Thank you for such a great game, and a great series! This is such an improvement from last chapter in every way. I loved the background from the dreamstones, and the variety of party members is great too, although ever since I got them I've stuck to Mardek-Sharla-Gloria-Zach, I tried them all and I'll try other combinations.
About the game itself something seems a bit off with the spell mechanics. For example, healing spells are reduced by M.Barrier (this DOES make sense and can easily be bypassed with items). Also when I cast any beneficial spell, the reaction skills are applied on your party member, this wasn't a problem until Sharla got the "M+Stun 20%" and when I tried to apply the null air buff to the entire party... half of them were parallyzed as a result. I don't know if this is the way it's intended but, in any case, whenever I'm casting something on my party I don't react anymore :P
Obviously 5/5, and I'll be looking forward to your future games (Mardek 4?). Keep it up!

@fubu1: It doesn't cure KO'dness either, so I would have to assume it's negative status effects, like poison, darkness... etc.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@fubu1- Shield,M. Shield, and Haste are all spell effects- not status effects, which would be classified as poison, stun, numbness, ect.

Based off what I read it seems that alot of people are 'haters' as stated above, I clearly don't see why they should hate, if peopl work hard on it, give them a chance, say it's good think of the good things in the game and state them, even though it may be shit, it's nice for the people to think they did a good job...

remedy - "...remove any and all status effects..."
mystery dude... is haste, m. shield and reg shield not a status effect?

Badges would be nice. Frankly, the MARDEK series deserves more that a measly 5/5. It deserves a 10/5. Cannot wait for MARDEK 4: The Awesome Continues.

3.5 out of 5. 2 main reasons (1). you have a great game setup with a lot of complexity and possibility. but i don't like that you no control over your character development. you are so restricted on what skills each character can learn, and you have no control over what alignment your characters are. this made me feel like i was not playing my character but rather playing another character. possible point of inspiration on this point would be hero of might and magic (the newest one). While characters have original alignment, the player also have a lot of control development. It would be good if for example, you can learn nature spells or do something so that you can learn nature spells, and have it work in a interesting way. (2) There is not enough synergy between characters. this would really improve the games. for this you really have to look at monster den here on Kongragate. Skills that stuns units, slows units, blind units, extra damage on stun units, things like that.

Im loving the game so far but i noticed one little problem... i had a M. shield cast on one of my allies, and then when i used heal on him the amount healed was cut in half by the M.Shield

+++++++++++++ for badges??? anyone? i think it deserves it... even if it is stolen i dont look at whol put it up i just look at the game and that in itself is an accomplishment, knowing that you made the game even though someone else put it up.

Thank you pseudolonewolf for such a great game, and such great feedback/updates.
Someone reports a problem and nearly a hour later you fix it. This will definately be game of the year from me.

This game is turning out to be awesome, I love it.
only problem is, I'm trying to make the Inventor's claws so he can do something other than fire damage, and the only vendor who sells bronze swords is currently having an existential crisis about his dead son. ._.;

Well, naturally, people who come in as soon as the game is released and pass judgement without even playing very far into it will be impatient "haters". Meanwhile, people who take the time to see what the game is about are more likely to appreciate it.
However, this game is still rated lower than Sonny. Fix it, people.

First of all, on , awesome game !!
However I'd have a suggestion : it would be REALLY GREAT to be able, in the inventory window, to see all your stuff, especially the equipment (weapon, hate, shield, necklace etc etc) whatever the character selected, so that you can see what competences they didn't learn yet without having to change your items from character to character (or learning the competences of each item and those which your character learnt... which could be longer than finishing the game)...
Anyway, thanks for this great release, I didn't even know it was possible to get to a game that great in flash !

I have always been a fan of the MARDEK series, and this is the masterpiece, idk how pseudolonewolf will be able to top this, but im sure he can. The dreamstones are incredible and I cant wait to get the rest, and the stories of these characters, well it is just freaking incredible!!!

