I don't understand how you are meant to get the power-ups? Sometimes I put in a rubbish ring and get loads, sometimes I put in a great ring and only get points??

Best tips for completing the game: build up as many bonus abilties as possible and save them for the Fire levels. Slice Bombs to remove placement restrictions and Jokers to bypass them will be your absolute best friends, because every level at that point has at least 4 slices to absolutely lockdown your placement options for each segment. I gave up after the game said on two separate playthroughs that I'd need to put eight Sol tiles in a row and promptly filled my hand with only Stellas and Terras.

Really difficult luck-based game. I'm all for tough puzzles, but the amount of luck needed if you're short on bonuses is just not very fun. If you want the hard badge, save those bonuses up; especially any of them that let you bomb slices. Wouldn't suggest using them outside of the fire circle, if you can't make it there without going for broke, take the L and hope your luck is better next time. Be ready to play this game for an extended period of time.

Interesting concepts. Takes far too long to grasp. Tutorial is woefully deficient. Hard to develop good strategy. Took me a good 40 minutes to get past even level 3. Bonus cancel would be nice. Bomb had me confused and then fuming more than once (some are ring piece and some are slice). The game is highly dependent on luck. I've yet to grasp how I'm earning certain bonus points or items. It's a good game, but trying to wrap your head around the intricacies is a job best left to MENSA. There are aspects that warrant this whole game getting a serious overhaul. That "hard" badge is definitely one of the more difficult ones on the site. Hell, with the right luck, even some impossible badges are easier.

"Choose a slice to bomb" ... doesn't let you choose. blows up randomly without removing anything
This game is frustrating enough as it is, at least make the functionality do what it says it does.

There should be a way to cancel a bonus tool if you accidentally click it or change your mind. This game has a lot of potential but is missing some basic usability.

Using extra cards when you have full deals removes existing cards and potentially lowers your draw size. The game should warn about that.

Interesting and relaxing gameplay. The idea of having different combination bonuses each round sounds nice, but as others have mentioned the cards are truly random. With at most four cards in your hand, it is possible to get stuck and reaching combination goals is completely based on drawing cards that allow combinations. Never use bonuses unless you have to. Nice old game :)

Suppose you do stock up on special tools on the easier levels and get to use them. It gets to a point where all you have is the "new deal" and all it takes is one bad draw to reset ALL progress. That's the only flaw I see. If there were lives or checkpoints it wouldn't be frustrating to the point of rage quit

Game loses a ton of its luck factor when you realise you can freely move the tiles once played in the ring, regardless of whether they match or not. And then you get bonus tools for your combos. However, I can imagine that later levels will become way harder, and it sucks only having 1 try for everything.

This game requires 30 consecutive victories to beat (any defeat sends you back to level 1). Any game that has this requirement should NEVER allow you to fail simply due to bad luck in drawing your tiles. Poor game design.

The things that bother me are that you have no save, if you click a different bonus than the one you intended you lose it since you can't cancel it and the lose when ring is not strong enough? huh? I'd rather play hardcore diablo with high ping...

I apologize that people are finding the easy badge so frustrating. I love this game and remember that it took me ages to get the hard badge (I disagree with the idea that it's all luck, though, in fact, my husband once made spreadsheet of which combos got the best bonuses, it's all about earning the best stock of bonus tools in the easy rounds for when you need them later).

Easy badge my ass. I get ones that take time, but one wrong move here sends you to the beginning and you have to start the 1,000 again. It's frustrating to say the least.

It's absolutely ridiculous that you can't swap tiles. With limiters, sometimes it's impossible to move tiles to where they need to be, even when you have extra space. It's almost like this game was designed to be frustrating. 0/5

I sort of enjoy this round version of the ol' Alchemy game, but this is the hardest damned easy badge I can remember (except for all those
*#$%^@$ rhythm games).

Don't forget that you can move things after you place them, this is vital for fighting the randomness by letting you keep useful cards and getting free draws.

I'm always in trouble when a game changes my cursor. While cute, the dagger would not respond. I'm sure it's something in my system but it makes the game unplayable. I think I would have enjoyed playing but...

To get the achievement, go for the time trial. You get a lot of bonus points for time, and so you can easily get 1000 points.

It kinda sucks that so much of the game seems to be flat out luck. Normally I like these games but there seem to be times at higher levels where the game is flatout unwinnable because I need a really specific tile to that never shows up and I don't have the tools to make it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you don't have to complete the level to get the 1000 points, so when you reach like 800 points , just try to match a lot of the same colours/symbols without finishing it

Go for combos and you can get the easy badge without too much trouble. Not worth trying to beat the whole game, though.

Something not mentioned, I believe, is that pieces can freely be moved around on any of your turns as long as limiters don't prohibit it. Pieces placed are not there permanently.

It is not purely luck, there are strategies you need to employ to get the hard badge. You DO need luck to get it and will need to grind over and over to get the luck, but if you keep at it you'll see the patterns of what you need to do. If the dev gave a better description of how to unlock powerups it would probably be easier for people.

Oh god not this game. I had blissfully repressed all my memories of this game for years. Why would you do this to me BoTD WHYYY!!?

This game makes no sense. I consider myself a fairly smart guy, but this one stumped me. I apparently don't do well with pure luck-based games. Match colors and symbols? I can do that. Have an array of colors and symbols that rarely match on both sets? Now I'm confused. Which holds more weight? Colors, or symbols? Why do I get a rainbow hodge-podge with every draw? Why do I only have four to choose from, even when using bonus tools and draw takes one away each time while being no help? How moons, stars, and globes stop a dragon's fire, much less tame it? Why does time trial give only marginally more points than relaxed? Why does this seem like a Neopets game?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
uhm that's a game that could be great but need some improvement, at this point is luck based and hard badge should be an impossible badge at least

i made a quadruple harmonic set (four of each colour) and still lost?? i tried multiple times to make a harmonic set and each time i was still killed. there's also no instruction at all on how to make certain sets, just a vague description. "large amounts," does that mean that every tile has to be yellow to make a pool set? or do i just have to have it be the majority? how do you make a power set? which tiles work for that? are they matching tiles? there's no way of telling unless you use a ton of trial-and-error, and that amount of it usually ruins games.
