Sorry sorry, feel free to rate this down. But rate my other comment up, I think its important that people know they more of of an option to just die, which implicates a further message buried within the game. The only one who mourns you is the little girl... -ps you must have at least activated the first soldiers firing on you to go back to the spaceship, but you DO NOT have to receive any damage-

Wow what an inspiring game. I need to let most of you know, I FOUND SOMETHING. Most of you went straight into the war correct?Ive tried saving the family, letting them die, or saving parts. It goes on infinitely to the right, you just cannot go much further -because once you get so far, you have 2 tanks on both sides that almost literally squish you-. But try GOING BACK, TO THE SPACESHIP! It was sad, I know. But you can leave them, and they'll know in their misery at least you survived. Hopefully....

I loved it. It was so simple and moving. I'm glad to find a game that gets away from the norm., but does it correctly. Most 'different' games fail or are just play weird, but this...is something else, something better. It's a great game to teach about life, no matter what form it comes in.

I've never felt more awful in a video game than in this when the girl who first accepted my strange form died because I couldnt save her in time and the family wept over her. Truly an emotional piece of art. I replayed it just to see that when I did protect her, she was the one who stayed last when the alien died.

Touching. Good job on making me cry man. One of the best art games out there, there should be a tag for games like this.

Or were the humans attacking the alien because he was perceived to be an invader? In that case, he was just putting the family in danger by traveling with them.

This is probably one of the saddest games I've ever played. This alien comes to Earth, befriended by a rare few. Then, as it explores the Earth, people fire at it and his family only because he's big and foreign. It's just cruel and wrong. Why are humans so dumb?

when ever something happened I always tried to talk soothingly to the little family... telling them that it's gonna be okay, that I'm fine don't worry, it's gonna be okay, I'll always be around, to keep going it's almost over and the like...

i tried to let the family die before me, and i didnt die till now...and the e.t. stopped walking, i think i reached the end lol

This was a very nice and moving game and it made me cry. You did what many people have attempted to create with words but failed horribly. Great job and very good insight into humanity. 5/5

great and moving game. do you think that now you could use your considerable talent to make me feel happy, instead of sad. please?

a very sad story, it should be in a novel or made into a film, its very heard breaking how the girl and the alien grew up together and then it protected her and her family from danger and then it died and the war was over, it is very heart breaking.

When I played the second time, I came back to ship after the war started. Ship collapsed. This is a way to show "You should help the people who helped you".

Dear Alien,
I hope this letter will come to you in The Heaven. You are the my personal hero. My Dad and Bro' tell, that you were a living shield. I don't think so. You were a hero. MY hero. Me and mom are still crying after we lost you. I wish I knew why you decided to protect us... I'm gratefull... thank you, thank you for everything you done. I will never forget you.

This was really depressing. I wish I knew what happened to the family after I died though.
I mean, since the soldiers weren't shooting at you specifically, I'm assuming the war wasn't about OMFGALIEN. Does the family survive the war once you're gone? D:

And props to you, sir (Pixelante); this is (except for The Company of Myself) truly the most beautiful game I have played, with its unconventional narrative, and wondrously multitudinous range of possibilities; the emotional nuances touched my heart (for example, if the father dies, the son tries to look brave, while the mother and daughter cry). Excellent work.

You know you can survive right?
If you go back after the first time a soldier appears, you can board your ship and leave; three of the family members run away, and the little girl kneels there crying; it breaks my heart, but it's one way you won't die. + to let others see this.

ive played this about 5 times now... about once every few month and for the first time the family died....i can honestly say i cried.

I have played this a number of times before it's n my favorites, and every time i feel moved inside from the start to the finish I feel a need to keep the people who have helped me survive and grow to keep them alive is all that matters. No matter how many people talk this down I for one "live (forever immortal)" Great work

BTW, forgot to say it on my first comment to this, those who rate this badly are heartless. Really. And I like those "SHOOT KILL KILL KILL SHOOT" types of games, but this actually moved me by much. You could rate this down, I don't mind.

its a message... the people that feed you, the people that look after you.. if something happens to someone your attached to you have to carry on

I haven't commented on a game in a while, but, I would like to say, this is quite close to a game I'm working on (not in flash, so It won't be on kongregate) except that mine will have at least three different endings, only one of which will be happy.

So, I'm playing this game at work between phone calls. I walk to the right for long enough to get bored, protect the humans, and continue on out of curiosity. I get a phone call on my work phone. I press P in the hopes that it pauses the game. I click out of the screen with the same hope. Looks like the game is still running. I leave it and answer my call. Done with the call, I take a look back at the game window. Now it says "Live (forever immortal)" and I have a new badge. I for one would like to know what happened, but don't want to sit through this game again.

♥ It was short. It was simple. The music was beautiful, and I loved it, as when the extra-terrestrial started to wisp away and die, the music slowed, and the feel of it was dramatic, sad. The alien had made friends, humans, who he/she wanted to protect, and therefore, he was a shield for them when war struck and armies of soldiers where a against him. Kind of reminds me of 'The Iron Giant' movie. A marvelous, touching game.

This game puts a spin on the "aliens crash to earth and kill everyone" plot. In this game, aliens aren't the bastards here. Its the soldiers, tanks, and planes shooting at you. This isn't your typical game where you can shoot all you want. Its a game about defending the family, and survival. Eventually, you die, and the surviving members of the family mourn you as it starts snowing... The game is awesome when you put some thought into it.

I love how the entire game is all guitar from the bg music and the actual in game effects.
This game, loved, majesty of colors, don't look back, etc. should all be in an "art" badge pack.

this game does something that makes an art game so effecctive, it has a simple job for you to do that means so much when combined with the other details in the game. Rather than shoot the bad guys to stop them from shooting you, you make yourself a human sheild for the ones you love and cause no death yourself. This game is the greatest promoter of pacifism i've seen since ghandi, 5/5 and it deserves more.

I... just can't say anything. Everything I wanted to say is wrote down. Immediate 5/5, fav'd, gets my congratulations, and seriously a piece of art. *sniffs*
