Under rating threshold (show) Not quite what I thought it would be when I clicked on it. I was pleasantly surprised. One of the better games I have played on Kong, and one of the first RPG's I have really been able to get into in a long time. 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) There are 9 endings, one for every character (including neferiti if you play on hard mode), the normal "I have no wish" ending and, if you get all 7 character's endings in one single gameplay (not NG+) the "I have no wish" ending changes into a special ending (read this to know how to get all the endings http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/175829-rpg-shooter-starwish?linkfixed=1&page=3#posts-3823314). Also you cant vote for any of the "I have no wish" endings. At first the normal ending was the one I liked the most, but after geting the special ending i loved it, but seems there arent many who think alike as there is no comment for "+ if you would like to vote for the special ending".

Under rating threshold (show) It has been about a year since I last spoke to xdanond about Starwish. At the time he still had plans to make a sequel, though he was working on other projects as well and a sequel was low on the priority list. However, he was kind enough to mention that there was already scriptwriting being done, and was kind enough to send concept art as well, so there is still hope for a sequel.

Under rating threshold (show) "Drink between meals, drink with a friend, drink to seal deals, and drink 'til the end" -Swig (You only find this quote if you talk to Swig in the cafeteria) Almost as awesome as the one where Deadeye said she was working on harnessing the power of love to make weapons.

Under rating threshold (show) I registered on kongregate specifically just for this game (started playing on the other site) and write this comment without knowing enough English (not native, so I apologize for any inaccuracies) to the accompaniment of music from the game. What can I say? It is a 100% best flash/web game I ever played! One of the best games in general (including up to ~100 "big"/commercial games I have tried / played in my life). Especially i like it for story line and bright vibrant characters (something that many modern high budget games lacks). Also perfect match of excellent music. Shooting part not bad, but just an ordinary for such sort of games. If we replace the combat engine for something more contemporary with normal graphic(may be even not shooter/scroller, but space sim, like Wing Commander) it could turn out a great commercial(PC/console) game. -cut to 1000 characters-

Under rating threshold (show) I have not even finished this game, and yet I am already reviewing it because it is THAT GOOD. The dialogue and characters were totally awesome and made me laugh out loud several times. The game play itself is flat out fun. The system is quite unique. Overall, this combines several genres into EPIC WIN. It well deserves the 5/5 stars I am giving it.

Under rating threshold (show) It is so depressing to see so many negative/hateful reviews. People nowadays don't appreciate good plots, captivating stories, and lively characters. Now it's about how much brutal action, buckets of gore, and the ability to tea-bag in multiplayer you can do. My thanks to Danond for breaking the mold of tower defenses and launching games on Kongregate. And for all the hater's who can't handle a good storyline, please, leave REAL videogames like this alone, we don't want you. Vote so that Danond can see this please.

Under rating threshold (show) It's amazing how a flash game can have more heart and soul than some of the bigger games nowadays that likes to focus too much on graphics. Hopefully we can get a sequel or if we're lucky enough. One of the bigger game companies will pick this diamond up and release it for a gaming console.

Under rating threshold (show) For endings : between every mission, visit the Cafe, the Hangar and Lab. Double check every time because having a conversation in Hangar or Lab may unlock someone in the Cafe, so go back. Talk to Johnny every time in cafe and ask Johnny for Tips. After all tips are gone for the stats, new tips will appear to ask Johnny about the girls of the station (if you don't talk to Johnny in the cafe like everyone, he won't propose it). <> Hiding tip from Auriplane (music maker of the game) for Deadeye story : buy all weapons (even the hidden one in World 3)(thanks for the tip man, great game). My result : 1st time normal, talk to everyone every time, all johnny's advice. 5 endings + the basic "No..." one. Good luck. And yes Neferiti is in HM only (appears in Cafe in World 3)

Under rating threshold (show) Came back 7 years after beating the game the first time to finally get the special ending before flash stops being supported. This is as much of a masterpiece now as it was then. I did some digging and saw the developer was active and teasing a new game, possibly another game in this franchise, as recently as 2018. Hopefully they're doing well wherever they are, and while it may not be likely after 9 years the small chance of a sequel still exists, so we can hope.

Under rating threshold (show) Most of the highly rated games nowdays are only capable of amusing the player for a short period of time, or, to cause addiction. but here we have something meaningful that's worthwhile thinking and, may possibly change one's life. i am disappointed that some "gamers" disregard Starwish as a good game just because they don't get to kick asses, virtually.

Under rating threshold (show) To all of those still asking for a sequel almost five years later, there is good news. The developer has been working on various other projects, none of which are related to Starwish, but once those are completed still plans to continue working on a sequel to this game when their other projects are finished. By continue working on a sequel, I mean to say there is already some work put into the sequel. When it will come out is anyones guess, but the long and the short of it is a sequel is still very likely for this game.

Under rating threshold (show) When I started playing here I thought "I comment when I find the correct game" And this was it. The game is awesome, the characters aren't just a line. They are deep and with every single minute you play you start to know them more. This is the kind of game that makes me think that sometimes the "famous" games with a lot of money on them are overrated. Thank you for making this game.

