@Skyrunner: Yes, you are supposed to select 'any' might I suggest you help this game along by giving it 5 stars so that it might get featured and the community therefore will grow? I also suggest you join a clan as the people in them are more than willing to help. Play the campaign, get sp and use that to get new cards for your deck.

This seems like a fun game, but there's no one to play against. Sitting 20 minutes in a queue until I get fed up and quit.. unless I'm supposed to select 'any' instead of 'same' which seems monumentally stupid unless I want to get crushed over and over by far more experienced players.

Have you thought about adding number of times people won 1st,2nd,and 3rd place in tournaments to their profile pages or maybe even leaderboard by some sort of "prize points" 3points for 1st place,2 for second,1 for 3rd.

I started out about 4 days ago.
At first I do agree it was hard fighting against some of the more powerful players, but the fact is your starting deck is in many cases quite decent.
There is some "Rock, paper, scissor" Factor to the game, that actually can make lvl 50 hunters for instance lose to the starting deck of gladiators.
The game is full of helpfull players, and by removing just a couple of the weak links in the starting deck, you are set to go!
The game features a variety of things to do, ranging from the Campaign , to the normal pvp matches, to tournaments.
Not only that, but the new Conquest mode is set to come out within a reasonable amount of time!
I rarely type comments, but I'd reccomend people to give this game a chance, as it can be great fun!
See you ingame!

Bleh, I usually don't comment on games, but this one is exceptional. There's something to be said about a game where with no additional rares other then specialization cards, and approx. 3 extra uncommons I picked up along the way, I had managed to get 1st/2nd places in major tournaments, got a global ranking of 1st for a while, and get a 70% win percentage consistently with my starter deck. I'm not trying to brag as much to say to new players, hey, this game is tough, but if stick with it, you can do wonders, even if its with your starter deck! It may be hard, but it's possible in every sense of the term.
.
I tried to stay far away from that idea as possible! In fact back in 2006 when I finished the first build of the game there wasn't such thing as "energy". I don't know who came up with that but I never felt like Ederon needed it.

So many negative comments lately. How about a positive one for all the newcomers reading the comments. This game is fantastic, great strategy, great community, great music. The players of Ederon are always willing to answer any questions you might have about the game. A couple things you should know going in to the game:
It's going to take awhile if you're not used to card games to get the hang of it.
Try all the starter decks before signing off on the game as rubbish. Find one that suits you best.
It's going to take awhile before you get the chance to really make the game your own by getting your own cards. Just stick with it, remember that we've all been there.
Finally, help out the community by rating the game 5stars. If the game gets featured, many more players will join, which means a more balanced start for newcomers.

I kept having flash player crashes before I could finish a single PvP match. Then I right clicked, went to "settings", changed local storage space to unlimited, and I haven't had any problems since.

3 Fade to black Connection Lost screens in the Tournament in a row.....what are the odds...sigh, Kong needs to fix their stuff...too forever just to connect to here, but it took only a second to connect to any other website.

PS: seems like there's a glitch, I got a Crossbow, but during Equip phase, it won't let me do anything and the game just gets stuck (can't even skip) - and no, I checked all cards played, none of them prevented Weapon from being placed down on field) (however I am just currently testing out the Decks in Choosing Starter Deck, so I donno if this issue will happen again)

Not sure if it's just me or my FireFox is acting up... but some times game lags and when I Drag instead of clicking tabs, it lags or freezes my browser (however it does go back to normal after a while, so not that big of an issue)

Now that missions are here, especially tournament related ones, you REALLY need to add the whole "2 tournaments per day at different times" thing. Half of the tournaments during the week are too early or too late for people who work (depending on their shift).

I've never really commented here have I ? well first off.. for a person who's been with Ederon since like forever, I've seen how much this game has evolved until today. I couldn't imagine how ederon five years ago would turn out to such this grand game at this very day. Well done MM.. and we all love you.
I've always loved ederon. Though I wish gaining gold would be easier but hey MM's gotta eat xD. Such a game like this, you either want to work your butt off or you pay. And this game is one of the very few that I have no qualms about working my butt off, heck I've been doing that most of the time for five years straight [wish I could pay but I gotta save some money as a college student too].
Amazing features, artwork, soundtracks. Unique mechanics and different classes are getting very well balanced overall. Not to mention such animations in a free browser game. I'm happy I found Ederon. Keep it up ! I shall keep on watching this evolution while we're all in it.

Getting gold is too slow. Not that much card difference, cards are all pretty even. Even at level 1 I can beat a level 38 of the same class. This game doesn't welcome new players, people quit before they can even open the first pack or anything.

I love this game. There's a ton of cards, the storyline is interesting, and the tournament system is great.
However, having segregated servers for each gaming site is awful, and here's why.
Suppose you happen to play on one site, and invest hours and hours leveling up on that site. Then you discover that a friend also plays, but on a different site. If the two of you want to play together with good decks, at least one of you has to spend another bunch of hours leveling up on the other site, and not everyone has time for that.
So why have this system of segregated servers?

One, small, tiny request: if I don't have any cards to play, please skip a phase automatically. Please, please, please.

For all the new players wanting advice on which starter deck they should choose, here's a good guide on the strengths and weaknesses of the various classes: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/276-ederon-trading-card-game/topics/325572-class-guide-by-testdr1ve
And remember, you'll get to play them all eventually.
Please rate up so new players can see this.
Thank you for the info and good to see this topic on top comments. Just wanna add that players can reset their accounts by going to profile -> reset account. This option is available for anyone level 9 or lower.

Does this game work on a Mac? I've been trying to play this for like an half an hour now, and it keeps saying loading cards

welp level 34 in 4 days, playing almost constantly! Bought my first booster for 1600 gold that I saved (without buying anything) opened my first booster and only 1 of my class out of 10 cards..? really Now I have to trade or sell for almost nothing? entered 2 tourneys in those days and got crap! This could take years to become competitive with payers pfft

did I comment? I can't remember. well, I have one thing to say really.
As good as Magic. Mhm. 5/5 for everything this game offers, music, artwork, functionality, and balance.

if you old and you remeber times when you played "magic the gathering"with your friends its game 4 you ..if you remeber "diablo 2" and thame from tristram yuoll love music...and another great think is that you can talk to game inventor and get guidance from him...so its a good game :)
We thought about it, but since this is a trading card game there is the -trading- factor to be taken into consideration. Instead of "daily rewards for logging in" we decided to go with "daily rewards for playing" which not only include our current daily reward system but also tournaments which always give something in return.

According to my calculations, i'm gonna buy my 1st pack in a couple of months. That's just ridiculous. I'm out of here.
I don't think you took into consideration that all game rewards escalate significantly according to level and rating :)Also try focusing on cards from specializations during your early experiences, they are a lot easier to acquire.

Possibly related, but the card counts seemed to be getting messed up as I moved things from collection to deck to side. At one point I had doubled the number of copies I had for some cards.

I keep getting "invalid deck size" warnings in the deckbuilder when I hit save that seem to go away if I switch to another screen like play and then back to decks and make the exact same change and save.
