I think most gold miners, instead of spending a few hundred thousand dollars to upgrade their trucks, just buy more trucks.

Ad in paper: Great new town with lots of opportunities! Gold a plenty. Incidents of houses being detonated greatly exaggerated.

the trees and bushes represent wooded areas....obviously a bush isn't going to be bigger than the town hall building. and building obviously have roads near them and need an amount of space bigger than the building. this explains the truck's movement. you can drive on a road but not through heavily wooded areas. BOOYAH!

Sigh... It takes forever to get "Growth Spurt" badge, I have done everything in the game and I'm still missing a 1000 population for the badge...

Huge tip. Once you buy surveying ability; before you buy explosives, click build town. Now you can look around the entire area, but what helps is that the sign saying "Gold", telling you where the most amount of gold is, will already be there. Once you scroll around some to find it, you now know where the most gold is, and you can buy explosives and move your drop zone accordingly. It will save and make so much to have your drop zone in the area where the sign is. It's also worth it to build a single drop spot by the sign. Not only will the hotspot pay for it, but it stays there for other times you're near there.

Interesting Game. 1. Need to be able to see area each building covers by hover or click after placement. 2. Stop placing Gold Mine signs under buildings. 3. Show all depleted spots. 4. "Try to put different buildings close together for best effect" is misleading. They need to be spaced out for population to occur.

"What's that ringing in my ears? I thought church was out for the day." "It's just the nuclear bombs going off in the town, dear, don't mind them."

Surveyor: There is a big gold deposit here
Miner: But there is a family living there I can't get to it
Surveyor: But dude there is a BIG gold deposit there
Shop keeper: Dude he said a BIG gold deposit here take these mini nukes
Miner: Ummm Ok *blows up house* OH HEY LOOK A LOT OF GOLD!!!!
Family: A**Hole

On day 2, when I noticed that gold price fluctuates, I immediately fired up a new Excel sheet on my second monitor and began tracking max, min, avg, and 75th percentile gold prices. Any game that encourages the use of external data analysis gets a bonus star from this geek.

Very good game, but at the same time boring. At the end I'm sitting with hundreds of thousands of cash, and left wondering when the game ends. You've gotta tweak the slope, and let the player know where he/she stands.

Oh look! Diamond as big as my wife is right up front behind the tree there. I just have to go out of my truck to collect it... ... ... Nah! Trees are to scary.

This is the least complaining town I've ever seen, especially considering the fact that explosives are being set off all around them.

would be awesome if you could choose to place markers, or if it placed markers automatically on places where you get awesome excellent or great ratings.

Bleh. Was interesting, until I maxxed out every mining option, but only a quarter of the way to population goal. Either needs more interesting/noticeable interactions among the buildings, or needs to gain population MUCH faster. Not worth the grind.

Maybe instead of have a speed up button, you could have an option to choose whether I want to detonate all bombs at same time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really like the concept, and it's fun, but there's absolutely no strategy to this. Just throw bombs on the good spot, gold flies out, pick it up, buy things. Needs to me more complicated and definitely more challenging. Very easy.

Instead of buying 15 nukes to mine for a day, why can't I use 1 nuke to make the shanty town people mine for me for a lifetime?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Aww too bad son. You seemed to not get any gold that last blast but at least you got a fist-sized diamond. Better luck next time. lol
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I can be wrong, but isn't an open goldmine started by first *CUTTING* down the trees (and selling them) instead of blowing up and driving around them all time?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hint to new players: You can mine areas that are within the drop zone, and the ore is picked up automatically. No need for the truck. VERY useful before the fuel upgrades.

It would be nice to have a flagging/marker system to identify the gold-rich locations as you discover them. This way you can return to mine it dry a few days later without having to rediscover them with the tiny bombs.

Great game but I have 3 complaints, first there should be away to get back the gold that left the game screen, second we should be able to upgrade our buildings to make them better and third... Please put a speed up button when mining the gold!

I enjoyed this game and it kept me entertained for a while but then it started to get dull. Here are some suggestions for further development: --- Instead of having multiple plots, have one. Allow numerous upgrades to this plot, expansion being the big one I'm thinking of here. ---Give the vault an interest rate of something minute, it could even be 2%, but something to make it worth keeping gold there, even though the price of gold changed I made money every day regardless, the vault seemed useless. More upgrades could add complexity and more challenge. Start the town with a little more popularity and show us what it's at. I would have loved to have know what the town popularity and it's growth rate were at numerous times while playing. Charge people to demolish a building, you could do something simple like 10% of the cost. I appreciate the work put into the development of this game, but I do not feel it is quite finished.

Are you supposed to blow up the residents of your town and steal their gold? I started blowing up trees and rocks, then got bored and blew up some houses. The gold from the houses was probably 10 times the gold from everything else. I think I'm playing this wrong.

i like it but it gets boring fast. isn't must that makes you keep coming back. good idea though. hope you can make it better

Create an "Ore locator" not just a lame flag for where gold is... create a map add on... green for gold, red for bad areas.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i make thousand of dollars with gold but i cant afford to get rid of some freaking trees... or am i bombing in a protected area? :P
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Lol I like the tip that says "You can blow up parts of the town, the people will understand" I care more about gold then their lives XD
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really liked this game. Original precept. What I would like to see most is a way to track how much gold was produced out of a spot. I am reasonably sure that I lost a lot of potential income based on forgetting which squares produced gold (in addition to the best one).

I thought those little camps were piles of waste, so I blew them up, without realizing that they were my population..
