((Oh hush, CrazyGirl. [[Love ya~!]] xD DTD was the game that got me hooked to Kong in the first place--of course I'm going to have much commentary if it comes with a release. ^-~))
In fact...one more thing...I think that the ink towers could've been made just a little bit cheaper. They were hard to come by in the earlier levels of the game. Cheaper with less damage, in fact, might have been best. Don't know what Preecep wants to do with it...but...*shrugs*

And since the comment box seems to consider things in "-"s as crossed out things...
The following is what was dashed out:
First comment: ...and that was the uselessness of the Bash towers. I always have an issue with games where there are things about them that are simply not helpful...
Second comment: ...but I would’ve preferred having ink towers as ones that shoot no matter what, leaving behind some residue that creeps simply walk over, getting hurt. Seems to me that it would’ve given them a much more interesting use...

The new graphics are okay...but I personally preferred DTD 1's more. Perhaps it would be possible to make an option to revert back to those graphics? Not sure what's in store for DTD, but I'd really like to play future versions without the new graphics. ((No offense. Again, it's just personal taste.))
Anyway...all in all, I really liked this release. If some of the originality of the previous one could have been kept, I would've been a little happier...but I'm still giving it a 5/5 and adding it to my favorites. So with this, I say...another great release, and I send this with my gratitude.

The added voices were fun. I kinda wish that they were a little more high-pitched like in the original, but hey...more voices, more interesting, I suppose.
The added strategy of maze-building with the boost towers should prove change many old strategies, making this a definite sign of improvement...but what I didn't like was how the Ink towers essentially HAD to be used. I know in the last game, the swarm towers were basically essential too, but it was always possible to destroy flying creeps without them. It may just be a personal taste issue, but I just didn't like how the Ink towers were absolutely necessary. I don't know if the developers would be looking to do this--but I would've preferred having ink towers as ones that shoot no matter what, leaving behind some residue that creeps simply walk over, getting hurt. Seems to me that it would've given them a much more interesting use--especially when it came to maze building.

I don't think the comment box is letting me post all that I want to say...so...it'll be broken up. Sorry for this.
((Because I like to read previous comments, I'll say this much in reference to much older comments made--although this could be seen as an update, DTD 1.5 has many differences that I am certain some players will dislike when compared to the original. Having 1.5 as its own release would allow those players the ability to play DTD 1 without having to go through whatever it is they didn't like about 1.5.))
Now. This update, as far as I could tell, really helped with one of my biggest issues with DTD 1--and that was the uselessness of the Bash towers. I always have an issue with games where there are things about them that are simply not helpful--and in the original DTD, I thought that the Bash towers were one such example.

However the updates are nifty and the game's general concept remains great, the older version has originality. Just like expansions sometimes ruin a game, this update ruins this game a little.

An interesting update to a great game. Love the graphics, gameplay and sound effects, also how the Kongregate monsters turn at corners. Easy is very easy perhaps more levels? I believe this is actually the second update but anyway its okay and a reason to play the game again, maybe because you didn't get a good score last time. If you missed it before definitely play this, one of the best games on here. I feel version 1.5 was not really needed but is still a great update. Desktop Tower Defense 1.5 is a must play and I highly recommend playing it right now. 96/100 A great update to an already classic game. Thanks preecep.

oh i also forgot to say that the creeps that have been modified look AWESOME!!(especially like the Group creeps and the immunes)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
SWEET!!! i love the new DTD interface!! i also like the sound the creeps make when they die... now it dont remind me of lemmings... but yes AWESOMENESS!!! 5/5!!!XD

Those who complain that the dark creeps are too difficult and the ink towers are useless still have a bit of experimenting to do...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
PROTIP:
Dark creeps are only killed by ink towers and can be frozen using frost towers...
the thing is, you need to use frost towers to freeze them while they're going around the ink tower so that it does damage and hits. the author needs to fix that, because whenever i hit a dark creep without freezing it first, it doesn't get damaged -_-

Well It's a great update great new graphic's and new sounds, also the new tower is a great add (probably should make ik stay longer?), also I believe tehe only downfall is the new (noiw dubbed crzy mother &@&@$#'@ because almost imposible to kill) so basicly great job keep up the work!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great new content, in my opinion. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I couldn't stop the dark creeps :-( Another addicting game!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Beware: This game is frighteningly addictive. I don't really like the new "dark creeps" as they take forever to kill it seems, thus leaving other waves to run you over. The ink tower is also just ok, don't think it helps out that much, but I also didn't max upgrade it.

Loved the game but Ink Towers are completely useless. The blob disappears almost instantly. What I suggest is tweaking the blob so it stays on the ground for a good 5 seconds, damaging whatever wealks over it with a damage over time effect.

Really nice update. The new graphics make it look lovely and the interface makes things much easier to work out on the fly.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I found the new tower they added a bit useless to be honest. Nonetheless, it is an awesome game that I simply cannot stop playing.

In the developer's defense, I specifically requested that he upload this version as a new game rather than an update. This one has a lot of improvements, but I think they're different enough games to warrant it. Some may even prefer the original.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Bock a billy, the new graphics aren't even close to confusing. They add more clarity, add give a value to things like range and rate of fire as opposed to "slow" or "good".
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The new graphics are really confusing. In V1.0 they were simple to read and understand but in this I find it hard to comprehend what is what. Nice new creep designs. Overall good game but same as before.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's kind of milking the success of the last game while not being a sequel which is kind of dissapointing... That said though, I'm still addicted as hell and will likely waste too much time on this. As always, good job!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Malachi.. My guess is that this version of the game is going to be a cornerstone game of the "achievement" system thats coming next week. I don't know what they'll do with the old one...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There have been massive balancing changes, new towers and creeps added, and new modes added. I think its a good upgrade to an extremely fun game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oops, my last comment is sort of confusing... What I meant was that now there are two different versions of the same game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great new version of a great game, but did you have to upload a new game (instead of just updating the previous one)?
