There is an easter egg in the game. When the gambler comes round and asks to gamble your food. If you have enough food, keep clicking to gamble. Eventually the gambler will say you have run him out of food and give you his cat, Neelie. This is an item that you can equip for +0.5 scavenging, science, building, and leadership! Bump this up so others can know this secret too!

yukozuma's strategy is good, but here's better: to win impossible mode beat the game in an easy setting (pretty easy or kind of tough) then conquer the whole city. Get all all the science upgrades to stop random people from dying and that food doesn't suddenly give out. Then make 5 schools and constantly train your top 5 favourite characters there until ALL of their stats are maxed (the character list only shows the first 3 skills that were maxed first though). Using either the City Hall or the Helicopter, send these 5 super-citizens to a new city where you replay it in impossible mode :)

I have an idea. There should be a prison building. Maybe add a special encounter where you meet some prisoners and decide whether to allow them to join you or not. Consequences of that will be your decision. But it could add to places to stay or as a fortifed area.
