Have you read the "How To Play"? There is a lot of good info in there. Reactors take longer to build, but they have the energy creation of several (4 or 5, somewhere in there). Some people just build a few collectors and then switch to reactors. Just make sure you build the reactors as close to Odin City as possible to cut down on packet travel time.

Wait, so do reactors actually produce more than collectors? I thought they were the same, though there is an allusion to collector efficiency.

i take back saying survival was easy with a ton of stuff over the map. i lasted 36 minutes. started with 32 power and over 2000 storage with the rate of fire, range and power upgrades, and by the end i had 1500 starvation

@kennycjr: I waited until 42:18, when it started to flood the platform. I had 1 storage, 4 reactors, 1 collector (to connect the mortars) and 2 mortars at that point. The reactors gave me enough power to sustain the mortars, so I could build collectors as soon as there was space for them on the lower platform. I suspect that that was what made me faster, because my strategies aren't that good.
And yes, it was a full green-out, the same as yours. The rushed push for that was what forced me back with a few minutes delay. ^_^'

4/27 Not really sure if this should be called an ocean challenge since the plateau's aren't as high. Maybe a lake or a shallow sea challenge? Least that means not near as much waiting. If you choose to go with the bottom plateau you'll only be waiting for 12m, or 20m for the last part of the top plateau. I went for the 20m challenge, only had 2 upgrades at that time, and finished at 34:24.

micheal: that's amazing you were able to do better than I was with a drone and 3 floating mortars. Did you wait until 40m or 42?
chilese: By no floaters I meant only building what will fit on the plateau, no building extra mortars just to float them around until you're able to land them. Is there a better way to describe that?

The ocean challenge typically starts with no shooting of any sort until the TIME gets to some number, like 42 minutes. Beyond that, one can impose additional restrictions. Sadly, even at double speed that's sitting around for over 20 minutes and then remembering to start your attack at the appointed time.

4 reactors, 1 storage, 2 mortars, built a drone once I took back a few platform layers: Ended up at 58:18 due to screwing up with the final push and getting forced back and even losing a few blasters. Don't know if I could make it without reactors.

So what is the ocean challenge exactly, you let the creeper fill up to level X and then start bombing in? And are reactors disallowed, or?

kennycjr: That's a pretty amazing clallenge. Does without floaters refer to not flying anything the entire time? It is amazing how many different ways there are to "beat" a level. Ocean challenge, total green-out, fastest, longest survival time, limited weaponry.

4/25 presents an interesting ocean challenge, I've beat it at 40m. 20m, the creeper makes it to the second level of the plateau for a quicker ocean challenge. I'd think it'd be an expert challenge to do without a drone. I've been trying to beat it at 42m, when the top plateau starts to be taken over, can anyone do it without any floaters and still getting a total green out before survival time? http://imgur.com/zIR8hsM

chilese: since 2011 I do play it on full dominancy basis, not on the fastlane, but surely admire and respect the job you all do with those times especially hawk, carusoo and yourself. Surely it was a fake time, a mere attempt to beat the troll, but in soccer, it's called an own goal definitely. Have no idea what to do with them, it's a pity these folks hanging around enjoying their game-in-game. Whatever, they should live, too, so let them, but this does not mean I like them.

Radenska: Many of us, myself included, saw another person putting up an impossible time. Are you saying you were putting the troll down on the page, or putting him down by "beating" his time? My goal is to vote trolls so that their overall count is zero. It seems appropriate to leave them neither positive or negative. It is hard for us to see behind the things when you are doing the same as the troll. I'll pay more attention to your subtle comments in the future.

To all, who downvoted me below - congrats. I have tried to push our favourite troll down. Next time try to see behind the things. Cheers.
