"Vipers are the Derek Zoolanders of the snake kingdom." HAHA! Also, i was expecting certain doom when i first hit a wall only to find myself clear on the opposite side of the plane. What Cartesian sorcery is this!?

1 point for deriving from one of the most legendary, simple yet entertaining, games of all times. 1 point for keeping a pixel graphic, instead of trying to be like the millions remixes of snake that have been made, that try to give a modern look and inevitably end up to crap. 1 point for the imagination and creativity you showed by making all those clever variations. 1 point for the nice system of achievement unlocks. 1 point for the name. And definitely favorite for being overall one of the most awesome latest flash games. Way to go!

@sotanaht I used a variant of that strategy; instead of avoiding lapping the tail, I made sure I predominantly moved *downwards* rather than *up*, using the wraparound of the screen. Same principle as yours - I think the times I died were when I snuck in an up to get one last pill - but I think perhaps a little quicker to get to the pills because it's not until quite late on that you need to do so very tightly in order to survive.

Love the game, only one thing... Would be nice if it marked somehow that you beat the DEV score... cos eventually it gets hard to remember which ones you've beaten, and I get impatient waiting for it to be displayed...

@00dann It could also be a sphere. Although you are right that it is not a plane, especially no cartesian plane. But I still love the pun and the humor in this game. And I am a mathematician. ^^

The trick on "passage" is to move up and down in waves so that you never lap your tail. As long as you never lap your tail the only way you can possibly die is to go off the screen on the top or bottom, which is easy to avoid. The rest is just patience.

Simple, clever, delightful - more people who are passionate about gaming ought to make games like this - for aspiring devs, I can't think of many better ways of honing your craft than these kind of witty variations on a classic model - together with a complete absence of unnecessary faff - thank you!

Great game. Smooth music (lets you play it for a long time without going insane) and great colors. The only thing I missed was a button in the options disabling the scrolling appearance of the text. Like "make level descriptions instant".

Kudos for adding a lot of new twists to such an old (and often copied) game. Some improvements I'd like to see: 1. The description and stats for a snake mode should pop right up (or the pseudo-typing should be faster). 2. Sometimes in the menu, the backgrouond color is way to dark (or the font shouldn't be fixed at black). 3. In the menu, show in which modes you already beat 15 points and/or DEV score. 4. Multiple score goals (e.g. easy/hard/dev) would give more sense of achievement.
Rate up if you agree so the dev will see.
These are really great suggestions. Number 4 would take to long for me to implement at this stage. As for number 2 the font isn't set to black, it's whatever the font text color is for that pallet. Also I see and read all responses :)

Tip for Boomslang: Don't play it with WASD, it's bugged. The Dots dont show up when turning with WASD, they only do when using the arrow keys. Took some time to figure that out^^

What a great game. This is most certainly the king of all snake games. Perhaps I haven't played far enough to see it, but it would be nice to have some kind of very slow-mo, or even turn-based snake puzzle, focused on thinking more than reacting. Also, the controls aren't perfect. It might be the software's fault, or perhaps my computer isn't fast enough (which would surprise me) but the reaction time of the flash game is not nearly as good as the reaction time of my keyboard.

Ok, rattlesnake is nigh impossible to get 15 points if you are colorblind. Other modes are tough too, but I didn't know the pills you have checked turn a slightly different color till I asked a friend. Relying on sheer memory i've mange to get 13, but I really wish I could change a color or two.
Unrelated: i love the music

This simple classic has always been a fun game, unlike many of the complex, convoluted, confusing plot-based games we have today. Sometimes the best things in life, really are the simple things. While your version is great... unfortunately I do have to say that Timesplitters 2 has the best Snake music ever! But don't let that bum you, this is still a great 5/5 tho!

Am I the only one having trouble with Sea snake? If the pellets spawn too far away, I have no chance. I can't get a score higher than 6. :(
