I have no clue why people are saying the checkpoints are too far apart.
I haven't played very far, but so far, it seems there's one per "encounter" (places that have roughly the same problem over a certain distance, such as the ghosts), which is the way it's suposed to be for hard games with medium-sized "encounters"

yet again pseudo lone wolf has started another awesome retro series with his notorious knack for providing interesting story as well as just fun. good work and keep them coming ;D 5/5 (couldn't help but notice that arkus looks mysteriously similar to pseudos avatar)

@0009. Awww.... Poor baby. You couldn't win on your first try. What the hell happened to actually playing games that were difficult and achieving something? Oh yeah. Hard games imply that the player isn't great at everything, and that hurts his feelings.

Very, very spiffy. I haven't played a game like this in like a decade.
And bestgamer: If my memory serves me correctly the commander keen and Johnny Bash Series used the Spacebar for jump so it's not unheard of.

The boss destroys me... Excellent game though, I'm really enjoying it so far. Although, if there's no more to this level after this boss, I'll have to go back and look for the two artifacts I've missed..

Wow you made the boss way to hard. I tried like twenty times and i still am not able to beat him. I thought I would be able to until I saw him make that different movement when he actually aims at you. All in all it was good. Just please try to make the boss a little bit easier next time please!

i kind of like the concept, but i don't really care for the controls, the sword is too slow (and doesn't have a combo option, but Megaman Zero has ruined me, lol) and ever tying else seems just slightly unresponsive.

Heyyy maybe you shouldnt be playing games while your being paid you ass. Stop taking advantage of your postition at work. And then possibly get caught? Turn the volume off on your computer you retard.

I love games like this but there's something about the controls that bothers me. the amount of times I've missed a ladder because I didn't press up...

Good game, the ladders are a real bitch though.You get to the top and have to jump just right, or you get to the bottom and can't get off them without jumping.Definitely fix that it's killed me once already.

Not bad. Could use an option to change the controls to whatever keys you want. Other than that pretty fun. I like the old style games. Hopping on all the little platforms kinda reminded me of good ol Kid Icarus - probably more of Megaman I guess, but oh the fun I had on Kid Icarus. =)

To all the people that complain about it being "to hard", you were warned it would be hard. Or do people not read descriptions these days? Besides, I wouldn't call it "impossibly hard", maybe hard but not to hard.

At first I was like, bah, This is nothing, I've seen much harder. But then, When you get to the point where you really lose your lifes like all at one spot... it's like.. Ugh!
Really well done, I love it. Got to beat all chapters now.
btw. First boss is a pain... A real one.

Certainly been ages. I have a friend who may like this. He's the type who will play old platformers like Megaman I continually til he can get through easily. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a boss to lose against. I'll get him yet!
