Glitch: After playing a song of your own, lpay a song from Dave. While playing a song from Dave, pause, and then unpause. You should be playing the previous song.

@sherwooddungeon: i will continue to make those kinda games, but it's good for me to explore new ideas as well. trying out new genres in a contest is something interesting and exciting for me, and i don't want to be making just the same types of games over and over again....

Hey Nerdook, im a big fan of your games, but this game gets boring easily. Im not sure if its because you have made other music games, or the fact that there arent many features to this game. I would like to see more games like: Monster slayer, Demons took my Daughter or maybe a game like anti-idle pro, I could see you making Anti-idle pro history with your game skills :)

Well, impressive if we consider it to be a 12 hours work, but really too embrional to call it a complete game, even if I'm sure that was your intention from the very start. I'll check it again when more stuff will be added, but basically the following things are pretty much needed: the ability to play again the same loaded song without going through the popup opening menu, more variety in default songs and more work into making the monsters react to the beat of the song. I actually felt like the monsters spawning was totally random; I'm pretty sure they'd be differences between songs, but I'd actually like the monsters to follow the chart of the one I chose more closely. Also: an health bar is always preferred to numbers, the copter should show its hitbox and some more differences as we go up with difficulty should be added. Those are pretty much the very basic features it needs, but I'm sure you'll surprise people with something to spice up gameplay even more.

aye the games seriously need some news upgrades for the ship, only 3 isn't really much.+ the MP3 loading feature ain't really something big, cuz turning the music off and opening an mp3 with any music player is kindof the same. i usually really enjoy nerdook's game, but i have to give a 2/5 to this one. :S

testing an update that will add two more enemies to the mix. look out for it in a few more minutes. also, it should lessen the no enemies bug.

Pretty fun game, but there needs to be more visual feedback for the music, the drab brown colour the game has makes it get boring faster, if colours changed or pulsed with the music it would be a much better game, but still 4/5. 5/5 If more visual feedback is added.

Works fine for me. Used a lot of upbeat dance and techno songs that really got the enemies swarming, though I feel like there could be a better connection to the music than just the limited creatures spawning in different numbers. Also the amount of bass seems to affect the spawning more than "loudness" even if it's not booming.

i'll keep polishing this game over the weekend and sort out any remaining bugs. also, i plan to add some features that I wasn't too sure about. with the current rating, i think it's worth a try!

Note to self, start listening to shorter less complicated music.... music for stupid people should work, but which metal, hip hop and rap bands should I go with.

Panic Attack by Dream Theater: almost 9 minutes of alien destroying carnage. Jacob straps on his mp3 player and blasts the hell out of everything that moves. Thanks for this Nerdook.

@drew2319- Otherworld was the first song I decided to try in this amazing game. Believe me, there are plenty of enemies and I love it :P Maybe your copy is messed up some how (though I can't imagine how) or your game just got glitched.

This game is pure amazing and nearly perfect. Needs some polishing. Maybe fix up the hit detection a little. Possible a retry song or play same song option, so I don't have to keep loading one song again and again if I play it more than once. It would be cool to also have it so the game can auto load the next song in the folder or have an option to add a play list. A few other minor things but this game is awesome. I thought Audio Surf was the best (and was my favorite) player loaded music game, but this blows this out of the water. I guess I prefer shooting things and upgrading more than avoiding walls (and since its a flash game here on kong I can play it for free! Unlike some game hosters -coughsteamcough-) Nerdook delivers again. I like this entry much more than his other.

So far all of my songs are showing up as Difficulty 1, but they aren't easy by any means (tons of enemies and bullets)... Is this a glitch or is there something I'm not understanding?

At first I thought this game was a bit too simple, but after playing through a few levels I began to really enjoy it. You get lost in the music while epicly dodging through enemies and timing specials. It became very zen-like for me, and the simplicity of it allows for this blend of music and action game to work.

As an avid follower and admirer of your designing talents, I would like to begin with: This is crazy impressive development for a single person's efforts in TWELVE HOURS. That said, J&tG lacks a lot of the polish (enemy appearance bugs, iffy collision, poorly balanced upgrades/advancements, ambiguity of power weapons--as in I'm not sure what's going on really or when I can activate them) that brings your other titles much of their addictive appeal. I really appreciate your experimental style, Nerdook, and your exploration of design concepts. There's definitely a lot of ambition for mp3-defined bullet hells, but it'll need lots more polish. :3

keep the suggestions coming on how to improve the game. I'll definitely be updating this as time goes on. more enemy variety would be great, but i haven't had time since this idea came so close to the deadline. :3

It would be nice if we can face more than just the same 3 enemies everytime. Also, it would be great if you can use your mouse to use your power, it's easy to click the specials when you play with the WASD instead of the arrows keys. Sorry about the english. Also, I'll never going to play a Dream Theater song again in this game, gosh, a stage of 24 minutes OMG. Great game anyway.

Fun game, specially with metal. With some work, new enemies, boss on solos (why not), this could be much more than just an contest entry. The only thing I hate is when the game kkeps running when the music is over... but cool game

Hit detection could be fixed (seems to be somewhere in the center mass and the gun itself) and 'No MP3' seems to be too short.
