Wow, my computer is utter crap. I love this game! I almost have an addiction to it, but, I seem to be severely handicapped by my computers ability to make this game lag every few seconds. I really love this game, as well as CBC(Clarence's Big Chance to anyone who doesn't know). Keep it up with the challenges!

It's better than most games, that's for sure... HOWEVER (I'm not trying to be critical here, please don't take this the wrong way, it's MY COMPUTER'S problem!) like some other games I play... the keys jam! It's VERY hard to play with the keys jamming randomly (I sometimes RUN INTO obstacles!), but I kind of gotten use to it. The music is something, THAT'S for sure! All in all I give a 5/5. :D

I enjoy the gameplay, but the jumping feels awkward and clunky. I'm not sure how you'd go about fixing this issue, either. Still, fun game and I really enjoyed it.

Ladder execution is lazy and poorly designed. Any "old school" game I've played would accept a continuous up-command for grabbing onto a ladder like that. I'm glad the hard-mode enthusiasts enjoyed the nostalgia, but there's a reason they "don't make 'em like this anymore." Because the annoyances are DESIGN FLAWS.

I may not have grown up being exposed to the classics first thing but now classics are my favorite. Your games awesome.

Congratulations Pseudo! Raider has officially been rated "Platform Hell" by those folks on tvtropes! I believe this puts it above "Nintendo Hard", which is what many people are calling this.
(sorry for the jargon, I'm fairly sure pseudo knows what I mean)
Nonetheless I am a huge fan. I love your works, and I doubt I will ever find anyone ever worth 5 stars besides you.

Legit difficulty, but there should be a purple checkpoint before the boss since you have to die a lot before knowing how to beat it.

Jumping physics were weird, but I guess that's acceptable. The constant "This game is so hard" stuff was a bit annoying after a while -- just let the game speak for itself!

this game made me pull out my hair, caused three bouts of blind fury, and made me want to throw my PC out the window. I LOVED IT!

Nah this is just annoying. I've read all that rubbish about old games being better cause they're hard but maybe games aren't so hard because people realized they're more rewarding when the goals are attainable. It's called evolution and progress.

Oh, one more thing you should know of, in the 9th room theres a glitch in the spike pits. I got stuck and was jumping around then i glitched through the wall and fell out of the boundaries of the game but didnt register as a death. Just thought you should know but I doubt others have experienced this and its not really a big problem.

Wow this game is amazing..Its challenging yet simple. I especially love the graphics , reminds me of those retro systems. Personally I only had one issue with it, its when you fall into the spikes, In my opinion it would make more sense to be a instant death besides slowly dieing because most of the time a ledge is not there or just to high, but thats just my opinion and again great work I hope to see more of your games.

he needs to add armor and better swords and maybe Machine gun or rifle instead of just 1 shitty blaster lol it can be lazer and can be just normal rounds to (add ammo to that would be great :D)

games like this, (which are great) make me hate internet explorer's sticky keys. I keep getting to the location, then the stuck key makes me go back.

All these ignorants posting underrated comments don't get the point of this game. It's supposed to be challenging. It's supposed to be retro. Also, I found no problem with the controls, as I could customize them to my liking.
At any rate, this is a huge throwback to some of my favorite games. While it's no Actraiser 2 in difficulty, it sure does live up to your description. 5/5 and faved.

Wow, someone who isn't afraid to make a game hard. The difficulty is excellent, the gameplay is great (old NES and SNES platformers FTW!), and overall, I had lots of fun playing this game. 5/5

Immediatly lost interest when I found out how impossible the short jumping between ladders is. Poorly executed but has potential 2/5

I like this game, but I could play better if I had controller. Maybe someone can try and make this a ROM and put it on a cartridge or disc and sell it.

I really enjoyed this. It was much shorter than i expected, however. The difficulty was PERFECT, and I wish you would just ignore the complainers and keep it throughout all 5 chapters, ratings be damned. I do think the final boss was a tad bit too much of a jump in difficulty from the rest of the level, however.

This game got a rather high rating on newgrounds. The rating here reflects on the nature of the audience rather than the actual quality of the game.
Not saying its perfect though, far from in fact. But both design and concept is really great, no doubt.
