As soon as you build/buy 100 land, the mine is unlocked and the resource accumulation explodes. Max out the number of collecting souls and you'll start to see some real buildup.

Like everyone else, I'm really not sure what's going on. I get that I need resources to build things (maybe?), but I don't really have any control over building said structures, and I don't see them anywhere. I guess I don't have any indication of my individual resource stats? Then why differentiate between different types of resources at all? Why do my souls even level up at all, considering that I have no control over which ones are released? It seems like whenever I do upgrade one of the stats, I'm spending my highest-leveled souls on it. Are they all the same value when it comes to spending them? Why? If picking up those higher level upgrades on the 'map' is contingent upon a soul's level, wouldn't it be more important to be able to release the highest leveled souls first/at all? Or maybe I'm seeing it wrong... do all the souls start at level one when released, and they only level during their tiny lifespans? I don't think I've ever had so much confusion over a game so basic.

If you haven't noticed, this game, was created for a past Game in Ten Days contest, and this month we are celebrating our 50th. Props to Greg for the timing of running this Badge of the Day!

I would like to see a 'smite' or 'bomb' button which kills everyone. Just in case I want to quickly start over with a more religious/industrious population or something.

Without any control on what buildings are build, or even knowing when what building will be build this can hardly be called a game...

2 idle games over several years isn't exactly a trend. I'd much rather see idle games badged than all those crappy pseudo-MMOs that have even less gameplay than most idle games (aka "play" 5 mins, exhaust energy, wait xx hours to refill)

I love this game, but it would be nice to be able to spawn more than one at a time. once you get above so many souls even holding the spacebar takes waaaay too long...but i love it XD

I think I got it figured out. Hold space until you stop dropping people. Look at the number at the top left. If it is more than zero, click anywhere in the upgrade section. Wait for your people to die. Repeat.
