Kinda short with lots of little things that bother me, but don't really take away from the game.
1.I dont know much about the enemies, and its a little lame that they are so easy to kill and of so few types that it doesnt matter. Maybe a beastiary, more enemies, and tougher enemies would seal the deal.
2. You teased me with the motion and super door levels. I realized it would have been hard, but integrating moving platforms and mad door rushes would have helped that last level from becoming a tower defense.
3. The tower defense bit? 20 turns is way to long to have us sit around. we dont have enough ammo to storm the level, but once you get rid of anything dangerous the little guys can be held off by a bayonet or two, with my other guys sitting around for lack of ammo.
Apart from these issues, AMAZING and its easy to see the work that went into it. As stated, these issues are minor, and dont take away from at least a 4 star rating, though I gave it 5

Wow, serious nostalgia here. It's making me want to dig out my old Incubation disc. Wonder if it'll run on my current computer.

On one of the levels (after you get the magnus guy) you're suppose to kill the spawners with magnus. Don't! Get all of your men to have the bayonet. Put your men in the square diagonal to the spawners. every turn just keep putting the men to defensive so as soon as they spawn they kill them with the bayonet. Enjoy the free xp ^^

Hey, awesome game there 5/5. Unfortunately the levels get just longer and don't add anything new in the later stages of the game. Generally the enemies aren't really a threat but only annoying. Especially the small ones are just a waste of ammo instead of threatening - and if you get hit the healing is ridiculously high. While the ammo limit makes the first few levels a bit more challenging, I don't feel like it adds anything interesting to the game. I'd rather have some stronger enemies than a endless wave of harmless small monsters, that just eat up ammo - that's not a particularly fun mechanic. This game has great potential to be improved to a really great game.

Tactical TBS will always have a zen cushy place in my heart. If for nothing else, I give this game my recommendation. I also commend the makers of this game for taking on the challenge of 3D game development in flash. I have a few serious critiques though.
3D was a bad choice for this particular game as it unfortunately only seems to get in the way. The second level was bar-none the hardest level, exemplifying the lack of smooth difficulty progression. By level 3 I could do 32 damage per attack with no monster requiring anywhere near that much bullet damage to kill, exemplifying a lack of mechanic balance. The mechanics were much less tactical than puzzle-based, which while certainly interesting is probably not quite as enjoyable as full tactical or full puzzle. As previously mentioned a few times, turns are slow and a method for skipping animations would have been greatly appreciated.

I think the game could use some balancing out. I found it too easy the first time. I was really close to destroying the last spawn point in the last level. I appreciated the game nonetheless. I think the defensive posture was way too powerful. I would just spawn camp with a pair of melee troops and wait for the heavy marine to show up.

found glitch: when you set a troop on defense and then a platform moves, he doesnt react to the creeps on that platform. also, a speed up / skip enemy turn is a MUST, takes forever.

Awesome game. I have just two complaints. 1) the enemies with the long range attacks are really lame. There's no strategy to handling them it's all luck. 2) an option to speed up the animations would be great.

good game but very easy, even on the last level i was able to completely clear the map of enemies. Being able to skip combat animations and some harder levels would be nice.

@Noah1212 your wrong, you get the command more marines later like daedalus and Magnus. (daedalus is a normal marine like the the fist 3 marines and Magnus is a heavy marine which has stuff like rockets)

great. Only prob is the lack of the opening story, if story give, would help gamers get the motivation to win since the only motivation is just to complete the game. Adding a creative story that gets the gamer to side the character (s)he is controlling would be a big plus. P.S. Can someone help me post it on the dev wall? I am lazy, leave a credit for me.

a wonderful trip down memory lane! I loved playing Incubation, though I have to say this is far, far easier. The big monsters don't pose much of a challenge since you can nuke them rather quickly with the grenade launcher, and the last mission was a let down. I kept expecting more monsters to leap out of the water to add to the difficulty, but as it was i was easily able to contain the little gribblies before they could even get out of the sewers. Brilliant game nontheless, and I would love to see a sequel!!!!

Ok, a small problem: I'm on the level with the big monsters and I don't have enough money for a rocket launcher. I tried to make the beasts go near the barrels, but they seem to stay at least 2 cells away and the barrels seems to don't affect them in that distance. Any Ideas? Do I have to start the game all over again?

This game owns! Only comments I have are (a) control-click doesn't work properly on Mac, so it would be nice to have that changed to shift-click, and (b) would be nice to have a slider somewhere for enemy speed, so you don't have to wait forever on some maps. Other than that, quite addictive.

I really enjoyed this game, however, I think it needs some retooling. The defensive mode needs a limit to the number of attacks it grants or something, because a guy with a bayonet is pretty much invulnerable to the little aliens that are swarm you. Also I would like to see the ability to specialize the troopers, rather than them all ending up as the same guy with maybe a different gun at max level.

Absolutely great! Thanks! Incubation feel was great! Hope for some more levels or stats for the soldiers. This is great already but the sequel should focus on team-building.

It's funny, you start the game and you think "oh my gosh, there was this game, what was it called, Incubation!, oh man that was a great game, i wonder if anyone else noticed, this is a real classic" *checks the comments*
You got me with this game, thanks for the time travel !

Nice game, but quite a bit to easy, enemies in last mission couldn't even damage my troops. With Bayonets spawn points get easily neutralized without cost of ammo ^^

Graphics are nothing short of awesome, and gameplay is really good as well. Feels a bit short and very easy though, and the levels follow the original game to the letter AFAIR. Looking forward to a sequel :)

awesome game, add some more lvls, raise the max lvl, new weapons/enemies and some ingame achievements and it would be perfect, go on with the great work :)
