I finally did it! The trick was to stark in great sea, and focus your skill points on attack bolts, both upper and lower attacks, first. Then give a bunch to life, until you have about 300 hp. Then give a few to mana, make sure you have about 100 mp. Then the last few needs to go toward basic damage. I hope this helps anyone who had an issue winning the young mage competition. :)

This is such unwinnable BS, surrounded by endless text and clicking.. every fight you get in, the enemy is like twice your level. Winning the stupid mage competition takes way over an hour which is absolutely uncalled for in a BOTD. Someone needs to apply a pipe wrench to the guy's head that selects BOTDs.

Chaos Desert is OP as additional attacks let you get through your enemys defenses easily and the ability to reduce special forces them to lay low

Heres how to cheat the system and the game:
1.Be the PoisonWater
2.Train to get all the clan skills and max them out
3.BE PRO:
-Use the poison wave to inflict damage
-Use paralyze to avoid your opponent from touching you.
-Use Death from poison as a shortcut to victory
!Extra touches: Max out your life to about 300 to live early game to charge your special. Max out your mana as much as you can.!
After this, you will be on your way great master!

This game is pretty much the half-life of the flash game world. It is so good that everyone wants more. Problem is...developers have trouble with 3's. Either that, or when they do get to three, it probably won't live up to everyone else's expectations. All i mean to say is...don't get your hopes up people.

I really like the game. I used to play on Kongregate a few years ago, but quit. Eventually I came back just to play this game. I hope a third edition of this game series comes out and my only suggestions would be more character looks, and more indepth story (maybe make love interests and loyal followers, friends, etc. A few more paths to choose from). Overall it is a great game to play and I love the combat system.

I have beaten this game many times, with every possible character in every possible way. I am talking of many freaking times. 40? 50? i dont even know anymore...
I have to move on with my life...

It doesnt even have to be a sequel, it doesnt even need to be a broswer game. Make it for pc, x-box, playstation! i dont care..

VERY well done! If only more RPG devs spent less time coding fancy graphics and more giving some life to their game worlds, with plenty of paths for the player to follow and this level of interaction and freedom when talking to the NPCs...

@PoisonValek if you already finished a game with a clan, you can change your clothes (of that clan) with some fancier ruffles

Also, can we have an option to upgrade our clothing? I'd gladly give fame points away for some fancier ruffles. By the end I was way more powerful than my opponents, but they had the fancier sleeves and ruffs! :P Like to support this.

Is there also an option to remain neutral? Like a rouge mage... still makes it to #1 and becames great mage by sheer power alone. Just a suggestion.

Suggestion: add a log of who you've met. ie name, what they do (theif, whiterobe, alchemist etc) and your standing with them. Sorta confusing when you're friends with them then accidentally kill them in the next meeting...

So I've found a nice little description of how i play the game. It's like rock paper scissors really. Except you only get to choose rock. But you can use rock more than once. The more rocks you have the better your chance of winning. Spam rocks, get more rocks, More Rocks, MOAR ROCKS! Now you have enough rocks to win. Burn them all. With rocks. These are flints just so ya know.

High seas special where its a mana leak shouldn't be able to go on forever. If the mana leak is more than you get for resting you automatically lose. It's not fair.

something i love to do in this game is pretend every mage has their own fighting style( i.e. when battle starts battlebeard will summon fire around him and create a golem) i change the styles everytime i play. usaually for poison water i envision making water into wings and flying around. Well. thats just me and my super active imagination xD

Great game, there are lots of paths to take unlike every other RPG games where you can only follow 1 or 2 story lines. And, battle mechanics are easy but still hard in a way that you need to adjust your tactics based on your opponent's moves also not like other games where you only use the same moves over and over again every fight. Plus, those guys on the bar are funny as hell. Awesome job 10/10 make a sequel already!

This game though.... Let me challenge you in this game(this requires joining one of th two opposing factions) . Before the final battle try become Number 1 mage and enjoy the the whole event. ;) Also you should become a grave digger. As ridiculous as it sounds this one on second time can gice a attacking orb who can increase yours maxinum attacking bolts+1 ( In other words you will fire 11 bolts instead of 10). Also each clan its own uniqueness and try ultilizing their overpowered spells and mechanics of theirs.Also dont forget to use different paths and clans every time when you finish this game.
