That lovely moment when you realise you can heal everyone in the party, or attack all enemies, by using the right and left arrows respectively. Makes crowd control SO much easier...

just in case no one ever said it, if you go to the guard captain in canonia after you find the shaman, he will give you 1000 generic gold coins

@lunagangclan he wont find geojacket if he search every chest, he have to go behind where you fought the zombie shaman and search some bones i think.

The jokes make this game what it is. I love this game. By far the best flash RPG out there at the moment. Currently playing my way through them, so I hope 4 out is before I finish 3! Could you possibly add a volume control? That would be great.

The reason why people rated this one star was this game was so epic it made their eyes go blind making them accidentally clicking one star when they ment to click 5/5 stars. Tsk.

To all the undying fans of Mardek: this is it people, Pseudolonewolf is finally considering making the next opus, and wants your opinion. So if you're still looking forward to Mardek 4+, then massively post your responses to his message following the thread below: https://tamingmind.com//227

In case you missed it (I know I did the first few times), if you return to the gems mines after defeating the bandit leader, you can explore all three paths and get a bunch of chests and one of the miners gives you a pickaxe pendant.

I love the zombie locksmiths sword. A keyblade. Square Enix be proud that a designer as awesome as Pseundolonwolf uses their weapon is used in this game.

If your in the second part of the sewers (when moric takes over Goznor) use the map to look for secret passages, the secret passages look like walls, but are walkthrough. On the map, it looks like a normal path though

Pseudolonewolf.. Man, I gotta tell you this game series is awesome.
You managed to catch my eye with this game in chapter one. The dialogue, gameplay, and story all really mesh up well. one of my biggest "thumbs up" for this game is how you make it fun, yet serious. By that I mean these games give a lot of deep story, plot development, gameplay, etc but at the same time you slip in funny quirks and tags to items. Dialogue between characters is actually fun to read instead of being it becoming one of those games where you just want to mash A until you get out of it.
Your game has a solid battle / level up system, great character development, a fantastic story, and just becomes more and more of a great experience as I play. You really deserve the 5/5 rating for this game. This game series truly is epic and, in my opinion, takes myself and many other gamers back to the time when games were amazing.

dear people, alot dont seem to know, try to find the silver sword in the sewer parts bevofore the tomb, give this to the paladin, unlocks a power that caters specifically to undead creatures, this is very useful, for it does quite a lot of damage, and this sword also causes double damage to undead, so this, combined with the spell, makes it a very potent spell against creatures, the key zombie, will be nothing but a nother zombie when you have this weapon, there is a second silver sword, but i for got where it was

Hint - save before killing Moric, You can get a Kite Shield after defeating Him, and some Fallen Soldiers that he summons, but is a 5% drop rate. if didn't drop just exit and reload the save and try again

I love the immaculately maintained path that leads right up a magnificent rock that has absolutely no significance whatsoever to the game or story. Details like this are what make a game.

@Strongbad123: Go back to where you faced Moric in the catacombs, and you'll find a door behind where you fought him. Through there is social fox's tomb, the zombie dragon and a trilobite key. Be careful, because the monster in that room are much stronger the the ones in the rest of the catacombs.
@Death136: Spr stands for Spirit. It determines the power of magical attacks, your maximum MP, and the effectiveness of several skills in both this chapter, the next, and presumably any new chapters Pseudo makes in the future. The only skill in this chapter (as far as I know) whos damage is known to be determined by Spr (besides magic, of course) is Deugan's spirit blade.

So...no one's gonna say anything about how when Deugan goes to wake up Mardek he jumps into bed once they cut the chatter?

This game is a radically good Flash RPG that is the best one I have seen. The storyline is good, and the mix of retro graphics with great battle graphics makes for a very refreshing game. Mixed with a good bit of humor, and simple controls, the game redefines how Flash RPGs should be made.

This game is just awesome, 5/5. And for people that don't know this, when you master a skill, meaning when you max the mastery, it mean that when ever you take off the item that you get the skill from, you get to keep that skill. Now, this may seem like 'no shit sherlock' to some of you, but there may be someone else out there that doesn't know that so ya :D Just so you know :]

I resistances have you confused, here's how they work: Firstly, all numbers are percentages. They're also color-coded. Purple = Deals more damage. Blue = Resists Damage/Status. Green = Absorbs Damage. Keep alive so others can see.

If you hold X, the intro text scrolls a lot faster, so you can skip it faster that way.
I'm curious though as to why people bother playing RPGs at all if they're just going to skip the plot. I myself get involved with the plot and dialogue of RPGs, and any battle things are just obstacles that need to be tediously overcome so then I can see more plot. And RPGs which only have brief and apathetic plot as a necessary means to move along the action always disappoint me... But do other people just play for the combat or something? Without even caring WHY they're fighting?
I know the text is irritatingly small in this though, but like I said, I can't choose what size the game displays at. You can play the game at a MUCH larger size on CMG or my website though (it's linked to on the title screen of the game).

Hi fellow fans! I came from a group(authorized by Pseudo) that wants to continue the Mardek franchise, all grassroots. We are kinda undermanned, though, so any help (code, music, art, dialogue, mechaics, writing, etc) is appreciated. Find us here: https://discordapp.com/channels/541634974273503242/599659864725127217

Great game. Controls were a little awkward for me (using the mouse and both sides of the keyboard at the same time requires a number of hands I do not possess), and I slightly resent Ch. 1 for failing to give me my badges, but the controls didn't interfere with my battling and the MARDEK series is just too awesome to hold a grudge for long, so no harm done.
Loved the battle system. Reminded me a lot of a cross between Pokemon (DON'T GO INTO THE TALL GRASS!11!!!) and Final Fantasy (DON'T GO ANYWHERE OUTSIDE THE TOWNS!11!!1!) for some reason. Don't ask why. X3
Although, it's amazing how you can hear someone crying from all the way across a lake... plotfail. XP

TIP: Soloing zombies during either invasion is an easy way to finish 40-50 battles for Passive Skills. Also, if you like Zach, get as many KILLING blows on enemies as possible. In Chapter 3 he learns a skill where his damage is based off of how many foes he's killed, and it's MUCH easier to train here in this chapter.

Great chapter once again! It was worth playing it through a second run thanks to all the new updates in the newer version. The interface is much more smoother, the storage system really helps especially for all the new items, and having an actual reaction bar to time your hits/defence at the precise moments really tops it off. Thanks again for the game, I'll be looking forward to Chapter 3 when I get to it.

For those who have trouble: You need to assign the Skill Points before you start fighting. Once you have completed the starting dialog, press enter, then down (for Skills), then X (to assign Mardekās SP), then right for Physical Attack Reactions, then right for Physical Defense Reactions etc. Press down and X to select or unselect skills. The Z and enter keys get you to the previous screens.
By doing so, I could play through the first half of this chapter without any grinding at all. I hope this helps.

If you talk to one of the miners in the Gem Cave after you've defeated the boss, he gives you a Pickaxe Pendant. Also, remember to return to the Guard Captain to receive 1,000 gold after you clear the Tainted Grotto. Bump!

@Jwaxson Chances are, it's your fault. The second Moric is the easier to beat, I know because I've beaten this game numerous times on both versions ('07 and '10). I would suggest starting over, not skipping any battles, grabbing every chest, mastering every skill, and returning to areas you'd beaten previously (gem mines, where you beat the shaman, and where you beat Moric particularly). Use your map to navigate and get every chest from every room. What I said is RPG common sense, I suppose, but not many people seem to know.
