Did you remove the custom map feature, or does it have to be unlocked? The map editor was one of the most exciting things about Defender.

You really disappointed me...I though it was going to be something different but when I started playing this it was just like Defender with alot of the UO creatures but poorly colored and redone and the map looks just the same like defender...And the name...Defender/Protector? I dunno man I was really upset.

Again, making tough enemies with absorb thats useful in 90% of the rest of the level is just cruel. Zero damage is fine, absorb is way over-powered. In a level where I have three types of towers powered up nicely and evenly distributed, and its absorbing from TWO KINDS, and auto-repeats, I'm totally dead. That's poor game design or sadism. Probably both. Having a 'don't attack this round' button would be fine. And 'oh look, you're dead because you picked the wrong towers for the very last enemy' is NOT tactics or strategy.

Btw, yes, it's a tower defense game. That's a genre now. Accept it and don't use it to rate the game down. "OH Fancy pants is great..but it's just another platformer." etc.

Not being able to sell units sucks. "It makes the game easy" is no excuse for not including it. I got to wave 40/40 at the end of a marathon run and I lost. Why? Because the boss has regen and absorbs lightning. Now, I only had like 4-5 Purple Wizards and up until then they'd been serving me well and were NOT, of course, "poorly placed".
And the only reason I was out of lives BEFORE the boss came is because some flying skulls came along that seemed to absorb EVERYTHING.
Absorb sucks. Not being able to sell units sucks.

I've spent about 40 minutes so far playing and I must say, this game is absolutely amazing and is a great game for anyone who enjoys strategy with a bit of role-playing elements thrown into the mix.
I also really enjoy the stats tracked. It all most makes you feel like you're wasting your time for a reason.
At the moment my best score is 16,421, my gold spent is 3,160, my maps won are three, my total kills are 1,140, my tiles paved are five, my levels gained are 73, and my men hired are 38.
Does anyone else wish to share their stats?

The absorb skill on the enemies is absolutely retarded. Having to play something over several times simply to know the order to deploy isn't exactly interesting strategy, just repetitive annoyance.

A very nice twist on tower defense game, but at the end of the day it is still just another tower defense game.

Great game, It seems like you could make the easy levels a tad bit harder. also, I found myself with lots of people ready to upgrade, but not enough cash, maybe you could make it so defenders need less money to upgrade and more experience

Insaniac: use the SPACE BAR /omg --- ypsksfgos: NO SELL there is a why it adds to the strategy and this isnt an easy game. Its in deep so the pedia is there for you to learn --- Jacen, you are stupid learn to build, read the pedia/tutorial.

Absorb can be a major game killer.... I went from 25 lives to zero on an easy marathon (level frikking 30-ish) thanks to a flying absorb that gained about half their hit points from two fire mages with +10% at legendary. NOT fun, NOT balanced, and it sure wasn't the type of mistake you can plan around. Strongly recommend fix.

ohh forgot one thing a basic description in game of what each unit would be nice so i don't have to go to the "protectopedia" and end my game to see if something will help me

This game is thoroughly flawed, if you accidentally select to add a new unit when all unit spaces are filled, you've effectively fucked yourself because you can't put it back it stays in your hand and you can't make new spaces or level up your guys, you're stuck holding that guy.

This is simply an excellent game, very in deep strategy is involved and I love it. Thanks for this SEQUEL to defender. Now ·$%$%& retards, dumbs and stupid ppl that say this is a ripoff, ITS THE SAME DEVELOPER dorks.

This game took (most) all of the flaws of defender and made them disappear, added a nice skill system, more maps, and a better instruction book.
5 stars. You may just get game of the week on Cocak.net.

Great game; I enjoyed Defender a little bit, but this TD is even better, a huge improvement over Defender. I would daresay its one of the top 5 tds on this site.

Some great improvements here, and I love how all the various missions are intertwined through the skill system. Might want to include in the comments that you are the creator of Defender so people don't keep erroneously voting you down for "ripping off" your own prequel to Protector.

If you’re having lag issues, try playing in an alternate browser (IE/Firefox) this seems to solve it. I’m working on tracking down exactly why it happens.

I like this a little better than Defender too, but the lag is so bad it'll keep me from playing it again. My PC isn't exactly lightning-quick, but it doesn't hang on other games like this.
