the castle is a bit of a screw over - in a close battle, whoever has the upper hand towards the end will probably lose due to backing your opponents into their castle. i've had consecutive games where in the first game, i was overwhelmed but backing into my castle proved to be the turning point. in this subsequent game, i had the upper hand but forcing the enemy back into their castle was the turning point against me. :/ to fix this, you have to allow me to choose advance or not or remove the advantage of castles

Kinda underwhelming when you beat the 'final boss'. Hurray you beat the game! Now do it again, with a few more new units and slightly higher levels. It would be cool if you got like a special card for beating bosses, or even if there were more bosses! And if there are, I either neglected a message telling me there was or there wasn't one.

For people who suck at this game (like myself), it might be nice if replaying a level didn't get progressively harder, throwing me into an endless spiral that reminds me how slow my brain works these days.

There should be some sort of card storage, so if you decide between battles that you need a specific unit, you don't have to rely on pure luck and lose one of your units.

You know what would help? A stats chart showing round-by-round kills. That way, we can compare different round kills of each unit in our deck and can better decide which cards to swap out.

What is the point of upgraded cards, when my army grow stronger, the enemies grow even more stronger with new units that i don't have???? Just give me a set of cards to pick from and formulate a strategy to win instead of grinding on and on.

the general sucks you should make him stronger and if you win a match the general will level so you can give him upgrade and differnt powers

Nerdook, a suggestion. Y'know hats from Monster Slayers? Make them into full armor sets, make them upgradable and add hem for generals only. Like if you agree, people.

The downside to these games is the lie that you're starting over but keeping your cards... The enemy for starting over miraculously gets stronger faster so you're not really starting over. Though on the bright side you're also not getting low level cards in response to you having beat a lowly level army. Though it's hard to then judge if you're ready to try the next tier of battle.

Maybe there could be a card that upgrades/levels up your General(Level up your General: +1!). That way your General can improve along w/ the deck you are working on

Death needs to lose 1 reinforcement when he dies. I keep losing to him because he can't kill anything of mine, so I have to surrender because his reinforcement never goes down. Stupid.

"beast" was not so hard... i found 2/4 subbosses harder! Im a great fan of nerdooks games, they are so addictive and the music is always very nice :P

I like the game overall. It's a pretty standard Nerdook game, which isn't a bad thing. But I found the Beast to be annoying for all the wrong reasons. My deck could breeze through all the stages and bosses, but the Beast acts differently than almost any other unit (with his triple ranged attack that can attack both melee and back units). It wouldn't be a problem to adjust my strategy...if I had any of the cards the game forced me to discard. I don't want to lose my deck because I like it, but I would need to change it up for this fight. Not being able to keep unused cards kind of ruins the game, because you can't just switch things for one fight and play around with different strategies. It's made worse by the fact you have no reliable way to know when you will be able to obtain your discarded cards again. One solution would be to be able to buy back specific cards that you've previously had in your deck.

Archers on defense are highly overpowered even with their tiny damage. As the hero just keeps respawning as soon as it dies, you never get a chance to even hit an archer. 2 archers and hugging your castle = almost guaranteed win. Also I can't seem to get further as any card I get is weaker or equal to what I have, been repicking for over 2 dozen times, wasting more than twice the gold than the actual card cost. And please make coins AUTO COLLECT. No one ever liked this mouse over mechanic. No one.

The white backgrounds in the new update make it impossible to read some text, especially when buying cards and choosing which boss to battle. Not a huge deal if you've been playing a while, but newcomers may get frustrated.

Loved it. I noticed quite a few references to other games/movies. Assassin's Creed, Lord of the Rings, Naruto, and there probably are a few others I didn't recognize. =P

I agree with the upgrading, but otherwise its a really good game! I just beat the beast and am waiting for the sequel!

Hey, wouldn't killing death have some serious consequences? Like, y'know, giving everyone immortality and the whole Death can't die without there being Death...

I'd recommand people posting decks to give their levels in comments, it's annoying to encounter level 8 decks when you have level 15 creatures in average (or the contrary ;).

If you start off too well, you are actually at a huge disadvantage. Pushing the enemy all the way back to their building is likely to severely increase your own casualties. And I never seem to get a retreat when that happens...

Here I was thinking my level 10 deck could stand a chance against these exported army... never had I been so wrong! They all have level 99! *sob*
Great game nonetheless, as one would expect from Nerdook.

okay, so I gave it 5*, because I've really enjoyed it, but it would deserve 4* only. The reason for the 4* is that the chaotic, unhelpful menu sytem could frighten away potential players, also at card-swapping window the special abilities of acquired cards are not shown, making it a bit difficult to properly ponder over swapping certain cards.. Having said that, the game is addictive and I was quite suprised to see so many unique creatures in it with diff. abilities. So 5*, keep up the good work, hoping to see a more (non-grinding) timeconsuming (long) sequel!

It's not bad, really more of the same as far as the nerdook games normally go. The only problem I can find is that destroying the enemy castle is practically impossible as the enemy units respawn quickly and in the way (and if you finish them off the game ends)

Awesome game, just one thing for the sake of balance, make the enemy AI use spells while playing in multiplayer mode. (also, the same card system for spells would be cool)

Fire units are just so overpowered... Just stick a good tank in your front line and they can decimate and entire group of units in a matter of seconds.

A fun time sink. Choices feel pretty meaningful both in the deck building phase and during play and there are a lot of tactics you can try. You can create a synergistic deck, you can make one with a mix up to adapt to your opponent, or you can just take all the best cards you see.
My process from my first play through to my 30th, only the beast took me more than one try the first time:
I started with the two tankeist units I could find, a couple counter picks, and the rest were archers. Healing archers are probably my favorite unit even late game.
It than evolved to frontlines units that had built in sustain, supported by the highest DPS archers and goatman.
Vampire seems to be one of the best units in the game, despite its low stats. Its unique "flying" mechanic is probably why, as I think it frequently makes it immune to damage. Damage immunity, plus high speed, plus lifesteal makes them nigh unkillable in high numbers and or with archer support.

Love the game, but if you push the enemy back to early you get severely penalized. You end up fighting nothing but the other team's general and get all of your Elite units slaughtered by a recruit archer that they cannot touch. That was a tad frustrating.
