i feel like some medals are borderline impossible if you get bad spawning... particularly with explosive aliens, which leave damaging puddles blocking your progress for sometimes quite awhile. i was stuck on the labs mission for ages because explosive aliens just kept gooping up my way forwards. 3/5 for needless frustration.

Besides the unpredictability of aliens spawning that makes getting medals way more reliant on luck than it should be, I loved the game. The immersiveness is awesome, and the Invasion ambient piece by Claudio Pelissero is now one of my new favorites! Great job on paying attention to detail, especially the turn ending reminders that saves a lot of time from checking each unit.

I don´t get why your squadmates status displays on the lower left of the screen actually qualifies as a target for flame thrower attack if thats selected?? isn´t any point in targeting the teammates PERSONALLY with an area attack....
frustrating control bug, great game nonetheless, played it for hours and will..

I really love this game! Every part of it is done very well. My only criticism is the music. There's that one ridiculously metal soundtrack that just hurts my delicate lil' ears. Maybe have something to skip the current soundtrack?

So happy right now - Impossible badge earned. Took time, tactics, logic, patience, a few rage quits to come back with a clear view. One of the best games I've ever played, IMO the hardest badge on the site, forever mine. Could list everything that is great about this game, but simply cannot list one negative thing :) 5*'s

Really well made game.
There are like no bugs to speak of.
Story, plot, mission progression, reward point system, perfect mood music, hexagon battlefield system, alert mode - all combine to make this a classic.

the game doesnt really resonate with me unlike others... but i had so much fun blowing away like 7or 8 aliens as my boys sprinted into the elevators to GTFO of there. that movie-like starship troopers shi-- stuff. yeah, stuff... got me so fired up, i was all like, "FARRO!! GEET DAOWN!!! D:< *BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM*"

I've tried many of such games but this was the best. 5/5. Good ideas on alert system, ammo recharging and character development. Nice work!

I don't get it, what am I doing wrong? I beat mission 2 and 3 in the way they asked me to, but I'm still not getting the Ruby medal. What am I doing wrong?!

Thank you for this fantastic game! I'm totally into the Aliens feel, and the look and mechanic of the game brings me back to the good old games... Love this game!

I think maybe I want to take my four stars back on this, as I am pissed at level 9--at least 7 out of 8 times it's literally impossible to get a diamond rating on level 9. Taylor gets overwhelmed even with 80 rounds of ammo, or an exploding alien jumps into the entrance of an elevator before the guy gets a chance to do anything, or something. It's largely the luck of the draw on what aliens come out of where each time. Also, never stand just one hex from an air vent, even on alert status! Even two hexes is dicey, because an exploder might come out, unless two guys are on alert nearby. I'm still pissed at level 9.

So the graphics aren't as magnificent as in something like XenoSquad, but otherwise it's a very excellent game. I like how the troops have different kinds of missions, not just "kill all the aliens" or "make it through without dying." Also I like how one guy can give an extra clip of ammo to another guy. (That happened plenty during the standoff at the elevator at the end of level 11.) The game is intense, and I would often wait till the next day to do the next mission, in order to prepare. The developer really should have an undo option though, as one stupid mistake (like accidentally moving the wrong guy) can result in a mission being aborted. Also I'd like to see a review option, so you can watch the mission replayed afterwards. That would be cool!

Just skip this and go straight for Shadowrun Returns. It does it a HELL of a lot better and it's cheap. If you can't afford cheap, just download it. Either way, you'll get a better gaming experience than you'd ever find from a flash game. I love the idea of this game, truly. But being familiar with game development, if you really loved a game, you could do a lot better than this shoddy platform.

Engineer 1: I reviewed your schematics for the colony. What the ^%#$ are you doing placing the control panels all over the place!? The cost of this facility is going to skyrocket! Either your getting kickbacks from the contractor, or you're a xenomorph building a hellish dungeon to trap our employees!
Engineer 2: Yes! I'm getting paid by the contractor. That's what it is. ...Xenomorph! Hah! What's gotten into that brain of yours? That delicious, delicious brain.

A good combat system, AWESOME music and good replay value even having only a few types of enemies. Campaign on normal is just the right difficulty, but to get the challenges / diamond it gets a little "find the perfect moves", and this combined to the randomness of enemy type in spawns, gets pretty difficult. i also think the acid pools should remain only during the next player turn, it gets frustrating trying to get through a corridor when every turn new explosive / glue aliens pop up. At last, I don't understand the safe area next to an alien movement... I thought the green areas (which the explosive aliens don't have and I also don't know why) were safe, but I once or twice got attacked being in them, so I think this whole thing should me better explained. Overall, 5/5

Other games like this one: Gorky 17 (aka Odium), XCOM, Dofus, Final Fantasy Tactics, Fallout Tactics, Magic: The Gathering Tactics. Here on Kong there are a few like XenoSquad, Flagstaff and King's Bounty: Legions. enjoy :)

This might be the best flash game I've played. Some improvements I can think of: 1) A cancel unit selection command 2) The hexagon grids are hard to see at times. They should be easily visible all the time all over the map. 3) Soundtrack shouldn't be so good. It's addictive :P
