The alarm mechanic should be used in stealth games more frequently, honestly, instead of "Oh no! You lost! You are a friggin' ninja, but you just couldn't fight all the guards off and you died!".

Don' you hate the glitch where you grab multiple ropes in the same place then you have to fall to use the rope again? Gets me dead everytime

Great Game, I checked out Part2 , but this one is way better in my opinion.
(of course, Part 2 has awesome features, but this one is just unique for me)

No checkpoints...It's not that hard. Level 19 probably took me over 50 tries, I'm not exaggerating. But eventually, you get through the hard part with 2 or 3 lives, where the level gets simple for a while, then at the next hard part, there's food around to replenish health.

On the Spot Light Level, If you stand on the orange barrier, when it disapears your still standing on it but it looks like your floating

Love everything about this and the sequel except for one thing: score goes to zero when you die. Like other Nitrome games the lack of checkpoints kills gameplay enjoyment. A shame because otherwise, it's a platformer masterpiece.
