Now about hard badge, it's not that hard since you can refuse to lost zombie attack :) if the zombies attack and are succesful, if you close your browser window and then open and load, guess what - you start the day before, so you have endless chances. Now with the combination of aggresive and risky game with a bit of luck for buildings on start (big farm, police station, ideally research lab) you'll get the hard badge easily on first try, at least it was my case (on harder difficulty)

Great game, I did some research and observation so here are the informations: - instead of rebuild2, here the zombie amount is not limited by tiles you don't own, so you can have all territories except one and there can still be thousands of zombies. -the speed of which the z are growing per turn is constantly increasing and cannot be influenced (data on easy: day177= +35 zombies per turn, day 243 = +41 .... ) while getting dark portal or constitution makes you win the game, it does not stop the zombies from growing, the only think which help is research (cure for zombeism) and of course take all territories.

On Nightmare level it's essential to start fast. Expand and get more people, food and of course the all-important hospital before you lose too many survivors to sickness. Science keeps your people fed, safer and eventually keeps them from zombifying after festering bites or scratches.

Wow it's hard to get the lasting legacy badge. I think you have to find a map in which you start adjacent to malls/police stations for defense, and rely on luck to quickly expand your population and farming limitations.

the most deadly thing in this game,sheet metal,killing hundreds of zombies yourself? fine.zombie fistfights?fine. but even if you are with an escort of 100 soldiers the sheet metal WILL kill you

after a few years from my last playthrough of this and about 1/2-3/4 of a decade from my first playthrough finally coming back to this makes me nostalgic for the golden age of this site

when you reclaim the area you just build a fence around it...but there is still the food you could scavange...why do you take HALF of the food?when I dint know about the half thing I reclaimed 4 farms whit "lotsa food"cuz my humans were STARVING and then they still DIED cuz of the food!everything was perfect!>:(

Winning the hard badge is about luck and moving quickly in the early game. The most important things to get quickly are: a hospital, housing and large farms. And it's more important to have a high population than enough farms because you can always scavenge for food while you're expanding. Schools are pointless for most of the game as you can train soldiers from blank units just be putting them on guard duty. Also, the difficulty increases incrementally. So, if you're losing ground and people before you have victory conditions in sight: it's probably best to just start over.

Months had passed, though it felt like years. Starting with only a few survivors, the numbers ever so slowly began to climb. At 30 people, we thought we were safe. It seemed that we might actually win the war against these damned creatures. But just when things were looking up, when the end to The End seemed in reach, a horde of Zed unlike any we'd faced before. One by one the members of my group died. They were picked off, like a child plucking fruit from a bush. When the hordes finally ended there were only 8 of us. I couldn't believe what had just happened. Everyone...everyone was gone. From then we slowly starved. Without any soldiers, we couldn't go nowhere. Our farms had run dry and so it seemed our luck as well. It didn't take long until I was the only on left. A horde hit on the last day. What can I say? I didn't stand a chance. I checked my gun and saw a single bullet. I knew what to do. With my pistol to the sky, I fired my last shot. The world went black.

I think that if people are leaving the fort with no beer or church is to suicide since they want to die. The church is needed to deterr from suicide since it is forbidden :D

When you beat this your first time playing on hard mode without a problem, but the instant you try for harder difficulty you can't get halfway through!

haha i rember when tis hapend in rl i make frend wit all zomby and ten trow all zomby to my naybor who was scard haha and ten we got hodog from my moter and also from zombys moters it was best day

Yay! I managed to get all four endings in the same day, and it was the first time I played it! (Normal difficulty, btw)

I actually like the game and all, but I have no idea with what kind of strategy I could get the hard badge without depending entirely on luck. The game has so many rage-inducing mechanisms there, I have a hard time to keep on liking it.