I really like this series, but, on Mardek 3, when I try to save in Xantusia, at the Inn, after I get the Chief in my party. It sais the file is from another chapter and says everything is 'undefined' (It does show the level correctly though). I tried changing the Adobe Flash Player settings to unlimited and tried it but it still didn't work. Is this because I am using IE6? I'm going to try another save point to see what happens.

This is not a Final Fantasy ripoff! This is a humorous parody of final fantasy and a deep and serious game that follow its footsteps. In some ways, this game is better than the final fantasy games. MARDEK takes that genre that FF has created and adds something new to it. The battle system is clever and builds upon the simple turn base system with reactions. The storyline certainly does not fall below the story lines of the FF series. It has a deep and mysterious plot and well built characters to support it. The music of MARDEK clearly represents the humorous and saddening themes in the game. AND the most amazing part?...This was made by one person..and its still a GREAT game. You are dearly mistaken if you say this is a cheap Final Fantasy ripoff.

1/5... And if you wanna know why, here you go. Why the F*** would you put every "secret" in a way that if I play without reading the walkthrough at the same time, I cannot get to any of the 2 secret bosses, nor the Cambria Arena, that has no sense at all, I won't spend 2 or 3 more days playing it through all over again, at least at other RPG's like Zelda, you can find everything after you finish the game without having to replay it entirely, this is nonsense...

The water Temple is maddening, and the walkthrough only tells you what to do if you follow it from the start, I tried on my own and now the switches are out of wack so the instructions "Flip the switch" are meaningless since I cant remember what they originally were.
Overall, AMAZING tho

is it just me, or are there MANY clues to suggest that the mystery man, when first seen, is steele?
First of all, his look, people can recognize how steele's face looked like(with or without an eyepatch). also, the dreamstone after he left tells us he knows Emela and was THE SUBJECT of her thunderbolt... only steele has been hit (apparently) in the eye. of course, some people will tell me to shut up because ANYONE can figure it out, but i'm just saying :D

I have but on problem with this game, and it is the same problem I've had with your whole series, I hate having to desperately track down a crystal just to save my game and quit. Everything else about this game is perfectly perfect. And even though I hate the saving options, it's not necessarily a bug or a problem with the game, merely a feature of it, therefore I grant Thee a 5/5.

Can't decide whether to play now or not... I would have killed the pirate guy and missed the Cambrian cave without the badges in part 2... so I think I'll wait for badges for part 3.
Sure it's great, can't wait to play it.

I found a bug : when i killed the saviors, my chars keep changing weapons very fast and they keep making spell casting moves and dying moves...

I just found out how to do masive group healing. Usse Elwyen Ballad of Ballance, and now use Gloria's Earth heal.....This game is very very good. Funy and balenced.

Gah. Sandflow Caves really needs to let you Warp to the Sun Temple or something. The place is huge, and it's a pain to walk all the way back to a save point. Especially since the passages in this game are always made very very long with all the snaky, curving, zig-zag paths.

I think the game is excellent. I'm very impressed with the skill system the balance and the play. Unfortunately, I find myself currently stuck in the water temple. I tried to figure out the puzzle and even turned to the guide in my desperation. Even following the guides specific instructions I am unable to flip the moonstone switch as the platforms described in the guide simply do not appear. While, this might be a bug, It is more likely a mistake on my part. If anyone knows how to fix this situation any help would be appreciated

This is so reminescent of other RPGs... Yes, it does sound like FF at moments (but not as in rip-off, but more as in... "Oh that sounds like FF" :/, meanwhile, if I didn't put that parenthesis, I'd be scared of being attacke by haters O_o). But not only FF, but also Earthbound. Hell yeah. Except Mardek's humor is more psychological than that of Mother. But the Dreamworld... It's Moonside. It's the first thing I thought. And the volcano level. But seriously, it's not like we see millions of these kinds in games at all anyway. And Mario RPG too... But not chrono trigger for some reasons. Heh. (Oh, and the game is awesome and I've already said all that before).

I've uploaded an update that should allow you to get the chalices if you missed them (monsters are rarer rather than gone completely), and I've also hopefully fixed the bug where pixies or fairies used their status gas attack repeatedly when they should only have used it once.
