MOST CASH DOMINATES THE REST OF THE WORLD. Or have you ever seen a white belt fighting a black belt?

Can we get a way to sort our cards? It's hard to build a deck when they are scattered. Also, flagging "new" cards would be useful. Otherwise great game.

The tutorial is immensely hard for a new player. I had no idea my abilities cost 0 to play and as such I did not heal for many turns. A tutorial should not be frustrating.
Great to hear that you like story based games. I'm afraid there currently isn't a way to re-read the text, but I'll keep this in mind when planning future improvements to the campaign mode.

In the beginning, I hit "blazix" to attack, but instead I boosted his attack and healed both my creatures. It did the total opposite what I wanted the entire match.

You were unable to communicate with the game server.
You were unable to connect to the server. Please check your internet connection and contact the developer if the problem persists.
Details: Socket security error occurred.
If refreshing the page doesn't work, please contact the developer in chat - our servers may be under maintenance. If the developer is not in chat, please leave a comment below the game with the information above and try again later. Thanks!

Kind of warming up to this game. Saw the beg for money on the updates today. Cards are $10-$100, do you seriously expect people to do that? Micropayments are supposed to be micro - 10 cents to $1.
Glad you like the game. Allow me to explain...first of all, rare cards are $10 each, not $100. But that's at a non-discounted price - every day, a random rare card is sold at 50% off. So if you're patient, each rare card is $5 each. And yes, I think $5 is reasonable because unlike traditional card games, we effectively give away all the common cards for free. Our VIP membership basically gives 2 rare cards + commons for $8. I hope that makes the prices seem more reasonable, considering server costs are hundreds of dollars per month out of our own pockets (we are passionate indie developers who love making games, not a big greedy corporation). Thanks, hope you consider supporting us!

BTW, would it ever be possible to, have a button that lets you "auto" your turn? It gets tiresome having to hit pass 4-5x a turn when I already know I won the battle or I'm just grinding for more money.
I've changed the reward formula so that it provides diminishing rewards for longer battles. Therefore, it should be in your best interest to win battles fairly quickly. I would rather not implement an auto-pass feature, as it doesn't seem like a fun solution.
That is not a bug. You may only cast one ability per turn, unless the ability states that you may play another (there are many such chainable effects). Part of the strategy of the game is managing the limited number of casts per turn.

I would like to see the map significantly reformatted: change terrain to move freely more. Than, all mountains cost 1 action to move on (but will give you small free gold like 10-30). Or, add a new tile like a gate/wall that also costs 1 action. The idea should be that you can't move across entire map so easily. This should help out people 'stealing' other people's resources when attacking. It also would help make the rare resources more viable. Also, would be nice to see more challenging AI like imp leader lvl.2.
Laslty, fix structures so team mates can defend if online. Otherwise, it's crucial to make defenses = current member's active deck.
I am working on it. It takes some time to fix because it is difficult to recreate consistently. But you can be sure I will make progress on this bug. Thanks for keeping me notified. :)

Great game, but please, for the love of all that's holy, make it possible to filter the cards in the shop! It drives me crazy having to sort through them to find the cards I want every time.

Personally, I think the battle with the Howlan and the two Alphaxes is waaay too hard, since the creatures can use ALL of their abilities in one turn, and that hits pretty hard, my strongest creatures go down in 3-4 rounds. Otherwise good game.

I don't know if this is a bug, but the discount offer hasn't changed since yersterday, and i didn't have my daily reward too

I wasn't here at the start, which may explain its low rating.
I am say recent, frequent updates have made this game much better.
Give it a chance!

once again, a nice update. i quite like the new boosters (helped me a lot in campaign chapiter 4!). a little bug though : i have finished the 4th chapiter of the campaign, and i see in my profile page that i don't have the badge awarded (neither the reward of course ;) ) I am really impatient to see what is next!