Under rating threshold (show) brandonyo - I guess you MAY have played the first...five missions, and you're a shooter fan so a "story" would go over your head. The later levels are taxing on picking the right weapons for the right job - resources get tight do I upgrade saws or lasers? Or I guess I COULD level grind but wheres the fun in that? To the maker top notch simple game I will be finishing it at least once...

Under rating threshold (show) This game is about good life, and honourable death, about chasing your dreams no matter of obstacles on your way, speaks of what is really worthy in life. The shooting game is only a part, to make this game. This really could be a very good movie or book, or a feeling of person who lost something very important....

Under rating threshold (show) I'm not going to lie, Tessa and swigs endings made me tear up a bit. This game is beautifully made and is just a straight up masterpiece. It has everything i want in a good game. If something like this was made for a mainstream console it would be a huge success. I would definitely buy this game on the Xbox Live Arcade for 10-15 dollars. Keep up the amazing work, I think i can speak for everybody when i say We would love to see more games like this made.

Under rating threshold (show) I saw the special ending before the Ginny ending, and thus the last one kinda feels more official to me, sadly. I don't know, it's not only terribly sad, it kinda made me depressive for a day, it's also a lot more emotional. The problem with the "Super Happy ending" is that it's a cop out, like an achievement "you unlocked everything", it lacks the strong narrative of the other endings. Maybe it just lacks those nice close up pictures. The one from Ginny's ending is just stuck in my head now. Damn. Please make a sequel. I'll wait for it. I'd pay for it. But if you never planned to, and don't know how to continue, thats fine, too. Take no risks. Thank you for this experience. It cost me a week of my life, but I am grateful.

Under rating threshold (show) It's not often that I say this about a flash game. In fact, I've never said what I'm about to say about a flash game, but this truly is one of the best games I have ever had the pleasure to both play and experience. Solid gameplay, good art, unique and interesting characters, and an immersive story evocative of Xenosaga, Star Wars, D&D and even Cowboy Bebop in some ways. Very well thought out in many ways, with the sole complaints I have being the repetition of bosses throughout the levels and the issue of the cafe only being available immediately before a mission which, sadly, did pull away from the sense of urgency this game displayed at times. I will also say the jump in difficulty from the first two worlds to the third was a bit more extreme than expected, but all of these issues are minor in my mind, and despite them all I gladly give this game 5/5. Were it retail, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Under rating threshold (show) Epic. Easily the best Flash Game I've ever played. Actually, one of the best games I've ever played period. Its a rarity for a game to so enthrall me that I cannot wait to finish it and gladly spend countless hours doing so. You, my good sir, are truly gifted individual to create such a compelling and involving story with such limited resources. Many a big budget blockbuster has failed to do what you have done.

Under rating threshold (show) Sigh my file is gone. However that won't stop me from restarting. Plus I have a tip. If you choose the skill "long shot" when it becomes available sawmines become an extremely effective weapon. They even pass through solid objects and do far more damage than the wave cannon (forget what its called).

Under rating threshold (show) I thought the game was great for its dialogue and character development 5/5. What kind of bothered me was the disappearance of Ginny, I thought it could of been better handled as it was sort of abrupt for such a major character. For gameplay I thought it would've been cool to enact the training sessions with mare as a kind of switch up to the normal missions. In addition to that if you did make a sequel more variation to gameplay and how the missions are played would improve it. Of course you don't need to make this changes it is your game, just a little feedback from a player. As long as the sequel has a comparable script to this I'll be happy =).

Under rating threshold (show) It's been years since I've played this game ever since I last got one of the many endings. Today I revisit this masterpiece which is embedded in my mind. Under rating threshold (show) Amazing game. Some tips: - NEVER upgrade weapons unless they're at least 7 or 8 levels higher. Doing this saves money for mods. -Pick a few weapons and STICK with them. Don't try to upgrade all 7. I used laser and wave for 99% of the game, with minor upgraded sawblade and charge for certain bosses. -Maxing int and def is the way to go on hard. This is a game where surviving > doing damage. -You can redo past levels (this sounds stupid but I didn't know you could do this on my first playthrough) -Skillwise, I went for Explosive Crit- Rapid Reload- Overdrive Charger- Overheal- Defensive Shielding. -If you're going for the special ending, you need careful managing of who to talk to each day. Check the kong forums- there are detailed cafe guides there. -For the special ending, you cannot die until day 18; the game won't allow you to quit and reload, but you CAN pause before you die and escape! -Finally, please read every line of dialogue- it's what the game's all about. Hope this helps!

Under rating threshold (show) I gotta say first that I'm a jaded-ass individual. There are a lot of comments about how the writing in this game was something special, so I had a healthy dose of skepticism going in. I will happily admit to being impressed. Although the game generally flirts with countless tropes and cliches of both sci-fi and gaming, it manages to avoid falling prey to them. While the gameplay leaves something to be desired, the writing more than makes up for it. Bravo. 5/5
