Why are so many enemies weak to fire? Why is the Chiv Dexer called Paladin in the protectopedia? Why does Ridley randomly appear as the background behind levels? Too big to place in the game?

I remember the first time I played this game it was fantastic and strategic. Now coming back to it years later to find they removed the Wave Preview bar makes it an absolutely terrible game. Later levels especially it is literally impossible to plan ahead for monsters that are flying or absorption because you CANT TELL when they are coming until the wave before. This turns it from a great, strategic game of planning out how you are going to build and upgrade throughout the level to just a stupid 'build and see what comes, then go back and try again'. Such a shame.

"The perversity of the universe tends towards a maximum."
...
The universe is hostile.
FIVE STARS just for having half of the 2 most important rules quoted in your game. Well done.

@thealtor: Um, can you fix your grammar and spelling? It's somewhat hard to figure out what you are asking when your grammar doesn't make sense and you spell words wrong.

"Sir, what are your orders?" "Just stand in one spot and attack the oncoming enemies." "But sir, what if the enemies were to...move away from us?" "Stand in one spot. I'm sorry private did I stutter?" "Uh...no sir...I'll just stand here and attack enemies who come close to me then..."

Besides minor nuisances like no speed-up button, this game suffers from being very badly thought through (despite all the boasts about deep strategy). Numerous options like specialist levels on Dexers are mathematically just inferior and never, ever worthwhile. Even potentially cool towers like Necros are often similarly worthless for their price when one actually crunches the numbers. The result is that nearly every level is best approached with a mindless swarm of low-level generalist mages of mixed colors with 1-2 specialists per color at the entrance.

HTCxRepeat is right. There are more games in the protector series that are more expansive and have fast forward buttons. The developer did listen to people and added this feature To The Next Games.

I love how people are still complaining about there not being a fast-forward button. I hope you know that there are at least 4 more much better games in the Protector series, probably more, I forgot.

I really like the game but even after trying the lag fix suggested by Antwan2, still had issues. I would have ranked the gamer higher except for the lags. Fortunately got BOD before lag became terrible.

To everybody that's dealing with lagging issues, there is an easy fix. Right click on the game, pick settings, and allow chat.kongregate.com into your local storage. For some reason, this fixes it right up.

Absolutely boring. Kinda kills the strategy aspect from choosing the upgrades, when you have no idea what "special" means.
