Under rating threshold (show) Warping out effectively reduces your survival mission time.

Under rating threshold (show) Like chilese said... You cannot 'beat' survival mode. Rigging your setup to warp out once survival mode has been activated is quite simple, but does not constitute 'beating' survival mode. This is why your point total does not reflect this

Under rating threshold (show) It took me 53 minutes but I finally defeated 18/10 :) Start in the middle, you can just secure it before it gets swamped. With a relay you can cross over to the right if you have a second mortar, which gives you some breathing space. Add a few reactors and you're good to go. Could do it faster now I think. But... 19/10 is here :)

Under rating threshold (show) Barely managed to get a foothold in the center while also getting SAMs ready, now I'm past the second Spore attack with the center island conquered, time to save up then try to hurt the northern sea.

Under rating threshold (show) Conclusion: Bad idea, because I can't get enough power there to take back the sea without reactors. Let's try the right instead.

Under rating threshold (show) Whelp, 10/18 will require me to move Odin City for Mortar-only. Let's try moving to the left so I still got a lot of fighting to do. :)

Under rating threshold (show) Chilese: Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot as this was something I did quite time ago and didn't think to save it - I wish I had! Yes, we do seem to have different ideas about winning. What I do remember was that I beat the level (warping out) normally first, then went back to try again, to see how long I could last in survival mode. Whether it was the type of map that worked well for this, I don't know, but I found that I could hold out against the creeper for quite some time. I got bored and tried to see how long I would last if I tried to edge forward and connect the totems. I surprised myself by actually managing it. At the end of the day, each of us have different ideas about how we want to play a level and how we consider it won. Each to their own.

Under rating threshold (show) Perhaps you could post a picture of your "winning" screen. If it involves you leaving the screen by activating the totems, then we are talking about 2 different definitions of winning.

Under rating threshold (show) I've beaten 2 different maps on survival. It's more than possible. Not survival from the BEGINNING, but once you have a decent setup you can do it easy.

Under rating threshold (show) damsel1: It appears we are writing about 2 different events. Most of us consider warping out as NOT beating the game in survival mode. One can warp out of any puzzle after survival mode starts. The NOT POSSIBLE aspect is staying in the game in survival mode indefinitely. If you can stay in the game in survival mode long enough, you will see that your energy has an upper limit while the creeper keeps getting stronger. Most people post a final time when they die in survival mode after a long and ultimately brutal death.

Under rating threshold (show) How I beat it in survival was to play the game normally first, building up my network (taking over most of the map but not connecting the 3 totems) and adding extra mortars and blasters, with backup from plenty of drones. I also built lots of reactors and storage (you will need lots of energy). Once everything was in place and the storage full, I switched to survival mode. It certainly isn't easy to fight the creeper back, it took me a long time to inch my way forward but I was able to contain the creeper close to the emitters and connect up the totems to warp out. I doubt it can be done from starting in survival as the creeper advances too fast. It probably depends on the map too. If you're looking for a challenge, this is definitely it but be prepared to have a long fight on your hands.

Under rating threshold (show) You can beat the game on survival - it's not easy and you must have your network well set up, with plenty of weaponry and stored energy (plus plenty of time to work at it) but it CAN be done.

Under rating threshold (show) You can NOT beat the game on survival. You last as long as you can. Your energy outflow is capped, the creeper output is not.

Under rating threshold (show) Thanks @Chilese. I'll look into it. And @MichaelChandra: you can avoid the energy problem if you stockpile 200 energy before you build the mortars to clear out the sea on the right. At least, for long enough to clear it and build across to get more energy. Worked for me, at least :)

Under rating threshold (show) @ StCreed: Here is a tutorial link. Most of these puzzle types involve sinking Odin City into the creeper and linking with a floating SAM. Use the PAUSE button a lot when you want to change directions of your floating items. Good luck. https://picasaweb.google.com/chilesej/Artwork#6204563573669131026
