@arekkuso: thats cool, everyone of us enjoy the game in diferent ways. at the time of my previous post i could hardly fight vs chaos mages, and now i beat the whole dungeon with ease getting about 40k per go. I agree with you that food is not particulary necesary to beat the game, and fairly expensive to get the skill high enough. But i am crazy enough to enjoy it :), and you cant be wrong with raising your health/mana either. Cheers fellow player~

Well, I saw this game through to the end and for something that's as simple as one-on-one combat, I was engaged enough to keep leveling up my character to see how far he'll get. He's a total champion of the ascended now. It might take some grinding and is somewhat repetitive, but this is a very complex system you set up with some interesting quirks. I can't wait to see how Chapter 2 goes. 5/5

@aghloe - I can say for most of the players, money is easy because they sit around in the mystery dungeon, which is pretty easy. I've been making my money through my old favorite, the merchant. I go through whatever until my inventory is full, store the potions, and then sell everything else(I've got pretty cool items, so I hardly ever switch out.) My strategy leaves me poor, unlike you, and makes the game much more challenging. It's all a game for me. I take the hardest route possible just because I know I will get bored before I beat the game, and never beat it because of that. I understand most here are probably thinking I am crazy, and will likely down vote this, but it's my personal opinion.

Advice: 1) be a mage, it makes for an easy endgame. Due to Strategies of Timald and multiple oils of enhancement (see the wiki for recipes). You do need to get blacksmithing, alchemy, and artistry all up to 1k. 2) Don't go below 250 gold when buying things except at the start. Use that money to go to the dungeon of mystery, clearing a few floors gets you more than your money's worth back and might net you a few artifacts too. I generally get 10k on a bad run there.

@arekkuso: well, based on your efficiency each resource may costs from 4gp up to 45gp, (40 to 450 if rare) which i consider fairly cheap since you can easely get way over 10k in a dungeon of mystery

@arekkuso thank you for answering. I haven't found the boost food yet, but other than that finding food seems useless
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@SkeleBrothers - The food is for crafting other foods items that can be used to 1.) change the color of your hair, armor, weapon, etc.
2.) I'm pretty sure there are two foods that can a.)boost your health. b.) boost your mana... Past that, food really has no real use. Plus, the cooking is expensive as crap.

@NathanMouse - Well, the prologue (Where you choose responses) is to pick your stats, starting equipment, and other things like that. The unbeatable battle that follows is a tutorial on how to fight. As for the other part, I have no idea. That's happened to me as well.

Some minor gripes: 1) The "hopeless boss fight" at the start and the multiple-choice paths leading up to it seem pointless; why ask the player about what equipment he packed if you're going to rob him of all of it faster than it took to select? 2) Unusable crafting recipes. I wasted thousands of gold pieces on alchemy handbooks only to learn that the recipe for crafting the potions to raise my max mana were still worthless; what's the point of saying "this is how you make something" when max skill still means 100% failure?

Hah, I finally figured it out, that final dungeon where you enter the time rift to battle Fak'Ough, it reminds me of the temple of chaos from Final fantasy 1. Wonder if that was intentional

Kinda bites that even with endgame armor (including stuff from the very bottom level of the 'endless' cave), maxed-out Mysticism which allows for +20 protection and all 20 points of it put to use, I'm still 52/60 of the protection needed to earn that achievement. And it doesn't seem to count potions of protection even though it says you only need 60 "at any one time".

Soooooo... Anyone else notice the swastika? It's on the second floor of the dungeon you do after collecting the four shards.

lol...i am an archer too but other than having lil good bows until the end, i have no complains. simply because u chose archery at the start dun mean you have to stick with it, though i did...but u can use those swords first too

Hit knight with (simple bow) bow and arrow heavy attack 15 dmg, hit archer with bow and arrow heavy attack 15 damage, hit mage with bow and arrow heavy attack: 3 rounds of 1-3 dmg and then 10 dmg at most. The mages should be the most squishy since they can hit me for 25 dmg for some hits, instead, I fear them.

and how about some better equipment for archers? it took me the whole game until i found a better bow than the one in the store. but yet i have sooo many better swords than the one i have now...

these defence quests are sooooooo bullshit if your only good being an archer. seriously, y cant an archer shoot straight?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
and to add to my last comment, it doesnt help that im an archer so if i dont hit them, its not like i can stand in front of them to block them
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i never got a hit on the guardian thing in the defense quests. i beat every single side quest. this game went from a five star to a 2. cause i think it is completely bullshit that i cant even hit anyone.

To anyone who was offended by my comment about "its" vs "it's", insulted me, and the walked away from our conversation: It would be difficult for you to change my mind about whether my statements were correct. Yes, I was a jerk for pointing out a fairly common punctuation error. You might have been trying to point out that I was being a jerk, but what I also saw was that you tried to state that I was incorrect in my claim that "it's" is an acceptable spelling for "its". I continued trying to teach you that "its" is used for "belonging to it" and "it's" is used for "it is" or "it has". It was wrong of me to be so rude in my initial post. I usually try to love and tolerate as much as I can. Please try to love, tolerate, and refrain from insults. Thank you.

the king sets you out to do battle... and someone asks," what is your name"
and you accidentally reset the browser.... and load the saved game

Fun game but completed every quest but only got a hand full of recopies. Defense was cake with a mage, no reason to do other than main quests that require it. Crafting was pointless and some items even say the recipe isn't valid. Whole game I think I got 6 recopies. wth. Nice having a home, just wish it did more(or anything besides hide the crafting button).

Defending in battle gives you no def or hit bonus, why would anyone waste a turn like...owww!!! Skill Gain, def, def, def, def, def, def, def, def, def
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Bug: protection listed as bonus, i.e. below the main line, of armor and other items, doesn't seem to add to total. I'm in the Rift and haven't gotten the 60 armor achievement.
