If you max out Alice Jeezebel (the hero that turns enemy corpses into skeletons and skeleton archers), her Resurrect area is HUGE and can rez lots of enemies at once. If you max out your skeletons and skeleton archers (which is cheap to do), you can have a free, infinite army of powerful skeletons. Not that anyone will see this after the next 5 comments :P

Targeting AI; they seem to prefer attacking defenseless buildings until they get smashed by the good guys, could it be modified to target things that are hurting them? Sorry for the double comment, i forgot to add it.

Soldier: "Sir, what is our battle strategy?"
Commander: "I want everyone, civilians included, to run around in random directions"
Soldier: "But sir..."
Commander: "I said run in random directions."

It's kind of annoying that their hero shouts "Can't anyone DO something?" as he slaughters my army without getting visibly damaged... That bastard mocks me!

Although I found this game to be terribly addicting and fun, I am a bit miffed at the fact that the so-called "civilians" are always rushing directly towards the portal. This makes it difficult for my units to take down valuable targets, because the townies are always getting in the way. I end up having to manually select every military target to make any headway. It would be much simpler if the civilians stayed near the towns and cities until I move to strike at them directly. If you're looking to add to the difficulty, then just make it so that they don't run in random directions until AFTER you've attacked the town, itself.

Their building are being burned by giant balls of fire,
The undead walk again and kill every living person,
They see their heroes falling and being converted to undead,
Yet they do not leave their village area. Now, that's what I call patriotism.

It's better to leave Zombies at level 9 rather than upgrading them to level 10. Level 10 gives no stat bonuses, but it makes them cost 10 mana more.
There's also a lot of little quirks I'm noticing where a unit will gain in one stat, then lose that gain in the next level, and it will then shoot back up significantly a bit later in the level chart. I suspect there were some typos when the data was getting entered.

Let me get this straight, so a giant meteor falling from the sky doesn't even set a house on fire. Yeah, seems legit.

same creator of infector/world domination etc. not a rip off, not stolen, not whatever people who do not have the attention span to at least click on the designer's name link would dare call it =)

A tip or two for success; buy most of or all the "passive" upgrades. Then, max out Skeleton Archers, they have incredible range and are cheap to make. Next buy special units, and spend money on maxing them out too. If this is done, then put a little money into portal defense. On the battlefield, create one or two special units, (Berserk, Knight etc.) and then create as many Skeleton Archers as you can. Don't activate "Auto" movement; the consequence is your units run around and get themselves killed. With "Auto" off, your troops will stay in the general vicinity of your portal, and efficiently wipe out any or all soldiers coming your way. If done exactly as described, your portal will remain guarded and the opposing army will be reduced to body parts in no time. Works like a charm.

Buy zombies as soon as you can, it's the best way to stay alive in the beginning, and if you get them level 9 and get a good level upkeep it's just as effective as the Alice Jeezebel + skeles tactic.

the sentence never finishes...the civilians say "don't kill me, kill my." it never says what he wants you to kill....i guess that's why i killed him...lol

General: "Alright zombies, now I want you to attack whatever is attacking you, got it?" Zombies: "Got it." *They go out pillaging* Zombies: "AHHHH It's a brick house! Kill it!" They all die by one soldier...

I found a creepy way to get a diablo automaticly at the start of the battle. Right when it says your army died you send out a diablos. Next game you start he will be there, and you got him for free!

Max out skeleton warrior and skeleton archers then max out mana increase,
mana regeneration, and up keep increase. ZERG RUSH

I'm glad the townspeople aren't intelligent enough to realize that they should be destroying the portal first. I find that Zombies are also a good asset but only for the earlier levels, where there are many citizens.

Just beat the last level: As recommended by Zandera, I maxed Alice Jeezebel (Banshee) and the skel warriors & archers (also mana, regen, portal def) and unlocked Diablo spell. At the start of the round, quickly build up your units. When the enemy heroes spawn, use Diablo to keep them occupied. Enemy AI is such that they would like to kill Diablo first for some reason. Just keep spamming units and protect the portal. When Diablo dies, spawn him again. Once the enemy heroes are dead, you're home free. Good luck!

Great improvement on an already great game. Though, it could use hotkeys for spells and definitely deselect unit buttons.
