Yay I won, it was so hard, so much grinding, so much time spent trying to make friends and to get a lot of the traits...but totally worth it....ok where is Protector 5 and its achievements? (and yes I am aware of 4.5, working on it next)

Think long and hard before buying the Investor scroll. It will take 400 quests to recover your investment. (Of course, completists will want it anyway... ;)

The only thing I hated about this game is that it ended. This game was so fantastic that when it ended (That is, when I had all the badges) I felt like playing it all over again. I wish Kong could give certain games, like this one, MORE than 4 badges. Like ten maybe, so I would be forced to replay this entire game somehow. Loved it. =)

I know it's not a new game at this point, but there needs to be a way to command your units to prefer specific targets. It's irritating to have the units I've placed to guard one of two paths turn their backs on that path and attack units at the extremity of their range, while the units they're supposed to be taking down walk by them and move on to the exit.

So uh, I hate to ask what is probably a stupid question which has probably been answered before, but what does steal chance do? From the talents that say things like "Stolen over 500 gold" for the completion requirement, I would assume that they have to do with getting you extra gold, but I can't figure out how they go about doing that.

Augh I sooooo want to beat this game but my computer keeps erasing all my data every once in a while... But I'll try again... Oh and on your next game you make, keep a format like this one, its great.

Like this game alot. Tough but not so tough as to make you lose interest. I had a little trouble understanding some of the more esoteric aspects of it at first, but can see I'll be spending a lot of time on this. lol, speaking of which.... love the "time wasted" :)

I have a question. Without being sarcastic, could someone advise me on how to unlock the scrolls required to gain the talents such as "Venomous Grasp" and "Unholy Aura"? I wouldn't usually ask a question like this however I've tried virtually everything I can think of.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

TIP: One strong elemental/magic use hero, element switch items(just against absorb stages) and it's like sandbox mode.

@Lynx, items are not supposed to permanently change a heroes base element, Only temporarily while you have the item on. THe bug is that it is reverting a scroll change back to the characters original element. As for Melee Units, why ever use them unless they have a fair interaction?

@chrisrulz the lower the number for "speed" means the lower the amount of time it takes for the unit to swing/shoot again

Weird glitch! If you rename a hero, there's a chance that same hero will show up again at your base. Whatever programming is supposed to prevent cloned heroes check only for names, not some other ID.

Great game, kept me up for hours, only thing I have to complain about it the fact that the majority of the enemies are flying meaning it's too hard to use any good fighters so I have to use alchemists.

Regardless of my cheap strategy, still love it! I replay all these game trying to only use or focus one type. Thanks Undefined, you ass holes, you ruined all other tower defense/strategy rpg element games for me!

Excellent game. some times there is a bug with memory swiping items and also I have had where I use a basic unit change item and instead it changed the advanced unit on me. Anyway I wanted to put this in the comments - that I would like to see in the next game a larger variety of offered quest on the side and varying difficulties in those quest. Also, I find that after I boost my tactics and leadership to around 10 on a hero, there is really not much need of the other things like sword play and such unless the type of unit is weak. Again, excellent game though.

Really cool game!! Had hours of fun with it :) The Mixture of Tower-Defense and RPG elements is great. Unfortunately, it is WAY to easy, with no way to change the difficulty.i finished it a second time, with only using 1 hero and only using Trainees and Archwizards.
btw: is there a place where i could post an attachment? I made a complete list of all units with all their abilities.i would like to share^^ And my list of possible improvements is also way to long to post it here.

I agree with braktheitalian, its just too easy to go through the game with only magical or ranged units. Maybe this could be included in game 5???

I have to say, this is such a great game. The only thing I have to complain about is that you can't tell your units what to target. If they had an interface where you highlight where they can attack would be awesome. Also one to tell them to target strongest or if they are debuffing people who aren't debuffed yet and stuff like that. I think you already did that in a later game, though.

consecration is useful in the Treasure Hunt quest, as it deals more damage to enemies with str of the unit's element. On a side note, notice how some maps come from protector 3?

How do you get the Pot O'Gold and Sneak Thief talent? I looted a lot of items and completed quests where I got over 50gp yet didn't get these talents. What's wrong?

Ye know, after playin' every Protector over the last week, I just notice how I still think protector 1 as the best. Nr, 2 are the evil son-of-a-bitch hard Protector that goes 2nd place. Although I love the new units, customizable heroes and such, I find nr 4 too easy. That capped alot of the fun in this game. So I have to say this is on last place, shared with Protector 3. (Still 5/5 and fav)

The "ultimate protector" is still Protector Reclaiming the Throne for me.
This one, like the previous one, is good for the added RPG elements but they make the gamer so easy there is no challenge (or are there some difficult missions at some point ? for the moment after 25 quests or so I haven't found one, most results are perfect in one try).

One thing I would like to see is a level creator/editor.The storyline and other quests are fun,but kind of railroad.Another nice idea would be a hero editor.And an item editor and enemy editor. Otherwise, great job!5/5 Favorited.

It should be made so that you can't re-buy a talent scroll, I'm not sure which ones I've used and which ones I haven't.

Is there a way to shortcut-key when you upgrade? Clicking on each guy every few seconds, then clicking within that window to get to the upgrade window, then selecting mostly the same upgrades gets boring. Some kind of keypress when you click on a character to auto-upgrade would be great (if there isn't such a thing).
