Levels 1-5 are complete (as far as the stars, maybe not every single word but all stars) here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/65126-lateral-walkthrough-massive-spoilers

Perhaps it would be possible to do this like Sudoku; you could have a few words sprinkled through the matrix so you have some idea what to try to think of. As other people have mentioned, hints would work as well.
Not a bad game concept overall, but needs a lot of work.
And thanks HiDef, I would never have gotten the O.C., since as you pointed out, it is a California show, not Florida.

eclecto - can't help with soccer --- fights, but have you got Homer Simpson yet? That'll help with some of the bottom right corner if not.

Anyway, enough of the USA/UK fighting, can anyone help with the last of the ice cream flavors/flavours? I'm stuck on the 5,6 one.

Eclecto, I think what people are complaining about are the US references, not the US spellings. I think we can all cope with colour spelled without the U. But there is an extra level of difficulty when you've never even heard of, say, the phrase "Don't mess with Texas" or "Baby Ruth"s. Yeah, Google can help with some of it, or I wouldn't have got those, but I'm guessing that some of the ones I haven't got yet are ones which Google isn't helping me with. It wouldn't have been hard to make this game just a little more non-US friendly.

lol, too many options and with no hints it's like wasting my time. ie celbrities on the sports level. Without any hints I need to find the correct celebrities with 5-6 and 5-5. The list is so long and without knowing what the creator is thinking I just keep guessing. Or I can look at the answers someone gives, but what's the point of a puzzle game if you're just going to look at answers? Add hints and I'd make it a 5/5, but without them it's just guesswork so 1/5

I mean sure, if you're finding you're having to use a spelling you're not used to, that may be a legitimate concern. But you don't have to phrase it like "Why do people always use INFERIOR AMERICAN SPELLING OF NOT REAL ENGLISH BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN ENGLAND WHERE PEOPLE SPEAK REAL ENGLISH BECAUSE MY SUPERIOR ENGLISH-SPEAKING ENGLISH COUNTRY IS CALLED ENGLAND AND IS THEREFORE AUTOMATICALLY RIGHT REGARDING ALL THINGS ENGLISH AND ENGLISH-RELATED."

@eclecto All Europeans learn British english in school. So you could easily add a couple af hundred milion British English speakers to your count.

Ok, I hate to sound like an elitist American dick, but this is directed purely at the elitist UK dicks: There are 55,000,000 English speakers in the UK. There are 280,000,000 English speakers in the US. I'm sorry we tend to exert greater control over the language that is named after your country. Get over it. If you wanted us to spell "color" with a "u" so badly you should have been nicer to us in the sixteenth century.

I agree that this game is very difficult if you are not from the US, and some of the connections are really difficult to gues.
