Now we know why aliens keep visiting Earth. 1) They got lost in space for 15000 years and need info from our gods and godships 2) They want to make us technologically advanced as a way to kill time worth 15000 years.

General Tips[to keep your game face on in any difficulty level]: on attacking small fighters- Don't shoot sporadically. Make a wall of impenetrable fire, and move it slowly towards center of swarm. on asteroids- 3 or 4 small rocks are more deadly than one big rock. if you can't destroy it completely, then don't fire upon it. on mines- These are top priority. Very deadly. Nevermind the top and bottom ones, they won't hit your ship(unless dragged by your fighters). Multiple fighters do come in handy here. on capital ships- Always aim for the unobstructed turret. Turret hits also damage the hull, and reward you more points when destroyed first, not to mention they will no longer be able to fire back.

So much potential to be epic. Sadly it just becomes very tedious an old after a few levels. It was published in 2009. So I doubt we will see any updates or a part two. Which I would have loved to have seen happen. Oh well, another great idea gets stashed in the closet to collect dust and be forgotten.

Epic story lines and great graphics. This game is simply perfect.Just one little question why the badges said "Enabling cheats will disable this badge." If so, where i can enable the cheats or it only available Bubblebox.com?

This game should be called "Who has 5 hours to waste?". Reasonable concept, okay graphics, but painfully slow. A game with this much repetition needs to either be far more intense battle wise, or much quicker.

This game was pretty solid as far as the general concept goes. It's a side-scrolling space shooter. It's a pretty well established genre. But this particular game has several large drawbacks. For one thing, it doesn't give you any sort of instructions or hints as to get you started. It's not too hard to pick up as you go, but some general tips would be nice. And what's the point of having a side-scroller that lets you look in two directions IF THE ENEMIES CAN GO UP AND DOWN OFF SCREEN? You can't shoot them if you have no idea where they are. Also, there are no clear objectives. At all. I feel like I'm just shooting forever without actually accomplishing anything. As previously mentioned in others' comments, the game becomes incredibly difficult if you don't upgrade everything in a certain order. All in all, it's a good foundation but the game has a long way to go before being truly enjoyable. 2/5

Set the graphics low and refresh the page whenever you experience slowed fps. This will actually spread out the enemy waves and make the game much easier. This is very important for beating hard mode.

Upgrading you turrets fully, hundreds of RU. Accidentally selling them because the sell button looks like an accept changes button and there's no confirmation...priceless.

I would recommend all of the above "fixes" plus:
1) It is really hard to read what each of the upgrades are - perhaps a separate, larger screen so I dont have to squint to read.
2) It is very hard to follow the story dialog during combat and that text box is really, really tiny making it al most impossible to read
3/5.

Here's a question to the developer: What was used to create this game? There's a lot of small details that I noticed and I would like to know what it would take to create something like this. I think it's a pretty good gameplay wise and graphics wise. Story could use some work and maybe some music could be thrown in there too. You still got a 5/5 from me. I would hope that they see this. Please hit the + button.
google for "the making of orbital decay", i have written about the development process there. if you have questions that don't find answers there, feel free to ask.

"Aliens are attacking, humanity is almost dead, you are our only hope!" I've heard that so, so many times. Not complaining about the gameplay at all, but seriously people, get another storyline!!!

Any criticizers are nuts. This game is epic. The ship designs are really cool. The story is intreguing. They should make a sequel, though. Heres the plan: Put some flaks in the front. Upgrade drones as much as you can. Get as many fighters as you can, they take care of small ships. Get rocket turrets too. Then you max out the ultragun, which is most effective for capital ships.

Ok. The problem is the Cinematic Mode. I tried switching between it and the normal mode, enemy firing range is calculated in pixels and does not take into account the larger number of pixels in the larger playing field. When in normal mode enemy fires from a far greater distance. In Cinematic Mode anyone can triumph at hard.

The dialogue was very hard to read, especially when it came up in the middle of battle. Is there a place where we can read it all and not miss it?

Great game. challenging and yet very alluring in a way that not many games are(4.5 hours later)... the upgrade system is close to perfect, the only thing that i could ask for is different pathways for your fighters to upgrade into such as a heavy, swift, and average (starting) fighter. Without a doubt a 5/5!
