on the part where there are the green souls on top it shows how many but what is the bottom blank bar for? is it part of a future update or a concept you were going to add but didnt have time for?

I like it. People who have never worked the land or long periods of heavy labor cannot comprehend the satisfaction that is derived from this kind of work, at the end of the day you are tired but feel this subtle internal happiness akin to warm glowing embers.

One way to alleviate the issue of the town taking up too much space would be to convert the game world to 2D, rather than 1D. Could make the whole thing a fraction more interesting as well.

Why do plants and dog houses sprout up but the main building doesn't really get anymore build...Looking forwards to alot of updates when possible. This looks like it has alot of potential.

This game accidentally but accurately captures a socioeconomic phenomenon (law of diminishing marginal productivity/returns): as you have more workers, the efficiency of gathering resources initially increases but eventually decreases. With too many workers and houses (civilization & technology), gathering resources become harder and are left for a certain group of people (poor working class). Others stay home, play on Kongregate, or get rich with ads on Kongregate. xD

will the finished product have any sort of 'fail condition' or end point? I'm having fun as is but without a real 'goal' to work towards the fun won't last... I'm giving this 3/5 but from the sound of things the finished version will be 5/5 for sure

perhaps as speed is upgraded the people begin building vehicles, as life is upgraded the buildings improve to reflect the better quality of life, so on and so forth. good concept and with a bit more work it could be a great game. looking forward to seeing the complete game

I LOVE it! Very addicting! Can't wait until it's finished! :D Got all upgrades to level 50 lol. Now i'm spamming souls and my farm is freaking huge. Found another bug: Whenever your farm gets big and there isn't that much land the resources start spawning on one another and sort of flash. >_> Maybe you can make the code check to see if there's a resource there already... thanks for teh free game though! :D

People are starting to solve the multiple entries trick by voting 1 star for anything that isn't the final product. So please don't be dissuaded by my 1 star rating. I think you have a clever beginning here and look forward to the finished game, which I expect to rate rather highly.

Simple and fun.
When you make your updates I would add things like a resource guide and building guide.
So it can tell you what the resources are and what they are used for and the same for the buildings.

This game is good, but could become a great game. THough one thing that could help is when you scroll through the land, it's pretty slow. WHen the GiTD is over try and make the scroll speed faster. Oh and more buildings

i think its a little glitchy whilst playing on a laptop, i have about 10 souls which i cannot pick up and it says i am on 0, ok, thts all

If people are wandering in the middle, give them more sight. If the game is going slow for you, upgrade speed. And yes, life up is not really a good thing right now, will change later.
The odd flowers and trees make resources spawn MUCH faster, and are automatically built when your guys build up enough resources. It'll make more sense when the other buildings are put in--they'll make a small town but won't venture out and become happy until you upgrade their sight. Sight does not suck for an upgrade, don't be fooled.
A help system (more like a tooltip system, it'll use up all that unsightly blank space and will get rid of the ugly instructions screen I threw together) will tell you all of this once I can put it in.
TO SUMMARIZE: Hold on, guys, this game isn't complete. I used eight days to get it to this point so I could submit it for the GiTD contest, it'll take a month to actually bring to a finished state probably. I didn't really expect people to like this.

Seems to me that there's a bunch of useless people with levels 4-6 in the middle, doing nothing, walking back and forth.... I need a zapper tool to make them do something!

I think something that should be changed when you can is have limited amount of buildings so that the buildings don't cover half of a giant map and make it harder for workers to find materials and be happy. Maybe make it so that the buildings get upgraded when there are enough materials and you can choose what to upgrade, and the upgraded buildings could provide bonuses like increasing the starting level of workers and such.