Card games are based on two dynamic play themes.... speed and power. The game is inherently slow with the resource generation. One change I would make to perhaps pick things up is make Meditation and Intelligence something (can't get in game to look) the resource generating spells be able to be followed up. This opens the possibility that if you're one short you can speed play it. Not having a lot of card draw is what will keep that from getting out of control. As far as deck restrictions ... 8 creatures period min makes sense 8 "common" creatures doesn't as you can ONLY have the 30 cards. you're almost at 30% creature to spell ratio min. Just some initial thoughts for now ( again as I can't get in game atm to do the 800 coin opinion thing) :-P. Overall enjoying for now.

Hey there. Enjoying the game so far, ... when I can play it. I keep getting a Socket Security Error that prevents me from either connecting to the server or logging in, not sure which. Upon reading the comments I gotta agree with Ace Blue on one point. I looked through all the cards and came up with a deck idea. Based on the limited spending resource I ONLY looked for creatures with abilities or spells that allowed you to take another action. Only if the ability was great and didn't allow another action on a creature did I consider it as a finisher. I feel this is the biggest drawback to the game thus far.

Earth Spike seems to be sometimes bugged. Every time my game freezes, the last attack that is used is earth spike. Current fight is in act 3 vs oxidus and golget

Fun card game! But one suggestion - Instead of saying "Pass," could you change it so that it says something different every phase? Like "End Attack" or "Finish Discarding" or something like that?

Wow.... nevermind. Had PeerBlock on, didnt think that would mess with flash games. Nothing to see here, move along :p

I played a lot yesterday, and I come in today and get the error of: "You were unable to communicate with the relay server." Any Help? Thanks
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
wow, is the 3 Golget campaign mission supposed to be impossible? I lose 9 health a turn from their abilities, 5 from earth spike, and every time I try and fight back they cleanse my damage spells. Blocking their techniques doesn't help much, cause they still do 4 damage per attack.
I believe the data loss was due to a bug with the deck switching feature which came out with that patch. I've credited your account with funds that will allow you to repurchase your lost cards (and more). Apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks for playing!

Oh and a tip to get more players? get your own section in Kongregates forum. Any game that does will always get an increase in players. Despite any and all other factors this has NEVER failed. Though you most likely have to attain a certain amount of plays on your game to get this feature. You could also ask for a promotional tie in for new players. Both of these will increase the amount of players exponentially. Basically ask them to incorporate a weekly challenge badge to earn ina different game with a reward for your game. Could be a specific card or an extra deck or some sudo cash or a booster pack. Something big enough to entice them to check it out even though they are playing something entirely different.

Thanks for responding back so quickly....Ok there are a lot of them so I will just pm them you instead. I don't have anywhere close to 20% of the card collection so I can't possibly tell you all of them, but there are a few I see that just seem like an odd change and I can give my reasoning too individually. I will send you a handful of PM's in an hour or so.

I really like the game but I haven't been able to play since I left my deck tab up overnight and lost my 53 reserve cards somehow. There was an update the next day so that may be the reason but I really don't know. It's been a week or more.

I guess what I am saying is there is a difference between "balancing" a card and lowering a strong card so much that it becomes useless.
Thanks for your input. All balancing changes we make are not only in reaction to player feedback, but also always based on our design principles as we strive to make the game as interesting as possible for all players. Sometimes we don't get it right with the first 1 - 2 tries. It would be most helpful if you can point out which specific cards you feel need rebalancing, and why. I can then tell you either the reason why we want to keep it that way for now, or possibly rebalance the card. Thanks!

Ok this time I have problem with the update. Lots of great stuff was added yes, but its getting a tad frustrating to keep buying cards to use in your deck that have a decent ability get nerfed over and over again. I understand all about balancing I do, but lowering the atk power and hp of something that already couldn't take a single turn from multiple enemies?
Lowering or raising the turn amount of most new card abilities? I don't know that this is balancing so much as it is more like people complaining about not liking what a card does so just weakening it. Love everything else though just feel like too many constant tweaks on the different cards. When you made it so no one can attack on the first turn or specific abilities can't be played on first turn. It just seems like its dumbing the game down :( I am still playing and understand it is a work in progress. Love how dedicated you are to the updates.
