Nearing the end of a mission, I look at the way I have networked my collectors across the map, and how I have inched my way from one edge to the other, covering everything in my wake, destroying the creeper in my way, and I realise, the creeper and I, we aren't so different

jesus, i just spent 134 minutes in survival, when they finally could overtake me (600 emitters), because the base couldn't supply ammo fast enough XD

Ha. 1:25. Back on the Knucklecracker.com forums we call these maps "Fools' Mate" maps. They are fun when they come around. :)
Haven't played one in ages. :)

Wow, I was placing my buildings and then suddenly the rift opens. WTH? Oh, I already reached all totems? Hm, May 15 isn't a very hard one.

OMG I've been playing this series of games since it first came out and I only now just learned you can move the home base.

Suggestion: Make a BIGGER map... 4 times bigger than these ones...
And how about, in that bigger map : more emitters, more complex terrain and maybe 2 Odin cities... Think about it ;)

May 14 is hard if you dont want to move the base, but doable. Build collectors to the sides of Odin, and remember to maximize its green area as much as possible. As you are about to collect 2 energy you should build your first blaster close to Odin, a few squares away from the creeper or it will get destroyed while building it. Start a second blaster at about when the first is at half health. You should be about to finish having the sides somewhat covered, build 3 or 4 collectors in the zone of the right and build a drone. Maybe you need a third blaster near Odin. Send the drone to the bottom-left, if you are in trouble hit the pool in the middle. Keep hitting that corner as you keep building a few more collectors on the right side. You will need a blaster because the right side will soon fill the pools, and build a second drone to hit that pool as soon as its done (maybe you can manage with one drone, but i didint try it). You control the map now, just win.

May 12. 1:58 using 13 collectors, minimum move of base and turning green packets on and off as needed. Hope that helps.

my web still resist the survival mode...
just try what i've done:
1 clear all the zone from water
2 place at list one blaster near each emitter
3 build reactor storage and speed on the 70% of the ground
4 place three parallel lines of blasters near the emitters (as roman soldiers did)
5 place three parallel lines of mortars back the blasters
6 to be sure to resist construct 2 drones for each emitter and use them alternate
I did it and also with survival mode no one of my structures explode...
Try to believe

Good suggestion, Rain King. It took me a few tries, but I was able to beat May 7 without moving too. I did have a lot of micromanagement of mortars, flying back and forth to charge and shoot.

I think it would be cool if the good creeper from academy is added to here. (Although, it would be controlled, meaning that it flowed the way that you indicated and could be vaccumed to refill the power bar.)

me dominating creeper all of a sudden i see the very small button called "survival mode" so i know im dominating -presses button- dear god creeper surge through my entire base

Sometimes I find it sad that the score is only based on the time. I love to completely cap the creepers, to take the world back... But the score, the holy score... she punishes me for my obsession.

Monday may 7 is possible without moving the base, under 10 minutes. My strategy: develop solely on your left. Once you're about done doing that, the creeper should be close; build 2-3 blasters, immediately next to your base. And 2 drones. Use the drones to hit the pools on the north-east and west at the beginning to reduce the pressure, then also in the north. This is the critical part. Build one or two additional blasters and proceed to advance on your right, until you can block the exit of the western pool with a blaster. After that, just keep using your drones, expand on the northern hill, everything's easy... and there you are, <10 minutes.

Is today possible without moving the base?
If you move its pretty easy, but im eventually overcome by the creeper if i dont.

I've worked out why I don't like this one as must as the original, the maps aren't interesting to play on. More hills, valleys and features would improve gameplay and make the game more sellable.

The challenge I make for myself is usin only collectors and blasters, max. 10 blasters, less if possible. all emitters have to be capped, etc. before ending the mission.
Today I needed only 6 blasters to cap all emitters.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Rules for myself to keep it challenging:
1. All emitters must be capped before punching out
2. All bonuses must be collected (no matter how remote)
3. Final time must be under 10 minutes
Everything else is fair game: Moving the base, using reactors and drones, etc.

Nice. This is a great generic way to handle the annoying 'begging for upvote' comments. If you don't care enough to upvote, just downvote them instead

I enjoy listening to my own music, but even when I'm not its still rather annoying to have music turn on even after turning it off in a previous level. This should be a remembered setting. Other than this, great game. It's kept my interest for a good while so far anyways...
