We are all against the Creeper. While the speed record is more easily seen, the other versions, longest survival, limited weapons, late starts, cap all emitters are all played here.

@chilese, sorry for being unclear, what I meant was I never tried out whether a charged totem continues to work if it is disconnected - I always end up connected to everything I've built.
Maybe the backstory says what you say, but the game mechanics suggest that all the packets - build/ammo/charge - use up the energy collected/produced locally. Anyway my approach comes from the fact that I first played CW3:Abraxis where you have nullifiers and the goal is actually to destroy emitters. On some maps I even find myself going for the emitters and having to remind myself I only need to reach the totems. :)
Bottom line is, I agree that there's no wrong way to play this game.

Did anyone realized that if you didnt escape the totem for too long, emitters are on 100% and flood the entire map :|

@WizZumwalt: Have you never connected all 3 totems and had Odin City warp out of the map? As the story goes, Odin City is on its way back home and these temporary stops are resting places. If you build a lot, Odin City may not receive any damage, but you have expended a lot of resources that Odin City has to carry. As these resources are left behind, I always thought getting out as fast as possible was the best approach. It's all good.

@chilese - cool solution. You could probably speed it up by moving to the island in the centre first - that way you won't need the relays. Or does that stop you from moving to the top?
I find these speed solutions interesting in their own way, but I enjoy this game a lot more as originally intended: Zero damage to Odin City. (At least I presume that's how it was originally intended.) On yesterday's map, that means you have to move Odin City to the top right, build reactors, and keep flying mortars out to the island in the centre. That got me down to 17m. I haven't tried moving Odin City to the centre, but it doesn't look too good - very little room there to build anything.

Today's map was tough. Tried so many different strategies to get a foothold and, eventually, managed to win in 50-odd minutes just before the auto-survival-mode kicked in.
That's the beauty of this game, though. Simple but deep - you can play it every single day and it still capable of throwing you curve balls.

5/28 - 3:47 @ WizZumwalt: I could post a screenshot if you'd like. Build 1 blaster right away, then fly the blaster and Odin City to the upper left elevation and link with totems by collectors and 3 relays. I'm glad you enjoy the game. There is no wrong way to play it.

@chilese - That's what I thought until today's. This one is hard, I've just about managed to win under 30 mins without capping off a single emitter... I would agree though that 30 minutes are usually enough to dominate the vast majority of maps.

@ thelizmartin09: With practice ANY map can be totally controlled within 30 minutes (15 for the wizard group). After that you are merely setting up for Survival. It makes sense that the Creeper will always win and that Odin City is merely a spaceship trying to find its way home. Thanks for your comment. :-)

I wish there was a way to turn off Survival mode. Just as I'm about to completely overtake the stupid creeper, it hits survival mode and I'm obliterated. This is not cool dev!!!

eghem 234:45. LUUUL. Best game for those who like strategy, survival and defense. I wonder if this game will crash if i survive more than that?? Ps. im not a game addict...

Feel free to contact Kongregate to have MTargaryen removed. I've written a few times and they haven't banned him yet.

Yes, the truth is that no matter what we do, the Creeper always wins and takes over each planet. After we leave, it's all Creeper.

That moment when you've completed all the maps and have nothing left to do. I HAVE to leave it. But my mind thinks "It's not an idle game, why would I need to leave it?" Curse you brain, for wanting more. Wait till tomorrow like everyone else.

@utopix: You haven't read the instructions. Everything you ask except translations is explained there.
Click Cinematic Mode to go fullscreen.
Press P to pause, it's good to pause at the start of a mission.
Click HELP to see everything explained.
Search the web for a real dictionary if you need one, Google translations are abysmal.

I played through the Creeper World Training Sim, and it makes this game a lot easier to understand and enjoy. It is another, separate game on Kongregate.

it' such a good game, but going too fast and complicated, hard for foreign "langagers"; might have translations, speed choice and full screen option...

Lol. Played for 15 minutes... got bored, went out for lunch. 1 hour later, I came back to see that I won with the score: A Valiant Stand.
... =.=

One tip I haven't seen is to start each game off by moving your city to a high elevation if it starts off at a low elevation. Then just follow everyone else's tips and people should find this game much easier.
