So many popups... argh... i wish the character upgrade screens would automatically close (when doing quests) when you click outside of them. Having to click the X is not userfriendly and also why does the game not progress until i close the upgrade windows? And the wave info popup that you also have to close is annoying too and should only be optional shown.

Same game mechanic flaw as in all the protector games: when you hire a new unit in the late part of the mission, it doesn't do anything, and the current units aren't enough to tackle the monsters but they also take too long to level up, so you end up with a pile of useless cash. Hard to believe this awful mechanic made it through for the 4th time and is basically the reason nobody makes TD games with it: it SUCKS.

Take careful note of the scouting reports, and pay attention to the elemental strengths and weaknesses. There is a HUGE difference between the damage you deal against an element that you're strong against versus one you're weak against.

this game is pretty bad and dull...the balancing for the characters for the most part is good tho. only reason why i see people liking this game so much. that and its cheesy commentary.

I gave this game a high rating because it is very fun but whomever designed the maps so that you can never place units in a strategic spot without spending 50 gold needs to be lined up in front of a firing squad and shot.

Save game does not work for me, but since there are no comments on that, I assume it has something to do with my settings / other stuff. I'm guessnig it's saving off-line content on the computer, and saveslots are stored browser data.
Can anyone confirm or explain why they don't work if I restart browser?

almost the fourth anniversary of protector 4 is here, and I think I speak for most people when I say this is one of the best games Kongregate has to offer.

You know, for years I keep coming back to this game. Protector is probably my all time favorite flash game. You did a fantastic job and thank you so much for making this game.

Get a hero with the Protectorate's ranged units (patroler and defender) ASAP and use that hero only for the rest of the game. Put all level ups towards ranged for both you and the hero. Those are OP due to consecrate, which negates any weakness your element has to any mobs.

Great game, always fun to play. Can't help to wonder who hired the enemy general tho.

At one point item management gets really time consuming and uncomfortable. If there was perhaps a sort button by item stats it would help a lot.

So I'm not a very good mercenary... I fail at most of my quests that aren't storyline. The only reason I can figure that people keep hiring me is that my agency's name is CannonFodder Mercenaries, Inc.

I've completed the game, but there are three talent scrolls I don't have... that aren't in the shops. Woodsman, Craftsman, and Plains Walker. Are these only loot/drop on quests, or do I need to get better faction relations to have them available, or something?

2 hours back in and I remembered why I got carpal tunnel syndrome back in 2010. I just healed. Man.. Great game though :)
