Under rating threshold (show) An amazing game. The controls (I used mouse) are great. The defensive/offensive radial power is a fun way to wipe out clusters of enemies and a great saver if I get surrounded. Near the end of the game it becomes mandatory to use it every few seconds. And of course everyone likes buying upgrades. But I had bought every item by level 10. I really like the high level of difficulty, but between ship bullets, dead ships warping in and out, my bullets and money that I am trying to collect it can become impossible to see what is going on. I would have to use a

there will definitely be a v3 at some point, but not for a little while 'cuz it took a lot out of me making this one and I need to do something different for a while just to recharge my enthusiasm.

Under rating threshold (show) 4/5 A good top down shooter. But the visibility makes the gameplay change in later levels from skilled to just having luck. Impossible to get through the game without getting frustrated in the end.

that seems to be way it works with most flash shooters...when I first started playing flash games I thought it was odd too, but now I'm used to it and I can see the sense in it.....anyway your score drops to zero, so if you keep losing all your lives you're never gonna get a highscore

Under rating threshold (show) Just a suggestion: possibly reset lives upon stage completion. Going into a new stage with extra lives is one thing, but getting through one by the skin of your teeth then having to reload/force a game over before making a serious attempt on the next is a little annoying.

I'm just gonna repeat what I said to yaykitties here... it's actually tracing bullet paths into the bitmap graphics for collision purposes: take a look at how your bullets hit the bosses right on their pixels instead of any surrounding hit-box. The same technique is used for all collisions. I don't wanna blow my own trumpet (but I will anyway), the collision detection in this game isn't perfect but it's a _lot_ more accurate than in nearly all other flash shooters.

Under rating threshold (show) Gets too hard to dodge bullets with a rain of pickups and explosions at the same time. I'm fully upgraded at level 9, due to having to grind for money just to survive, but level 9 boss was easier than just getting to him! The visibility is the biggest issue right now. Perhaps, as a suggestion for your next game, the player could just earn money from kills with the occasional pickup instead of having to collect all of his money from a rain of coins.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game like has been said before visibility can get pretty bad. Easiest way to fix would probably be fx options, but it might be kind of cool to have the repulsor have the 'passive' function of pushing away smoke from the ship with the range and speed of smoke movement being determined by how upgraded your repulsor is and how close you are to the smoke. It looks really cool so it would be a shame to get rid of it too much.

hey thats cool! the repulser pushing smoke idea could be a winner, 'cuz like you say it would be a shame to remove too much of the chaos fx, but you do need to be able to clear space just so you can see whats going on - okay I'll put that into my next version todo list, I'm not making any promises, but I'll definitely have a go at it.

level 2 - I'm aware of the innuendo, although it wasn't intentional at first...I left it in 'cuz what the hell, all the level names are supposed to be a bit of a joke anyway. I would have liked to include armor upgrades and I might include them in a threequel - I didn't this time around 'cuz I'd like the ship gfx to change to reflect the new armor level and I couldn't find the time to design multiple ship sprites.

Under rating threshold (show) The game is beautiful, but there are a couple of fatal flaws in the graphics and gameplay around the beauty... Getting an achievement, trophy, or bonus of any kind can kill you outright because you can no longer see your ship, any upgrades around you, where the enemies are (if you could see them between blur effects and explosion blur effects in the first place) and enemy bullets. Create a separate space for these bonuses and remove blur, please. Beyond that... reliance on some levels for a shield at an appropriate time just feels wrong, as does the power of the shield in general. Dying should grant 1-2 seconds of invulnerability (I managed to lose 8 lives in 2 seconds the one time I lost).

Under rating threshold (show) Was fun for a small amount of time and I love upgrades but I just couldn't get into it because there was such a lack of variety in upgrades. 1 bullet -> big bullet -> bigger bullet, for all 8 guns. I'd prefer a choice for things like homing, double bullets, rapid bullets. These are not unique enhancements, but i think they are the start of what this game could've been.

yeah it could really do with some more upgrade and weapon variety. I was bogged down with getting basic stuff to work on this one, so I released it as it was before my enthusiasm wore off entirely! Next time I should be able to focus a bit more on those little extras.

ha ha - very funny: no seriously the text-sprites where a source of constant worry for me 'cuz on the one hand they can be annoying and distracting, while on the other hand they provide feedback that you're actually achieving something.... I may tone them down a little next time as part of my general drive to increase visibility
