Wow, someone who isn't afraid to make a game hard. The difficulty is excellent, the gameplay is great (old NES and SNES platformers FTW!), and overall, I had lots of fun playing this game. 5/5

Also, I am really glad to see that the game has attracted a few people who actually do remember the good old games which were actually challenging, which you could play for ages without really getting anywhere because you kept dying, but when you did, it felt like such a satisfying accomplishment... Modern games, with their instant gratification and 'Death is a slap on the wrist' mechanics don't really have this same feeling...

Pesudo, you're brave posting this somewhere where a lot of people didn't gorw up playing old games. The uneducated bastards need to go out and get an old nintendo. xD Dude, why weren't you getting paid for this earlier in time? If this was the standard for 8 bit games back in the day, things would have been soooooooo much better. Build a time machine. seriously.

I really hope you don't let people get you down. This game is simply amazing. It's tuning is quite simply perfect. You managed to recreate the best parts of ye olde NES style gaming, without all the old cheapness like unresponsive controls and sloppy handling. It's frankly the best game I've played in ages, and I really hope you finish all 5 episodes. I particularly enjoyed hard mode. 3 health, 3 lives, and instant death spikes really feels just right. This is what videogames should be like.

Okay, one: IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A PLATFORMER! Two: Who cares about combat? IT'S A PLATFORMER! 3: The genre has had it's day because people are too bad at gaming now. Early platformers were actually DIFFICULT. Thus, it is not cheap. The only reason most people hate this game is because they can't cope with difficulty.

Oh, one more thing you should know of, in the 9th room theres a glitch in the spike pits. I got stuck and was jumping around then i glitched through the wall and fell out of the boundaries of the game but didnt register as a death. Just thought you should know but I doubt others have experienced this and its not really a big problem.

All these ignorants posting underrated comments don't get the point of this game. It's supposed to be challenging. It's supposed to be retro. Also, I found no problem with the controls, as I could customize them to my liking.
At any rate, this is a huge throwback to some of my favorite games. While it's no Actraiser 2 in difficulty, it sure does live up to your description. 5/5 and faved.

I didn't expect to like this (the preview image made me think it was just a rocket-blaster game) but I do. It was pretty hard even on easy level but I suppose I should have expected that, eheh. What kept me around was the brilliant and hilarious dialogue.

Wow. Even the tutorial was hard. But it was also rather funny... "WHAT? HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT? WHO'S CONTROLLING ME? I WON'T LET ANYONE CONTROL ME!!" Still stuck on the minimal ladder jumping.

I finally got the S rank, but does anyone know how to beat the boss with the sword only? I can't seem to get that achievement as the sword doesn't hit him. :(

while i agree with pseudo on some points i think modern day games are still difficult. while platformers require you to simply put in a button combination to reach a goal, games these days require actuall skill to play. the most common example is of halo. with the option to turn on the skulls and add even more difficulty, most people are too pussy to actually turn them on aand actually challenge themselves. games these days do have the instant gratification of achievements and what not, but who doesnt like to feel good after beating a game on the hardest difficulty. but, all in all, good game. ;)

Too many controls? Are you guys idiots? There are 3 fing buttons!! 4 if you count the shift for small jump but anyways. How can just plain 4 buttons be too many? Also just tell me how much buttons a regular game on let's say PS3 game uses. EVERY DAMN BUTTON IT HAS. On the old NES you had 2 buttons, A and B. The SNES probably the best console ever had 4 and you say it's too many? Sheesh people are right when they say that new gamers are bunch of wimps.

As for the rest, it seems to be typical for games of this type to have the hitbox smaller than the character, and I'm sure you'd complain a lot more if the hitbox was as big as the character (it used to be, and it made things like the ghosts bit far more frustrating). Things like this and being unable to slash on ladders (it's not necessary or useful to ever do so anyway, so I didn't bother to code and animate it) are things that you figure out as you play, and surely you would not expect to be guided by the hand and told every little thing as if you were some kind of retard...? Figuring out minor things is part of becoming familiar with the game, not 'fake difficulty'.

This game wasn't as hard as I expected it to be, a disappointment, but perhaps I'm too masochistic to judge. The game gets points for keeping me busy and wanting to find out what was next, and for that I give it a 4.5/5 (But I'll rate 5 for the ratings to go up)

Love this game Pseudo. Im a really huge fan and I cannot wait until Mardek 3 is released and we see the great work you put into it. Also I think Deliverance was your greatest game ever. Thanks for the great games.

Excellent game. Not the style I would usually play but very well done. You also get a bonus point for having a well executed music track. 6/5

Wow this game is amazing..Its challenging yet simple. I especially love the graphics , reminds me of those retro systems. Personally I only had one issue with it, its when you fall into the spikes, In my opinion it would make more sense to be a instant death besides slowly dieing because most of the time a ledge is not there or just to high, but thats just my opinion and again great work I hope to see more of your games.

I played straight off the dot on Intermediate, and let me tell you it is the most gratifying hour I have ever had. A few tips for the final boss if you're not playing on the wuss setting: It is possible to beat him without getting hit. I did it when I figured it out. You just need to time your jumps. Shoot when he shoots, then jump, then shoot and he'll get hit by your bullet in the air if you time it properly. When he starts shooting all over the level, don't jump everywhere or you'll be streaking through a warzone. Same goes for when you're dodging most of the bullets, actually. You need to stay still and focus. Time your jumps and you'll be all good. + so others can see.

Awesome job! Can't get past the boss though without a better idea of a strategy, but this game is great. I'm loving it. Too bad I can't beat to see what happens. :(

Really nice game. Shame I can't seem to get it to work without pressed keys seeming to "freeze" in te pressed state or just not responding entirely. I even set memory use to unlimited, reset my coputer and have only this running beyond typical windows operating stuff. Still trudging away at it on Beginner mode but I doubt I'll be abe to play it on the harder dificulties with these problems.

If this game lags for you, either you have a REALLY ancient computer (probably made of stone or something), or there's a browser-related problem, perhaps. Try another browser, but if that doesn't work, then I really am sorry, but it seems that you should take it as a hint that your computer may be in need of replacing. It takes a while to add new features, and I can't add configuration settings for minorities such as people with obsolete hardware, people who are blind, people who have postage-stamp-sized monochrome monitors, etc... o_O

I cant control my keys the way this game needs me to. When you cant complete the tutorial, you know you're doomed. Good on you those of you that can do it. Enjoy!

Yes the ghosts are annoying but it IS passable... i made it out with 4 HP on easy, yes i know i'm a noob I admit it but i do say it IS beatable otherwise awesome game perfect length, difficulty control and everything, so it clearly deserves a 10/10

I may not have grown up being exposed to the classics first thing but now classics are my favorite. Your games awesome.

Clearly I'm a little bit rusty... I used to get through megaman when I was about 8... the stages aren't so tough, but that first boss... whew...I don't even think lag would help me.

This game is downright insane. It is more than a test of speed and reflex; it is a test of courage and manhood/womanhood. This game can earn you the right to say that you are mighty! You are supreme! You are *cue song we are the champions*
